Chapter 814 72: Imperial Jade Seal (Part 2)

Chapter 814 72: Imperial Jade Seal (Part 2)

The tall, thin man caught the package, his gaze mournful, and made a hand sign with both hands, fleeing without hesitation, somewhat resembling a teleportation spell.

At this moment, Daoist Song's figure passed through the wall. He glanced at the tall, thin man and suddenly said, "There must be treasure inside the package."

Just moments later, another person left behind was dead under the claws.

A sharp scream echoed from the north.

The tall, thin man who performed the teleportation spell with the package groaned as blood exploded on his back, and he fell to the ground with a thud, as if glimpsing something before his death, widening his eyes and abruptly tossing the package toward Lu Jun, who was clad in martial official attire and wielded an iron whip.

"Has he practiced Daoist spells? Did he see me?"

Unable to resist, Lu Jun stepped forward to see what was inside the package. Suddenly, a flash of golden light appeared, and he was sent flying, his expression one of shocked joy.

Inside the package was a block of jade that even his spirit body couldn't touch.

"Brother Song, come quickly to assist me!"

"Our great opportunity has arrived!"

Without hesitation, Lu Jun unleashed his mana to raise a gust of ghostly wind. As a figure reached out to grab the package, he revealed his ghostly form and wielded his steel whip, swinging it at the person.

Boom!

The ghostly wind scattered falling leaves.

A sinister man struck down several individuals, seemingly comprehending something. His figure swiftly soared, looking at the fleeting ghostly shadow with surprise, exclaiming, "Underworld envoys?"

"Even you want a piece?"

Daoist Song didn't hesitate, making a spell sign, as the wooden sword on his back flew forth. He practiced the Ghost Immortal technique and surpassed Lu Jun in cultivation.

"Where did this wandering spirit come from?"

"Daring to disrupt my affairs."

A roar echoed from afar, and a red-haired, red-faced elder appeared eerily, raising his hand with ghostly cries accompanying him. The demonic aura surged to the sky, his True Yuan unleashed not inferior to Daoist magic, Lu Jun met a claw strike with his iron whip, instantly being sent flying, landing with a golden paper face, even his spirit body form wavering a bit.

Clang.

The elder grabbed the wooden sword Daoist Song had summoned, crushing it with his True Yuan demonic aura, sneering, "Ghost Dao?"

"Reckless!"

Blood God's Claw.

The elder swung his claws, and before the two men's eyes appeared a massive scarlet ghost claw. Such martial art cultivation was already comparable to magic.

But at this moment, a captivating figure appeared within the woods.

Dark Yin Palm.

A beautiful lady in a black palace dress suddenly emerged, raising a palm and sweeping it out, directly gouging three feet deep into the ground. The surrounding vegetation froze, the Dark Yin chill permeating the marrow, even Daoist Song, who had died once already, felt a chill down his spine.

"The Dark Yin Sect?"

After a few exchanges, the palace-dressed lady forced back the red-haired elder before her, raised her palm to capture the package, and it fell into her hands.

Daoist Song caught his breath, his face pale, his figure seeming a bit ethereal, and approached Lu Jun to say, "What is in there?"

"Why is everyone fighting over it?"

Lu Jun, holding his iron whip, concealed in his ghostly form, watched the confrontation of the many demonic faction experts before him, whispering, "Imperial Jade Seal!"

"Quickly inform Lord Ji."

What?

Imperial Jade Seal?!

By now, most of the northern Han-dressed martial experts had died, leaving only two. One held a golden sword, and one wielded a large spear. After driving back the enemies before them, they stood beside the palace-dressed lady, glancing at the package in her hands, standing shoulder to shoulder against the encroaching foes.

"Does the Dark Yin Sect wish to intervene in this matter?"

The red-haired elder seemed quite wary of the palace-dressed lady before him. His gaze darted around, transmitting to his companions, "Beware of Gore Rosha."

"Yin Ya is here."

"The other members of the Dark Yin Sect are likely nearby."

Yin Ya, the lady before them, was the daughter of the previous leader of the Dark Yin Sect, now holding the position of elder responsible for transmitting teachings. Her cultivation is comparable to half a step into Dao.

Gore Rosha is an enforcer under the Dark Yin Sect, ranking among the top three ghostly assassins within the demonic factions.

The palace-dressed lady, her face frosty, coldly said, "The Dark Yin Sect's affairs don't need your interference."

In 936 AD.

Stone Jingtang sent envoys seeking aid from Qidan, proclaiming himself the son-emperor, acquiring fifty thousand Qidan troops. Later Tang Li Congke couldn't withstand, seeing the situation as lost, thus ascending Xuanwu Tower with the Imperial Jade Seal, Empress Dowager Cao, Empress Liu, and son Li Chongmei, burning themselves to death.

Since then, the whereabouts of the Imperial Jade Seal remained unknown, nearly twenty years passing.

This is the last documented account of the Imperial Jade Seal in official history. Ten years later, Liao's Taizong Yelü Deguang claimed possession of the Imperial Jade Seal, but most believed it to be a forgery. In later Song Dynasty, a farmer reportedly found the Seal among Li Congke's ruins, offering it to then-Song Zhezong but eventually recognized as a forgery.

Since then, the Imperial Jade Seal's whereabouts have remained unknown, with later dynasties mostly forging replicas.

There are too many experts here.

Lu Jun was merely a southern hero in life, considered a first-rate martial expert. Due to chance, his fame earned him a position as a roaming Deputy under a city god. Though he carried some of his living cultivation, gaining mana post-death through offerings, faced with so many mortal top experts, he had no recourse.

The assistant behind him wielded the soul-binding cord, able to bind mortal souls, but dreaming of binding theirs was unthinkable.

Should these people perish, he could easily suppress their souls and spirits, given his position in the Underworld.
