Chapter 1883 - 1882: Settled (34th Update!)
When Zhang Xiaohao opened the door and walked out, two thudding sounds echoed from the courtyard next door.
Thud! Thud!
"Hehe." Seeing this, Zhang Xiaohao smiled slightly.
Then, he turned and walked towards his room.
In the courtyard next door, Xiao Hu’s mother’s face looked displeased.
"What were you doing? I fell, and you didn’t even think to catch me?" Xiao Hu’s mother complained.
"You landed right on me. Does it matter if I try to catch you or not? Besides, I’m the one who got hurt!" Xiao Hu’s father retorted irritably.
"It’s done now. Let’s go to bed!" Xiao Hu’s mother said.
"Yeah! Let’s go to bed!" Xiao Hu’s father emphasized the word "bed" with a deliberate tone.
...
The door creaked.
Entering the room, Zhang Xiaohao closed the door.
"Brother Xiaohao, have the two intruders left?" Zhang Ting’er asked bashfully, her face flushed.
"Yes, they’ve all left!" Zhang Xiaohao nodded with a smile.
"Brother Xiaohao," Zhang Ting’er called out dreamily.
"Do you really have no regrets?" Zhang Xiaohao asked seriously.
"Brother Xiaohao, I’ve thought it through. Although we’ve just met for the first time, I don’t know why, from the moment I saw you, I was captivated. My heart can’t hold anyone else but you. Having you is enough for me in this life," Zhang Ting’er said sincerely.
The beauty had spoken so plainly; if Zhang Xiaohao refused again, would he still be a man?
When passion reaches its peak, there’s no need for words. Accompanied by Zhang Xiaohao’s low roar, the battle horn was sounded...
Not a word was spoken through the night, and the next day Zhang Xiaohao woke naturally.
When he got up, the room had two warm dishes set out.
Zhang Ting’er walked in from outside.
"Brother Xiaohao, are you awake?" Zhang Ting’er asked, her face rosy with shyness.
Having turned from a girl into a woman, her face carried a gentle blush, making her even more beautiful.
"Yes." Zhang Xiaohao nodded, got out of bed, washed up, and started eating.
"Brother Xiaohao, sis, I’ve come to play!" Suddenly, Xiao Hu’s voice came in from outside.
As soon as he finished speaking, Xiao Hu rushed in.
"Huh! Sis, why is your face so red? It’s redder than a ripe apple," Xiao Hu asked curiously.
"Why do you have so much to say as a kid? Do you want to read or not? If you want to read, then go do it! If not, then go home," Zhang Ting’er said irritably.
"Brother Xiaohao, I want some candy," Xiao Hu said sheepishly.
"Here, take this, eat slowly! Remember, one a day, and the other two bottles are for your dad and mom," Zhang Xiaohao said with a smile.
"Brother Xiaohao, I knew you were the best," Xiao Hu said excitedly.
"Wait, take this too. Each of you should take one bottle, one pill a day!" Zhang Xiaohao instructed.
He pulled out three bottles of Xuanling Pill and handed them over.
Each jade bottle contained a hundred pills.
"Okay." Xiao Hu nodded, standing in the room, eyes eagerly looking at Zhang Xiaohao, showing no intention of leaving.
"Weren’t you headed home? Why did you stop?" Zhang Xiaohao asked in return.
"Brother Xiaohao, is that all? If there’s more, you might as well bring it out!" Xiao Hu said with a wink.
"You cheeky kid." Zhang Xiaohao said with a laugh and a frown.
Thinking for a moment, he took out three bottles of Five Transformation Primordial Pill from the Shennong Ring. These were Body Refinement elixirs that, once consumed, would quietly enhance one’s physical strength, among other things.
"Is that all?" Xiao Hu blinked.
"That’s it!" Zhang Xiaohao spread his hands.
"Hehe! Then I’ll go back," Xiao Hu said.
With that, he bounced away and ran outside.
Just as he reached the door, Xiao Hu stopped again.
"Brother Xiaohao, can I ask you a question?" Xiao Hu asked with a wink.
"What do you want to ask?" Zhang Xiaohao asked curiously.
"Brother Xiaohao, what were you and my sister doing last night? Why did my mom scold me when I asked her this morning?" Xiao Hu asked, puzzled.
"Oh you, Zhang Xiaohu, stop right there!" Zhang Ting’er suddenly exclaimed.
She picked up a feather duster nearby and charged at Xiao Hu, but having just undergone a transformation from a girl to a woman, the movement tugged at her internal injuries, forcing her to stop immediately.
"Hehe! Sis, you can’t catch me," Xiao Hu made a face, gloating.
After saying that, he ran quickly outside.
"Here, take these," Zhang Xiaohao took out three pills, identical to the ones given to Xiao Hu, and handed them to Zhang Ting’er.
"Okay." Zhang Ting’er nodded with a flush, taking the pills from Zhang Xiaohao and swallowing them.
Zhang Xiaohao took out three jade bottles and placed them on the bedside table.
"Remember to take one pill from each jade bottle every morning," Zhang Xiaohao said with a smile.
"I will, Brother Xiaohao," Zhang Ting’er said, blushing.
"One more thing, there’s a room beside the bedroom where I’ve stored some meat, vegetables, and fruit wine. We’ll use that for meals and call Xiao Hu and them over to eat together," Zhang Xiaohao said.
"Okay." Zhang Ting’er nodded.
"I’m heading to the front shop now," Zhang Xiaohao smiled softly.
Turning around, he left the bedroom and entered the shop at the front.
Lying on a recliner, Zhang Xiaohao thought to himself, hoping these things would change their constitution and build a solid foundation for them.
Shaking his head, Zhang Xiaohao went back to reading.
In the store next door.
Xiao Hu excitedly handed six exquisite jade bottles to his mother.
"Mom, this is from Brother Xiaohao. He says the three jade bottles have candy. You and Dad should each take one every morning," Xiao Hu said.
"Okay." Xiao Hu’s mother nodded.
"By the way, Xiao Hu, does your sister feel pain when she walks?" Xiao Hu’s mother asked.
"Yes! Just now when she tried to chase me, she couldn’t even take two steps before it seemed to hurt a lot," Xiao Hu explained truthfully.
Xiao Hu’s mother and father exchanged glances, each seeing a trace of a wry smile and helplessness in the other’s eyes.
"Alright, go read! If you have trouble, just ask Brother Xiaohao, he’s not an outsider anymore," Xiao Hu’s mother instructed.
"Okay." Xiao Hu nodded and ran into Zhang Xiaohao’s shop.
Unlike before when he was bashful, Xiao Hu was now familiar, pulling out a small stool and sitting next to Zhang Xiaohao, picking up a book beside him to read.
When it was time for dinner, Zhang Ting’er had already prepared the meal, and five of them sat around the dining table.
