Chapter 460 - 192: Stripping Liu Rong of the Director of Internal Medicine Position
Chapter 460 - 192: Stripping Liu Rong of the Director of Internal Medicine Position
The acting director of a Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital might not have the same administrative rank as Liu Rong.
But in terms of status, the three of them were well aware that Liu Rong was far beneath Lu Xuan.
Not to mention Lu Xuan saving Ji Huan, even if Lu Xuan were to replace Chairman Cui as the president of the Yong City Chinese Medical Association in the future, that alone would be enough for Liu Rong to be taken aback.
No wonder Xie Mingsong would mention the word "revenge."
Although Liu Rong is currently the director of the internal medicine department at the District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, regardless of rank or other aspects, Lu Xuan doesn’t measure up to Liu Rong, but if Lu Xuan truly wanted revenge on Liu Rong, Liu Rong really wouldn’t have any good options.
Moreover, if Ji Huan were to show even a hint of dissatisfaction, Liu Rong’s position as the director of the internal medicine department could very well be over.
Liu Rong resigned himself to this, letting out a bitter laugh, "This was really my own small-mindedness. If Lu Xuan truly wants revenge, I’ll accept it. There’s no use complaining."
Old Wu couldn’t say much, so he just patted Liu Rong on the shoulder and sighed.
Liu Rong’s actions could have almost ruined someone’s future, and no matter who it was, it’d be hard to brush it off with a smile.
It seemed Liu Rong had realized this too. His face didn’t look too good, but facing the comfort from Xie Mingsong and Old Wu, he could only force a smile.
His position as director of internal medicine appeared unsalvageable.
He never thought that they wouldn’t take revenge. If it were him, he wouldn’t easily let go of someone who almost ruined his life.
...
During the meeting that followed, Liu Rong’s attention was noticeably distracted.
After the meeting ended, Lu Xuan was successfully elected as a director of the Yong City Chinese Medical Association. It was only with a reminder from Xie Mingsong that Liu Rong snapped out of his daze.
"Teacher Xie, what’s going on?"
"The meeting’s over, let’s go."
"Huh?"
Reacting, Liu Rong looked around to see the previously packed conference room now emptying out. At the podium, where Lu Xuan’s name was placed, he sat conversing casually with Zhang Jingcai on his left, exuding the aura of a master of Chinese medicine.
"It really is him!"
Although Liu Rong had anticipated that Lu Xuan was likely the one joining the association as a director, seeing the young man he expelled from the hospital two months ago had grown to a point he had to look up to, he felt a sense of loss.
The last sliver of hope shattered in that moment.
Xie Mingsong seemed to notice what Liu Rong was thinking and comforted, "Lao Liu, don’t overthink it. Sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise. It may be good for you. If you can’t remain the director of internal medicine, maybe you’ll achieve greater things if you focus your efforts elsewhere."
"Indeed, blessings in disguise."
With Xie Mingsong’s comfort, Liu Rong let go.
The seeds of action he sowed had ripened today.
However, what he didn’t expect was how quickly these consequences arrived, leaving him momentarily unresponsive.
In the afternoon, after lunch, upon returning to the Beijiang District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, seeing Xie Mingsong heading to his office, Liu Rong hurriedly called out, "Teacher Xie, wait a minute."
Xie Mingsong turned back, puzzled.
Liu Rong took a breath, "Teacher Xie, if you’re free, could you accompany me to see the director?"
Upon hearing this, Xie Mingsong instantly understood Liu Rong’s intention. He initially planned to refuse, but thought it through and agreed.
"Alright."
"Thank you, Teacher Xie."
"No need to thank me, we’re colleagues after all."
"But you really need to change your temperament."
"By the way, hasn’t the director gone to a meeting? Is he back?" Xie Mingsong suddenly recalled that Chen Qianyu had gone to a meeting at the provincial office this morning. It was only a morning meeting, but considering possible social meetings afterward, he might not be back until late in the evening.
"He’s back; the director has another meeting in the city tomorrow and had to come back to prepare materials. He returned immediately after his provincial meeting without even having lunch," Liu Rong explained.
"Let’s go, I’ll accompany you there."
With that, the two headed to Chen Qianyu’s office.
Chen Qianyu was puzzled about why the two were coming together. Even if it were to report the happenings of today’s meeting, Liu Rong could have come alone; there was no need for Xie Mingsong.
Additionally, knowing Xie Mingsong’s character, as someone who rarely stepped into his office, him coming with Liu Rong today seemed out of the ordinary.
"Old Xie, why are you here too? You usually don’t like to come to my office," Chen Qianyu teased as he got up to pour them tea.
"I’m here accompanying Lao Liu."
Upon hearing that, Chen Qianyu turned curiously to Liu Rong, "Liu Rong, aside from reporting today’s association events, do you have anything else?"
"Yes."
Liu Rong nodded, "Director, I’ll be straightforward. I met someone at today’s Yong City Chinese Medical Association meeting."
"Someone?"
"Who?"
The curiosity in Chen Qianyu grew.
"Lu Xuan."
Without much thought, Liu Rong blurted out Lu Xuan’s name.
"Lu Xuan?"
Chen Qianyu paused but quickly realized, exclaiming, "Isn’t that the young man you sent to the Health Center two months ago?"
"Yes, that’s him."
"What happened with him?"
Chen Qianyu asked, but soon it dawned on him, "Wait, how could he appear in the Yong City Chinese Medical Association?"
