I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 391 - 390

Chapter 391 - 390

The woman pregnant with Weng Yong’an’s child?Beisitian thought she might have misheard, so she wanted to ask again. Seeing someone looking over from behind, she pulled Tian Qiu into the courtyard.

Inside the house, Beisitian handed Tian Qiu a cup of hot water. Tian Qiu shook her head slightly, her face still marked with tears and her expression vacant.

"Sister Qiu, what did you just say?" Beisitian placed the cup of water on the nearby table.

Tian Qiu’s tears fell again as she choked, "After I got to work, the secretary said a woman wanted to see me. The woman said bluntly that she was a woman kept by Weng Yong’an and was already pregnant with his child. She hoped I would step aside honorably, or she’d make a scene at the Weng Family.

Tian Qiu initially thought she wasn’t deeply involved and could walk away at any time, but when she saw that woman caressing her belly sweetly, she felt like she was going to collapse!

So she went up and slapped that woman, driving her out!

Tian Qiu had a complex expression on her face, with a hint of misery in her eyes. "I was always prepared to leave the Weng Family, but I never thought Weng Yong’an couldn’t even wait!"

Beisitian took a sip of plain water, her face showing calmness, and asked, "Does he know about this?"

Tian Qiu pursed her lips, "Who knows, he probably does. Otherwise, how could that woman blatantly come to my office and ask me to step down! A shameless mistress even calling herself virtuous!"

She was utterly disgusted.

"I’m planning to divorce." As Tian Qiu spoke these words, tears again uncontrollably streamed down her face.

Despite not wanting to admit it, Weng Yong’an was indeed good to her. Although she resisted, she still fell for him unconsciously.

The Weng Family had long wanted children. Although there were quite a few in this generation, what they most wanted was a child from Weng Yong’an. They hadn’t conceived in two years of marriage. The grandmother even made her a lot of traditional medicine, but still, she didn’t get pregnant. The Weng Family never liked her, and now they disliked her even more.

If that woman made a scene at the Weng Family, with the Weng Family’s conduct, they would surely pressure her to divorce on her own, and then accept that woman into their home. Instead of that, she might as well take the initiative and divorce sooner.

"Why aren’t you saying anything? At least get angry for me!" Seeing Beisitian still having the mood to drink that water, Tian Qiu was suddenly infuriated.

Beisitian glanced at her, "Let her make a scene at the Weng Family then."

Tian Qiu, wiping her tears, was startled, "What did you say?"

"Didn’t that woman say she would make a scene at the Weng Family? Let her do it."

Tian Qiu’s face turned gloomy as she shook her head, "No, it’s too humiliating. I absolutely won’t allow myself to be so embarrassed!"

She was already very embarrassed today; she couldn’t bear to lose her dignity like that.

Beisitian smiled slightly, "Trust me, the one who’ll end up humiliated certainly won’t be you."

Tian Qiu stared blankly at her, not understanding why she seemed so confident. She was about to ask when they heard a loud knock on the main door, the urgent sound showing the person knocking was very anxious.

Tian Qiu looked out through the lattice window, lost in thought. Could it be him?

"I’ll go open the door." Beisitian just stood up when Tian Qiu grabbed her, shaking her head, "I don’t want to see him!"

Right now, she didn’t want to see him. Seeing him would remind her of that woman caressing her belly, making her feel disgusted. Yet, deep down, she longed for him to provide a reasonable explanation.

"Then you go to the east wing," Beisitian said.

Tian Qiu nodded, and together with Beisitian left for the east wing, while Beisitian went to open the door.

Opening the door, there stood Weng Yong’an outside.

Weng Yong’an’s suit jacket was open, and his forehead was sweaty, looking very different from his usual composed self.

"Xiaoqiu, is she here with you?" Weng Yong’an almost used an affirmative tone.

Beisitian shook her head slightly, saying, "She’s not here."

Weng Yong’an obviously didn’t believe it. He had been to her mother’s home and to the main Tian Family house, and she wasn’t there. She could only be here at Beisitian’s, knowing Tian Qiu liked this cousin very much.

"Impossible." As Weng Yong’an spoke, he pushed the door open and walked inside, no longer caring about politeness.

Beisitian didn’t stop him, closed the door behind her, and followed him in.

Weng Yong’an strode inside, calling Tian Qiu’s name as he went. In the east wing, Tian Qiu held her hands over her ears, her tears unstoppable. She knew she didn’t really want to leave Weng Yong’an, but she couldn’t bear his betrayal.

Weng Yong’an searched both the east and west houses, still not finding Tian Qiu. He was extremely panicked; he feared Tian Qiu would disappear from his life entirely. The calm demeanor he honed in the business world was now completely useless.

Beisitian watched Weng Yong’an’s loss of composure and saw him about to rush towards the east and west wings. She raised her voice, saying, "Even if you found her now, she wouldn’t listen. Why don’t we sit down and talk?"

Weng Yong’an shook his head, "I must find her first!"

"I can persuade her," Beisitian said calmly.

Weng Yong’an turned back, "Persuade her of what?"

"Can you persuade her to not believe the child the woman carries is yours?" Beisitian countered.

Weng Yong’an’s eyes turned blood red, his captivating peach blossom eyes seeming bewitched, looking somewhat terrifying, "It’s not mine at all!"

"Hmm, I believe you," Beisitian sat down and lightly gestured for him to sit as well.

Weng Yong’an paused upon hearing Beisitian say she believed him, clearly puzzled. Normally, matters like this would make sisters indignant, even causing them to slap him. But she instead expressed belief in him.

Weng Yong’an knew she was right; even if he found Tian Qiu, he wouldn’t be able to convince her. And seeing Beisitian’s demeanor, it was clear she knew where Tian Qiu was.

Weng Yong’an sat opposite her, watching as she drank tea peacefully, showing no signs of anger or anything, fueling his curiosity. Tian Qiu had feelings for this cousin, but did this cousin have feelings for Tian Qiu?

If his brother was betrayed, his mood certainly wouldn’t be as calm as hers.

Beisitian looked up and asked, "Do you know that woman?"

Weng Yong’an paused for a moment and said, "A business partner’s daughter."

"That’s all?" Beisitian slightly furrowed her brow.

"What else could it be?" Weng Yong’an said in a deep voice.

"If the child exists, even if it’s not yours, her boldness in confronting Sister Qiu means she feels backed, or perhaps she’s simply your entangling blossom. If so, it’d be laughable, being cuckolded by a rotten peach blossom," Beisitian’s lips carried a cold glint.

Not to mention the issue of the child, the woman indeed existed. What the situation actually was, only Weng Yong’an would clearly know.

Weng Yong’an was extremely surprised; in Beisitian’s words, she seemed very certain the child wasn’t his, but why?
