Chapter 101 101: 'Change' Talent
Chapter 101 101: 'Change' Talent
Iris didn't think she'd even be angry for a few seconds before Leo explained it reasonably like that. If you put it that way, then there's no problem at all.
"Not wrong. It's just, what right do some random mortals have to see a true god's talent?"
Hands on her hips, her head held high, parallel to the sky. Her whole being right now could be summed up in one word: 'arrogant'.
Hearing that, the corner of Raphael's mouth twitched a few times. Was 'random mortals' pointing at him? After all, out of the four of them, only he had a 'mortal' nine-star talent.
"Quit putting on airs for me. Spill it. Is there a way or not?"
The more Michael looked at her acting cocky, the more annoying he found it, so he wanted to cut off her current mood.
"The hell are you trying to start shit?"
Her fists clenched tight. If Michael said one more wrong thing, she'd punch him straight in the face.
"Alright, alright. You two stop messing around. Iris, is there a way or not?"
Seeing they were about to fight, Leo had no choice but to step in between them. He found it annoying too but there was no other way. As long as there wasn't any problem that needed serious handling, both of them acted extremely willfully, even more childishly than actual children.
"Hmm... let me try and see..."
She felt like it was possible. She just wasn't sure how to do it. After all, back when she had the power of a god, she wasn't a contractor so talents and stuff were meaningless.
"Ah, got it. Inside our one star, it holds nine other stars. Now if we just controlled it a bit to let four stars out, wouldn't that become a five-star talent?"
As soon as she finished speaking, she became even more pleased with herself. Having a 'smart' advisor like her was the greatest luck Leo could have.
"Uh, but how exactly do we get them out?"
Michael raised his hand to comment, looking kinda 'dumb' as hell. He hadn't even tried to see if he could do it or not.
"Are you dumb or what? What's so hard about this? What kind of god can't even do something this small?"
The veins on her forehead popped. Face all 'ugly', talking stupid shit. The more she looked at his face, the more she wanted to hit him.
While they were arguing, Leo quickly tried it out. These past few years, him not paying attention to this problem didn't mean it was hard.
The small star behind his head, following his will, released four stars that were a bit dimmer.
If someone else took a quick look, it'd be hard to notice the difference. Plus, they wouldn't see this difference as important if they hadn't seen his extraordinary performance.
"Why aren't you two trying it? Just standing there dumbfounded for what?"
Reminded, Iris and Michael immediately gave it a shot. Of course, if Leo could do it, there was no reason they couldn't.
"That easy?"
Michael was surprised at how easy this was. He originally thought disguising it would take some effort but didn't expect just wanting it was enough.
"Actually, it's not that easy. It's just that over the past few years, your control over your body and energy has increased a lot. If it was you before any training, you'd struggle quite a bit. Aren't you gonna thank me for my training efforts?"
The explanation was secondary .Taking credit was the main goal. Saying it wasn't really for Michael to do anything, just to feel one step above him.
"Alright, stop."
Seeing the situation was about to go south again, Leo had to step in and stop it. A few sentences in and they're about to fight. Having comrades like this by your side is really damn exhausting.
Raphael, standing to the side observing, was also dumbfounded by them. This was something normal people couldn't change at all, but for the three of them, just wanting it was enough.
"Can you adjust it? I mean, like, however many stars you want it to be."
"Yep. But the brightest star can't be hidden."
Earlier he had already tried. Any star might not show up but there was one single exception.
"No problem. This little thing, not many people will notice it. Besides, if it gets discovered, with how smooth your tongues are, you'll have more than enough to talk your way out of it."
Raphael felt this ability was very convenient. If later they had to hide or infiltrate somewhere, they could fake their talent. That way it'd be hard to get discovered, or at least not get discovered immediately.
Like his Celestial Holy Sword, in this world there might be many that look the same, but the talents are completely different. Of course, the chance of it appearing randomly is much lower than the chance of descendants resembling their ancestors.
"So you're all choosing the second option, right?"
As soon as Raphael spoke up, all three nodded in response. Each person's reason was also very different. Iris was purely curious, nothing major goal-wise. Leo and Michael needed to observe so they'd later know how to effectively revolutionize within this world's context.
"Well then, in the next two weeks, there should be a knight coming to help you guys awaken. Just pretend to be normal. After you guys enter the academy, we'll slowly figure out the next steps."
The three frowned in confusion, looking at Raphael, because they found this suggestion hard to understand. He clearly could have immediately taken them to hunt energy monsters to increase their strength first.
"Do you have some plan?"
Michael naturally wouldn't stay quiet. Anything he didn't understand or found strange, he wanted to ask clearly.
"I do, actually. But I can't tell you guys in advance."
Recently, he would occasionally go out a bit to search for information related to the continent's current situation. If there was news about Gabriel, he wouldn't hesitate to go find that 'trustworthy' father.
During that time, he accidentally overheard about an interesting figure he'd had the chance to meet a few times a long time ago. If this person actively helped these three kids, then everything next would be much easier to handle.
