Chapter 738 - 34: The Corrupted Soldier
"Don't rush, take your time," the psychologist was still trying to guide the other party's emotions, completely unaware that intricate cracks had already appeared on the floor under the soldier's chair, with batches of black hair-like things emerging from the cracks.
"Something's wrong," Ganna said in a deep voice, "Stop the consultation immediately! He's starting to transform! Look at his feet!"
"No need to panic, we all know he's transforming," Sun Hang said coldly, staring at the soldier on the other side of the one-way glass whose limbs had begun to distort, "Continue, don't stop."
"But, but..." The psychologist hesitated slightly, glancing at the soldier who had become like a grotesque form in the armchair, turned his head and whispered to Sun Hang, "He... it seems... can't communicate with us normally..."
Suddenly, a loud explosion sound came from the other side of the glass, startling the two psychologists and Ganna, shifting their gaze immediately back to the transforming soldier.
They saw the soldier's chest had completely burst open, with hundreds of tendrils covered in black fuzz emerging from his chest cavity, spreading all around.
"This situation... can you handle it?" Ganna resisted the impulse to press the alarm button, asking Sun Hang for confirmation, "You don't need me to call for reinforcements, right?"
"No need, you all stay here, don't leave under any circumstances." Having said that, Sun Hang pushed the door and went out.
Leaving the two psychologists and Ganna staring at each other.
"He... he isn't planning to... use us as... experiments..." One of the psychologists said with a bitter expression, staring at the soldier—or rather, the creature—on the other side of the glass, with a slight quiver in his voice.
Even though Xue Yue had just absorbed most of his negative emotions, witnessing a living person transforming into a creature right before his eyes and then facing the possibility of being "sacrificed" made the psychologist's negative emotions explode once again.
But soon, he felt the fear within him rapidly dissipating, looking thoughtfully to the side—Xue Yue was sitting obediently in the corner, looking blankly at the people in the consultation room.
"Probably not; Sun Hang might have gone to find someone..." Ganna shook his head, "This little girl is very important to him. If he wanted to use us as 'test subjects,' he wouldn't leave her here with us."
"Yeah, that's true." The psychologist, having experienced Xue Yue's wondrous abilities, nodded, "Just not sure how long he'll be gone... I feel like this glass might not hold for long..."
"Don't worry, I'm still here." Ganna revealed his mechanical prosthetic, those fierce weapons emerging from beneath the hidden panels.
Despite not having much confidence himself, the metallic clinking sound as bullets were chambered somewhat reassured him.
While the trio continued to speculate where Sun Hang had gone, the answer revealed itself within seconds.
The indicator light on the other side of the consultation room door turned from red to green, and the large, locked door was forcibly opened from the outside.
The psychologist sitting at the table was startled, instinctively wanting to close the door, but noticed that Sun Hang, who had just left this consultation room, had actually come in from outside.
Sun Hang had walked half a circle in the corridor, finding the entrance on the other side of the consultation room—this door was easy to find, with quite a few soldiers waiting for psychological consultation lined up at the entrance, all with black shadows symbolizing negative emotions hovering over them.
Under the puzzled gazes of these soldiers, Sun Hang walked to the entrance, directly used his ability to invade the electronic lock, and forcibly opened the locked door.
Then, he entered the psychological consultation room once again.
However, this time, he entered from the other side of the consultation room.
After Sun Hang entered the room, he casually sealed the door with liquid metal. Before he could get closer, the tendrils covered in black fuzz were already extending towards him from multiple angles.
The tendrils weren't moving fast, but as they reached for Sun Hang, the black fuzz on the surface kept growing longer... In no time, the tendrils had transformed into dozens of giant caterpillar-like things.
A few flashes of silver light, and the tendrils were severed, falling to the ground.
But the black fuzz seemed infectious, spreading black fuzz on the areas of the floor, walls, and ceiling it touched, expanding outward.
"Not powerful, but certainly disgusting."
Just as the black fuzz on the floor was about to reach Sun Hang's feet, he took a step forward, and miraculously, the fuzz began to retreat as if fearing something.
Under the stunned gaze of the two psychologists and Ganna, Sun Hang walked step by step to the transformed soldier, leaving a "vacuum area" free from the invading black fuzz in his wake, as if the place had been scorched by fire.
When they thought Sun Hang was going to "neutralize" the soldier, he instead patted the soldier's shoulder and with a smile asked, "Where did you see who?"
The transformed soldier shuddered, struggling to turn his completely twisted and deformed neck, using his eyeless sockets to stare at Sun Hang—its eyeballs had been pushed out by the tendrils inside the socket, rolling to the wall.
