Chapter 763: Upgraded Magic Cube Space’s New Ability
Chapter 763: Upgraded Magic Cube Space’s New Ability
Just like when a phone system upgrades—it always has to shut down, read data, update, and then, once it boots up, it suddenly looks very different—the Magic Cube was pretty much the same.
This time, what was eerie was that the barrier between the Magic Cube Space’s reality and its ethereal aspect began to draw a new map in a manner akin to quantum filling.
White light filled the space, rapidly devouring the surrounding area to claim new territory, forming small 1-cubic-meter blocks. The ethereal space became more and more substantial, about to materialize!
Was this an online upgrade for the Magic Cube Space?!
Jing Shu didn’t faint. Instead, her consciousness was clear, and her body felt warm, as if it were constantly bathed in energy.
The most exciting part was the Spiritual Spring. It usually produced just a little bit each day, but now it was gushing out quite a lot. Even the precious White Emulsion in the cultivation room started to increase at a visible rate, as if a hundredfold accelerator had been turned on.
Awesome!
After so many upgrades of the Magic Cube Space, Jing Shu felt exhilarated for the first time!
The storage and planting spaces of the Magic Cube Space were upgraded once more. Seeing the additional new areas made Jing Shu feel an unprecedented sense of security.
All the white light finished mapping out the new spaces. The dense energy lingered, not dissipating. Then, at the center by the Spiritual Spring, a drop of purple liquid appeared, like a satellite in orbit.
Then, the Magic Cube Space seemed to switch to a storm-sweeping mode, frenziedly absorbing the surrounding energy. The drop of purple liquid began to grow slowly, first to the size of a fist, then a basketball. Finally, the liquid crazily shrank and turned into a crystal...
In the end, it transformed into a pomegranate-sized purple spherical crystal, slowly revolving around the Spiritual Spring. It was still slowly growing.
Is this... the new energy body from this upgrade?
At the same time, the upgraded Magic Cube Space seemed to have downloaded new information into Jing Shu’s head.
The new ability of the Magic Cube Space after this upgrade is actually intertwined with the Six-dimensional space! Jing Shu casually caught a Tick that was chaotically flying around.
Then, a miraculous scene occurred.
The Tick in her hand instantly became two!
These were identical Ticks, from their antennae to the patterns on their skin; even their genes were exactly the same.
This was Jing Shu’s new ability after the Magic Cube Space upgrade: using purple energy to clone identical Dark Creatures. Yes, it could only be Dark Creatures, because only species with a special genetic fragment found in Dark Creatures could fulfill this requirement.
Surprisingly, the energy required to duplicate a three-meter Rotten Mermaid was not much more than that needed for a fist-sized Tick. This suggested that cloning Dark Creatures was related to their intelligence and energy levels, not necessarily their physical size. It wasn’t the case that a larger form automatically required more energy.
The most crucial aspect was that Jing Shu could also disintegrate the cloned Dark Creatures back into purple energy. There would be a loss, of course—roughly half the energy. Disintegration only worked on Dark Creatures cloned using purple energy.
In the blink of an eye, the two Ticks turned into invisible purple starlight and disappeared. So, were these Ticks pervading the Six-dimensional space brought into being through cloning?
Jing Shu currently didn’t know what this new ability truly meant, and she had no time for further experimentation.
The Magic Cube Space’s storm-like energy absorption completed its upgrade and formally transitioned into the third phase: from virtualization to materialization. This caused a tumult within the entire Six-dimensional space’s Tick sea. Compounding this, the caravan had just entered the central point, where energy was most abundant—and also most dangerous.
Therefore, even the powerful caravan equipped with various high-tech weapons couldn’t hold on any longer!
"Why have these insects suddenly gone mad?"
"What do we do? The insects are about to fill the entire convoy, and the brothers at the back can’t hold on anymore."
Jun Bao crossed his arms under his chin. Seeing that Jing Shu couldn’t be woken, he turned his head again to the command post and said solemnly, "If it doesn’t work, then use that."
Elder Zhang clenched his fists tightly. "Don’t worry, we can break through, get to the central energy, open the gateway, and we’ll have succeeded."
Hao Yunlai stepped forward. "I’ll go. At this rate, no one will get the central energy."
"All right, go and give it a try." Jun Bao nodded. If one life could resolve the issue, it was a better option, demanding a lower price than using "that." Besides, he was aware of Hao Yunlai’s deeds.
Hao Yunlai ruffled Wanzi’s head. "Stay close to your Sister Jingzi."
Wanzi nodded, seemingly understanding.
The surrounding people cast curious glances, not understanding what Team Leader Hao Yunlai meant by "him going," or how he would go. After all, outside there was a sea of insects. Even armored RVs and military vehicles had trouble approaching. How could he go alone? Walk over?
Hao Yunlai took one last look at Jing Shu, turned his head, and jumped straight out of the RV, wearing only a simple protective suit.
Screams echoed from inside the vehicle; they couldn’t believe someone would go to their death like this.
"Has he gone mad?"
"Even if he’s the legendary Special Ability User, he shouldn’t just jump into a sea of insects, right?"
"It’s over now. We can’t even find him; he’s been submerged."
Jun Bao frowned, looking at where Hao Yunlai had been submerged. He couldn’t find a trace of him and muttered to himself, Could he also fail?
It was at this moment that Jing Shu fully woke up. With her as the focal point, the upgraded Magic Cube Space expanded in two directions. Materialized points of light instantly appeared above the pitch-black sea of Ticks, enveloping countless of them within the space.
So, the greatest use of this third form, materialized space, is that wherever it extends, even with just material contact, it can directly collect things into the space?
It was well known that the Magic Cube Space’s ability to collect objects required a medium of touch. This could be her body or an object she held, like a stick.
But now, upgraded to its third form, the Magic Cube Space no longer required that. It just needed to be extended out, and anything it touched could be collected into the space—an ability that utterly defied the heavens.
Just like now, any contact with the Ticks could decompose them back into purple starlight and draw them into the space.
In the blink of an eye, the Tick sea, so terrifying a moment before, quietly diminished, greatly reducing the pressure on the convoy. The Tick sea was so vast that no one noticed its rapid reduction, but everyone felt that the Ticks’ onslaught wasn’t as dreadful as before.
As the number of Ticks decreased, the path forward became clearer. The Shadow of a person emerged, apparently struggling to swim through the sea of insects.
"Look! There’s a Shadow over there!"
"My God, is that Hao Yunlai?!"
"The insects seem to be avoiding him! That’s too miraculous!"
