Chapter 76: Jean Broody vs. Bradley Jackson ~ When suppressed desires explode… The party!

“Seriously man, just a hit.” Ralph, one of Jean’s friends slurred beside him. “Just to loosen you up. You don’t have to blow the entire joint. Come on.”
“Do I look like I’m going to do it?” An amused Jean pulled away from the sexy blond beauty who was rubbing her boobs against his arm and looked at his friend.
“You’re no fun these days,” Ralph grumbled as he moved away to dance with a group of equally drunk friends.
“Is he still trying to get you stoned?” Dean asked loudly over the sound of the music as he walked up to where Jean stood with one of his women. “Hey, Sandy.” He kissed the blonde on both cheeks. “Dayum baby.” Dean looked at Sandy’s boxer-like shorts and bra-like top with its huge sleeves. “You look bootylicious.” He grinned when Sandy gave a delightful laugh.
“You know Ralph never gives up.” Jean chuckled. “A drunk Ralph is even worse. What’s that?” He pointed to the glass in Dean’s hand.
“Whiskey with a touch of lime,” Dean responded, taking a sip of his drink.
“Good,” Jean muttered as he took the glass from Dean. “Go get another.”
“How about you give me my…” Dean stopped talking and turned to look behind him when he heard his name being called. “Finally…” He grinned elatedly as he gave Tristan, the husband of his friend Damon, a bear hug. “Where’s Damon?” The two had flown in from Paris that very evening.
“Talking to your dad.” Tristan grinned. “Happy birthday.”
“Thanks.” Dean released Tristan who promptly went to give Jean a hug.
“Happy birthday, Jean,” Tristan said, smiling at Sandy who looked like she wanted to eat him up. “Hi, there.”
“Hi, handsome.” Sandy purred, drawing an amused chuckle from Jean. “Save me a dance, will you?”
“Sure.” Tristan grinned. “Which would you prefer? A slow song or a fast one?”
“How about none?” Dean drawled as he draped an arm around Tristan’s shoulders. “You need to ask his husband’s permission to dance with him, Sandy.” He told the smiling blonde as he steered a bemused Tristan away.
“Bullshit.” Tristan laughed as Dean began to walk with him towards where his father stood, talking to Damon. “Why did you do that?”
“I’m enjoying watching her rub her boobs against Jean.” Dean grinned. “He looks like he wants to bolt.”
“Knowing Jean, he’ll be fucking her in one of the bathrooms in the next five minutes.” Tristan laughed.
“Wanna bet?”
Jean watched his brother and Tristan go and sighed. Why couldn’t he just forget about Bradley and have fun like everyone was doing he thought as he allowed his gaze to shift around the huge brilliantly white hall. Everyone looked really good in their all-white, chic, sexy outfits. And looking at the beautifully decorated hall and how the guests seemed to be having the time of their lives, his sisters-in-law had outdone themselves. They’d rented the plush Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel that actually accommodated up to three thousand, five hundred people, and invited only three hundred and fifty people.
There was, therefore, a portion of the hall beautifully arranged for dinner and a portion for a musical performance by Fuse ODG and Ariana Grande among others. Not only could the guests binge on champagne, fine vodka, vintage wines, and other assorted drinks, they were also to enjoy an array of scrumptious meals prepared by the seasoned Iron Chef, Michael Symon himself. It was a beautiful setup and an expensive event that had his mother’s signature all over it, Jean couldn’t help but notice. The woman was an expert when it came to throwing parties.
Everybody was having so much fun, which was always Lucy Broody’s main goal at such functions. Jean had moved to a corner of the hall at some point, to be alone with his thought but Sandy had spotted him and followed him. He’d initially wanted to tell her to leave him alone but then had decided not to bother, with the hope that standing with Sandy would rather stop others from coming to him. Besides, she’d somehow sensed that he didn’t want to talk so had remained quiet by his side, which Jean was okay with.
“Time for the birthday boys to dance with the women in their lives.” The joker of an MC, a cousin of Jean’s, suddenly announced. “First with their mother the lovely Dr. Lucy Broody. Then with their wives…sorry, wife...” Everyone erupted into laughter. “Jean, take your pick.” The MC glanced around until his eyes landed on Jean and Sandy. “Oh, he already has. It’s your lucky day, lady.” He addressed Sandy, drawing more laughter from the guests. “You’re going to be Mrs. Jean Broody for tonight.” More laughter. “And then finally, Jean and Dean will dance with their fabulous sisters-in-law. DJ, hit it!”
“Ahhh…” Not only Jean, but all the Broody boys screamed when Justin Timberlake’s SexyBack started to play. Jean laughed when he heard his mother’s delighted laughter. That was a song he and Dean used to dance to with their mother, years before. They even had their own special dance. “Go, Mama, go Mama…” Jean chanted loudly when he saw Lucy moving with skilled dance steps to the dance floor. Both Jean and Dean started to move towards the dance floor too.
“Come on boys,” Lucy screamed, beckoning her twin sons with both index fingers as she gyrated her hips in a way that even Shakira would have applauded. The pleasantly surprised guests clapped and cheered.
When Jean and Dean got to Lucy’s side, they got right into the groove and started dancing like they used to dance to the song with Lucy in the year 2006. Everyone was on their feet cheering them on. When Cheryl Lynn’s ‘Got To Be Real’ started playing, Josh, Sam, Ron, Allan, and Tyler stood up with delighted shouts and went to join their mother and brothers. It was their mother’s favourite song. The shouts and applause became thunderous when Lucy and her sons started doing the electric boogie dance. Their dance moves were stylish, sexy, in sync and absolutely beautiful to watch. The Broody boys and their mother rocked the place by dancing their arses off, to everyone’s enjoyment.
“Err…I don’t remember asking these guys to join…” The MC said in a voice so comical everyone erupted into laughter. “Will the sisters-in-law please join their husbands?” He invited. “And Jean? You can have your mother all to yourself.” More laughter followed his comment.
As the Broody ladies went to join their husbands, Lucy drew Jean to her and stepped into his arms. As they swayed to the song, she looked up at her son with a look of concern.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m okay, mum.” Jean leaned down to kiss her on the cheek.
“You don’t look okay to me. Before that dance, you looked like this was the last place you wanted to be.” Lucy said. “He’s fine. Didn’t you say the Admiral said so? Look at Tanesha.” Jean glanced at the table where Dean’s friends were seated. “See?” Lucy said, turning her head to look too. Tanesha, Ty’s wife, was dancing with Chris, one of Dean’s friends. “She’s having fun.”
“She’s used to…”
“Yes, but you could take a cue from her.” Lucy cut Jean off. “You have to be positive. Now, stop looking as if you’ve been told another world war has started and enjoy yourself. We put a lot into this…”
Jean turned his head to look behind him when he felt a tap on his shoulder. It was his dad. With him was a grinning Briana, the fiancée of Cole, another one of Dean’s friends.
“Can I have my wife back, please?” Michael Broody scowled. “I brought you the lovely Briana to dance with.”
Jean laughed as he stepped aside and hugged Briana. She’d been the maid-of-honour at Dean and Kayla’s wedding and he’d been the best man. The two of them had danced like crazy at the wedding to the annoyance of Cole and the amusement and delight of the wedding guests. It was, therefore, no surprise at all that his father had chosen Briana for him to dance with.
