Chapter 927 - 926: Faking an Accident
"Thank you, big brother!" Luo Yirui picked up the ball and said.Gu Haiqing gave a slight nod. He wasn’t very good at dealing with kids, especially when those black-grape eyes kept staring at you; it made him feel completely ill at ease.
Seeing Gu Haiqing go into the room, Luo Yirui stuck out his tongue at Zhuangzhuang, who was squatting nearby. He’d originally wanted to do some sneaky tailing—it felt very exciting—but he hadn’t held onto the ball properly and it had rolled right out. He hurried after it and completely forgot he was supposed to be hiding.
"Let’s go back." Luo Yirui waved his hand and called Zhuangzhuang to walk back with him.
Just then, he ran straight into that big brother who’d been shouting earlier. What was his name again? It was too complicated; Luo Yirui hadn’t remembered it.
"Kid, you need to watch where you’re going, you just bumped into me!" Zhan Hongjun had his hands in his pockets, looking down at Luo Yirui who was rubbing his nose.
Just now, Luo Yirui really hadn’t been watching where he was going, so he knew he was in the wrong. But for some reason this guy’s tone made people uncomfortable. He lifted his head, his little brows knitting together, yet perhaps because like repels like, Zhan Hongjun didn’t find this brat cute at all.
"Not convinced, huh?" Zhan Hongjun raised an eyebrow.
Luo Yirui took a step back, while Zhuangzhuang took a step forward. One boy and one dog stared at Zhan Hongjun.
"What, you gonna sic the dog on me? I’m telling you, if you let this dog bite me, your mom’s going to end up in prison!" Zhan Hongjun cast a wary glance at Zhuangzhuang.
He’d come here to stage a fake accident in the first place; targeting a kid like this was a bit hard to justify, but he was really desperate now and could hardly care. Still, seeing how huge Zhuangzhuang was, he was very much on guard.
How did this dog get so big!
Is this even a dog? Why does it look like a wolf?!
Hearing the words "your mom will go to prison," Luo Yirui instinctively glanced at Zhuangzhuang, signaling him to calm down.
Right now Zhuangzhuang wasn’t baring his teeth or growling, but those gloomy eyes of his still made Zhan Hongjun extremely wary. He kept feeling that when this dog stared at him it had bad intentions, like it might bite him at any moment.
The whole point of faking an accident was to get to know that young man. If he actually got mauled by a huge dog like this, it really wouldn’t be worth it!
Luo Yirui snorted and said, "You talk so rude. My mom even said you were a well-educated person. Turns out you’re nothing special!"
The words "nothing special" were said in a tender child’s voice with the air of a little grown-up, but they carried a deep, deep disdain... Zhan Hongjun opened his mouth and didn’t manage to get a single word out.
Luo Yirui was genuinely afraid Zhuangzhuang would bite someone and his mom would have to go to prison for him, so he decided he just wouldn’t bother with this guy. Like Uncle Tianji said, if a dog bites you, are you gonna bite the dog back?
Oh, he didn’t mean Zhuangzhuang. Zhuangzhuang is a good dog!
Seeing this brat assume a "I won’t stoop to your level" attitude and walk around him to the other side, Zhan Hongjun was both angry and amused. If he continued to make a scene, he’d really look uncultured. The kid wasn’t very old, but his mouth was pretty sharp.
"Wait a second!" Zhan Hongjun had no choice but to stop him. He wanted to pry some information out of him, but hadn’t expected the kid not to be scared.
Luo Yirui turned back, calmly looking at him, signaling him to speak if he had something to say.
That look left Zhan Hongjun completely at a loss. He gave a wry smile and said, "Little brother, I was just joking with you just now. I wanted to ask, is the man with you your father?"
"No." Luo Yirui replied.
But what he was then, he didn’t directly tell the man.
"Then what is he to you?"
"Uncle."
Mm, he called him Uncle Xun anyway, so this answer was fine.
All right, now Zhan Hongjun was depressed. "Uncle" was a very broad term. It could mean the man had something to do with the kid, or that he didn’t. So this answer was basically the same as saying nothing.
"Are you trying to pry information out of my son?"
A very pleasant voice sounded from behind, making Zhan Hongjun’s body go rigid. He felt like someone who’d just been caught red-handed doing something bad. He lifted his head and saw a very beautiful woman standing in the middle of the corridor, looking at him with a half-smile.
If he hadn’t heard her personally say this brat was her son, he would have found it hard to believe she was already a mother. She even looked younger than him!
Which pig had managed to snatch such a gorgeous flower!
Zhan Hongjun felt deeply aggrieved.
"Beautiful lady, I meant no offense. I just felt very at ease with this young master here and chatted a bit. And seeing such a beautiful lady, I somehow feel very at ease as well. May I know your name? Would you mind having afternoon tea with me?" Zhan Hongjun suddenly turned gentlemanly. He really couldn’t bear to ignore his image in front of such a pretty woman.
Luo Yirui gave a dry little laugh. "You were just saying you wanted my mom to go to prison!"
Dad, you really need to be more careful. There are wolves trying to steal the house everywhere!
Zhan Hongjun: "..."
Why is it that when this brat talks, everything just sounds off?
Beisitian’s gaze turned cold. "Oh? Is that so?"
Zhan Hongjun lightly cleared his throat. "The young master is joking. But I really do want to invite you for afternoon tea, madam." This time his manner was much more serious, and his form of address had changed as well.
Beisitian pondered for two seconds and nodded. "All right."
Luo Yirui knew they had something to discuss. Even though he didn’t really like this man, he just pursed his lips without crying or making a fuss. He was much more sensible than an average child.
That said, he was still happy to get some desserts. Luo Yirui scratched the fur on top of Zhuangzhuang’s head; one boy and one dog followed behind them toward the second floor VIP lounge.
As soon as they sat down, a hotel server came over to ask what they needed. She was specifically in charge of this area.
"One milk tea and an apple juice." After Beisitian finished, she looked at Zhan Hongjun.
The milk tea here was made with top-quality black tea and fresh milk. It tasted pretty good.
"Just a glass of plain water is fine." Zhan Hongjun wasn’t really in the mood for drinks.
After the server left, Zhan Hongjun couldn’t help speaking up. "May I ask, are you with Heavenly Blessing?"
Beisitian thought for a moment. "Not exactly."
Not exactly?
So there was a chance she was, but it wasn’t easy to say?
"Are you from Beijing?" Zhan Hongjun asked again; you could hear a bit from someone’s accent.
This time, Beisitian nodded.
Zhan Hongjun was instantly overjoyed. "So you really are from Beijing. That’s great. I have a request—Madam, I hope you can introduce me to the gentleman who’s with you. I have an urgent matter I need his help with!"
Beisitian froze. He wanted to see Wei Zhongxun?
"What do you need him for?"
Seeing that she hadn’t refused outright, Zhan Hongjun knew there was hope. He sighed and said, "I know that gentleman is a brilliant doctor. I want to ask him to see a patient. I really couldn’t find any way in, so I had no choice but to resort to this last-ditch method!"
This "last-ditch method" being... coming to Heavenly Blessing Hotel to cause trouble...
