Chapter 726: Moving Out from the Villa
Chapter 726: Moving Out from the Villa
It seems Su Malie is serious; otherwise, she wouldn’t be so proactive and ambitious, even starting to plan her business. But Su Malie hasn’t revealed what kind of company she is opening, which makes Jing Shu very curious.
The most frustrating part was that, despite not disclosing any details, she would still ask Jing Shu some questions every few days, such as:
"Jing Shu, that garbage dump you’re contracting, it includes collecting feces, right? How much can you collect in a day?"
"If there’s a buffet on holidays, we can get over 40 tons. On regular days, it’s about 20 tons. Why are you asking? Do you want to make a biogas pool, generate electricity, or produce Fuel?" Jing Shu asked. She considered that producing Fuel might be a good idea. The South Sea area had virtually no resources; agriculture was difficult, and the fish in the sea had all been devoured by rotten corpse insects.
Although that area was an island with many trees, and many had been left behind when the city relocated, in theory, they could be used as Fuel. However, the place was too humid, and the wood, soaked by seawater, was difficult to burn. So, producing Fuel was indeed a possibility.
Su Malie said, "I see, feces have so many uses! I’m not planning to do what you just said. But don’t worry, you’ll see. I’ll give you a surprise, HEHE."
Alright then. Jing Shu didn’t have time to dwell on these matters right now because lately, she had been extremely busy—packing up everything in the house, taking inventory of all assets, and figuring out what needed to be brought on the road.
Actually, a month ago, Jing Shu had already begun taking inventory of the villa’s contents, then neatly numbering, recording, and categorizing the supplies before putting them into Hulk’s body.
In addition to those, there were also many regularly-used supplies and food that needed to be sorted out regarding their distribution and storage locations. This was an extremely tedious task.
There were 30 square meters of various foods in the villa’s basement. This was manageable before Hulk, but now that they had him, it was natural to classify items like rice and flour, oil, seasonings, and dried goods. These would then be packed into special boxes made by Mr. Jing and placed inside Hulk.
The kitchen ingredients had already been moved onto the RV. The RV’s kitchen had been fitted with many storage boxes nailed up high and low, perfect for storing room-temperature dried food ingredients, seasonings, dried noodles, and roasted rice, while the shelves were filled with various pots and pans. The kitchen, not large to begin with, now only had standing room for one person. It was easy to imagine how much had been crammed inside!
Over the past month, the family had toiled to make various dishes—such as braised meat, smoked meat, meat jelly, red-braised pork knuckles, and Buddha Jumps Over the Wall—and portioned them out. If someone wanted to eat, they could just take out a portion and heat it up, which was very convenient.
These cooked foods were packed in plastic bags and frozen. At minus sixty degrees Celsius, they could last a very long time. After being numbered, most were placed into large freezer boxes carried by Hulk, essentially making him a mobile oversized refrigerator.
A small portion was hung on the side of the RV for easy access. When these ran low, they could be replenished from the mobile refrigerator. After all, the quantity of these cooked food supplies was truly immense. There were thousands of pork and vermicelli buns alone, filling four 60-liter boxes, not to mention other cooked dishes.
Of course, the food items hung on the side, including cured ham and bacon, were all stored in airtight boxes. If they were just carelessly hung on the RV’s exterior... well, even though it was dark and they wouldn’t be easily seen, if discovered, it would be... rather awkward.
With only two days left before the relocation, the Jing family moved into the German MAN RV parked in the yard. The RV hummed and emitted steam, and you could hear the sound of it generating electricity. This wasn’t a premature experience of their new life.
This was because the Jing family’s villa was so empty it no longer had beds or even bedding, making it uninhabitable.
The kitchen’s range hood had been removed, not to mention all sorts of other appliances and machines, large and small. Except for the doors, which hadn’t been taken, even the curtains from every room had been torn down.
Aside from the windowpanes, which were still in place, the entire villa was as empty as could be. Beds, cabinets, tables—everything was gone, leaving the spaces spotlessly clean.
Even the 1-to-10 split air conditioning units purchased back then had been dismantled by Mr. Jing and Grandpa Jing. They didn’t spare the main units or the wiring either. It was a case of plucking every last feather. In fact, Mr. Jing was still reluctant to dismantle everything so thoroughly. He always thought:
"If the situation improves, we’ll come back to live in the villa. If we dismantle everything so completely, we’ll have to put it all back together later."
Grandpa Jing tapped him on the head and retorted, "And when do you think the situation will get better? If it doesn’t, all these things will just sit here and break down in two or three years. What a waste that would be! We should take everything we can now. It’s a hassle, sure, but we can reinstall them later. That’s still better than losing them completely."
Jing Shu nodded in agreement. She knew they wouldn’t be coming back to this villa. The Banana District wouldn’t be so lucky as to escape the next natural disaster. While it might still be technically habitable, it would become very dangerous. So, it was best to take everything they could.
There was also a charging pile next to the garage. It had been very helpful to Jing Shu over the years. The family’s BYD electric car, though old, was still usable and also needed to be taken. The South Sea was a wasteland; they would truly be starting everything from scratch there.
It would be almost like primitive living.
Although these items were essentially junk, production had halted in the apocalypse. Losing one meant one less available. With Hulk providing free transport, Jing Shu didn’t want to leave anything behind; everything had to be taken.
Junk or useless, Jing Shu was reluctant to discard anything. Otherwise, in her previous life, she wouldn’t have held onto the broken Magic Cube for so long. It had seemed useless, yet she’d kept it with her, which was how she managed to activate it in the ninth year.
The things in the villa’s yard had also been arranged.
The crops in the front yard and an entire roomful of fungi had been transplanted onto special heated frames more than ten days ago. These were now inside Hulk, nourished by Spiritual Spring water. They were growing well, and they could harvest a batch of leeks every few days.
Most of the seafood in the fishpond had been cleared out. Grandpa Jing had made special sealed tanks for them, which were also carried by Hulk.
The most troublesome part was the Domestic Poultry.
The smaller ones, like the Dinosaur Chicken and his harem, ordinary chickens, ducks, rabbits, quails, and pigs, were relatively easy to handle. Grandpa Jing had further modified the livestock cages on the RV’s second floor, adding a hot water pipe for heating. Hulk would carry this section, and the animals would need daily feeding, care, and waste removal.
Da Hua, the cow, was a valuable contributor to the Jing family, and they didn’t want her to suffer. However, her large size meant ordinary custom boxes and cages wouldn’t suffice. Jing Shu had paid a high price for a green iron house, a 2 by 4-meter structure. Grandpa Jing added thick straw bedding and a fixed feeding trough. An air conditioner was out of the question, but two additional rows of hot water pipes would maintain the temperature. With Hulk providing a natural windbreak, this major problem was finally solved.
All the issues with their Domestic Poultry were now resolved.
Oh, right. The rather delicate Bees were placed on the second floor of the RV, becoming neighbors with Jing Shu’s Sulfuric Acid Ants. Hopefully, they wouldn’t end up fighting.
Grandma Jing had kept some silkworms. She placed them on the first floor, intending to take care of them personally.
