I Can Assimilate Everything

Chapter 686: Archean! I

Chapter 686: Archean! I

What Achilles felt was utterly obscene at this moment.

Every time he felt like he understood the changes occurring within him, he was proven wrong. The transformations exceeded his comprehension, then exceeded his revised comprehension, then exceeded that as well!

His existence was becoming something he could not track even as it happened.

Because mind you, he was not only benefitting from THE Great Archean Flood.

He had been assimilating the Waters of THE Great Archean Flood.

And it was not like he stopped. He still kept at it.

The white waves crashed through his existence with force that should have overwhelmed any being at THE First Scale. Most lifeforms experiencing this flood would either Persevere through the evolutionary pressure or perish from inability to adapt. Achilles was doing something else entirely. He was consuming the very nature of the Cause itself, integrating its fundamental principles into his being with each passing moment.

And the more he did, the more the nature of his entire existence was changing.

In the purest possibilities and potential of his power to Assimilate, when he assimilated anything, he became like that thing. This had always been the truth of his power. When he assimilated the Heart of a Primordial Architect, he became a Primordial Architect. When he assimilated others, he gained their authority. When he assimilated treasures, their nature became his nature.

As he was assimilating the very waters of a Miniature Cause, it was as if his existence was doing everything it could to rectify and make clear how someone like him, how his lifeform, was somehow becoming closer and closer to a Miniature Cause itself.

It was unfathomable to understand.

The prompts that had come earlier, which were signifying and detailing the Archean Adaptation and Evolutionary Pressure Emission and Archean Resonance, felt like they were effectively being outdated with every passing nanosecond. Those capabilities had been significant when they first integrated. Now they seemed like preliminary sketches of something far grander taking shape within him.

Because whatever issues or barriers that Achilles was facing when it came to his power within THE First Scale of Existence continued to rapidly dissolve as he assimilated more and more of the Waters of THE Great Archean Flood.

His foundations became something beyond sublime!

Oh!

His limitations began dissolving entirely!

To the extent that a terrifying prompt appeared.

Warning: The nature of your existence is changing to something unknown.

The more you continue to assimilate the nature of the Cause of THE Great Archean Flood, the more your existence continues to unpredictably change. The depth and immensity of your existence is rising at a rapid and unpredictable rate.

Assessment: You have attained the sublime foundation across all the depths of your existence within THE First Scale of Existence.

You can establish your Civilizational Anchor at any time to step into THE Second Scale of Existence.

...!

Achilles felt all of this sublimely!

He felt such profound changes as he wanted to scream and yell out with triumph that transcended anything he had experienced before. From Surface Depth to this moment. From awakening his Civilization to becoming something that could step into THE Second Scale whenever he chose. The journey had been...truly short!

But he shook his head and focused.

When he looked up, all he could see were endless floods spreading out all around. The white waves expanded in every direction with speed that transcended conventional movement. They washed through The Existential Lattice without pause, carrying evolutionary pressure toward every corner of Observable Existence.

He could not even perceive the figure of Mansa Zulu anymore.

That terrifying entity from the Unobservable had departed, leaving behind only the Miniature Cause that would reshape everything.

At such a moment, he shook his head and rose up.

His entire body was fully back to immense vitality. The decrepit form that had paid the cost of THE Primordial Severance was gone entirely, replaced by something grander than he had possessed even before that Pulse. His purple-gold hair blazed with colors deeper than they had ever been. His eyes swirled with clusters of differentiation and undifferentiation that seemed more fundamental somehow. His archaic crimson tattoos pulsed with rhythms that resonated with the very principles of existence.

Rivers of Archean light surged around him like living currents!

He ignored everything for now and took a step.

His power had grown so much that from that single step, he crossed the vast regions of Observable Existence with ease that should have been impossible for anything below THE Second Scale. Space folded around him without resistance. Distance became meaningless before authority that exceeded what THE First Scale should contain.

A moment later, he appeared above the seas of Tian.

The golden waters stretched below him in familiar warmth. The First Sea, Abzu, sparkled with light that seemed almost peaceful despite the apocalyptic flood approaching from every direction. And floating above those waters were the two beings he had left behind.

Rose.

THE Watcher.

They stared up at him as he descended toward them.

His appearance had changed. He was still Achilles, still bearing the features of the Ninth Adrastia Emperor King who had transformed into a Primordial Architect. But he was also something more now. Rivers of white Archean light orbited his form like the golden lotus petals surrounding THE Watcher. His purple-gold robes seemed woven from authority that pressed against reality itself. His presence radiated power that made the surrounding golden waters tremble!

They could feel it. And...

They could feel a trembling echoing throughout Observable Existence as THE Great Archean Flood spread toward them from distances that would be crossed within moments.

Everything was shaking and trembling at this moment!

THE Watcher looked at him with platinum singularity dimmed from the sacrifice of those memory fragments.

Even though this being did not have a humanoid form, he seemed saddened. The golden lotus petals around him drooped slightly, their rotation slowed with something approaching grief.

"Did you... fail?"

...!

A heavy question was asked of him!
