Chapter 807 70: Suppressing the Ink Jiao! Slaying the Sky Demon

Chapter 807 70: Suppressing the Ink Jiao! Slaying the Sky Demon

Nightfall descended.

As Duncan gazed down at the turbulent sea beneath him, he astonishingly observed souls adrift in the waters, invisible to the naked eye. They drifted with the waves, as if the ocean had transformed into a sea of the underworld, guiding them towards an unknown destination.

"These are the lonely souls of the sea."

"Did a maritime disaster occur nearby? Or did a sea battle break out?"

"So many souls drifting."

As Duncan looked out, he saw thousands of souls drifting with the waves. The Underworld seldom managed the sea, leaving most souls adrift to be overseen by the Sea Goddess, though even she only managed a portion of them.

Divine spirits have their own jurisdictions of faith.

If an Indian Bull Head were to enforce laws in the Central Plains, it would likely get beaten until its head became like a dog's brains.

The Bull Head was introduced by Buddhism, but the Bull Head and Horse Face from the Central Plains are native, entirely distinct from the original Buddhist ones by now.

If it were the original Buddhism, Duncan wouldn't have shown leniency.

Chinese Buddhism would be the only reason for his restraint.

"A sea battle might have erupted nearby."

Lu Shanjun, who could also see the ghost souls, stood atop the waves and frowned, "These people appear like a group of pirates?"

Piracy is a rather ancient profession.

In the Central Plains, where people lived in hardship, many coastal fishermen, unable to survive, turned into pirates.

Duncan nodded slightly, activating a god's-eye view, but he saw no survivors, and said in a deep voice, "The Sea Dragon should be around here."

The bright moon hung high in the sky.

That Sea Dragon prowled the surrounding waters; though it harmed humans, it strangely left some alive, allowing its ferocity to be widely known.

With its capabilities, especially in the sea, if it wanted to harm, likely not a single person would survive.

"I want to meet it again."

Lu Shanjun brimmed with fighting spirit, glanced at Duncan who stood in mid-air. Duncan's current power was increasingly beyond his comprehension, especially after being conferred as City God, imparting an additional divine scent on him.

Sometimes, he wanted to ask if Duncan could summon the wind and rain, for having absorbed incense and divine power, he too acquired some special mana and divine abilities.

Lu Shanjun pondered momentarily, "Should it be dead or alive?"

If they truly wanted to kill the Sea Dragon, so many wouldn't be needed.

Duncan alone had a good chance of taking it down.

Now, Duncan had gathered two top experts, more inclined towards capturing the Sea Dragon alive.

Duncan slowly said, "Capture it first and see."

"If useful, it can be given a small chance of survival."

That Sea Dragon was one step short of transforming into a True Dragon; ultimately failing, it manifested a dragon shape through demonic energy, making it a half-dragon demon dragon.

If it can be tamed, keep it as a dog; it might be useful someday.

If untamable, kill it. Coincidentally, under tonight's bright moon, the three friends could gather for a long-overdue reunion, and savor some dragon meat hotpot.

Lu Shanjun clearly understood Duncan's intentions, and laughed heartily, "Then I'll lure it out."

Times have changed.

Lu Shanjun, having inherited the fate of the Southern Han, became the embodiment of a military token, carrying a murderous aura that transformed into martial bloodshed. With a mighty howl, his brawny figure soared skyward, slamming a hand down upon the sea.

Great Clumsy Hand!

The descending imprint collided with the sea, shattering even the seabed rocks. Lu Shanjun plunged into the waters, stirring up great disturbances.

Duncan and Fu Jianhan concealed their auras.

Lu Shanjun had once drank its blood and eaten its flesh, further thwarting the Sea Dragon's chance of transformation. As his aura disseminated, a slender silhouette soon appeared in a seaside canyon, a dozen or so feet long, with glaringly red dragon eyes bubbling with hatred, lunging in an instant.

The Sea Dragon held grudges.

It remembered each one of those who once impeded its transformation into a dragon with vivid clarity.

Roar!

Lu Shanjun seemed to sense something, roaring, "Good to see you!"

Bang!

A gigantic wave over ten feet tall surged on the sea surface. Lu Shanjun, adopting a half-human, half-tiger demeanor, wielded a Mountain-opening Saber, splitting the sea apart with a move called Mad Saber, prioritizing intent over form, requiring robust True Qi to unleash.

Clang!

Sparks flew as a shadowy figure emerged from beneath the sea. The colossal form of the Sea Dragon gradually became visible. It bellowed, extending a Dragon Claw, directly targeting Lu Shanjun's vital points.

That was true Dragon Claw technique.

Though the Sea Dragon's maneuvers bore some mortal martial arts traces, they relied more on the form of the Flood Dragon. It stirred waves over ten feet tall, attempting to drag Lu Shanjun into the ocean. Only a True Dragon could summon rain, and though it regained some strength, it still lacked the ability to ride on clouds.

"Something's wrong!"

"There are other enemies!" the Sea Dragon's expression slightly shifted.

A fierce sword aura sliced through the air.

In that brief moment, Fu Jianhan struck, transforming the Lu Zu Sword in his palm into countless rays of sword light. Finally uniting, dozens of sword rays became a Giant Sword, cleaving even the seas stirred by the Sea Dragon.

The two battled the Sea Dragon in the ocean; the Sea Dragon gradually felt pressured and immediately considered fleeing, flinging its tail to create surging water, breaking through their obstruction, planning to escape into the dark abyss.

But then, a figure descended from the sky, detonating with a terrifying sonic boom.

Bang!

The entire sea surface seemed shattered by immense force, with the waters even distorting to some extent, resembling cracks in space, presenting a fragmented, mirror-like image of the sea.

That fragmented scene made the central part of the sea resemble a broken mirror.

"To shatter the void, to meet the unbroken divine." The Sea Dragon showed utter shock.
