Chapter 446: Snowpeak Fortress Cluster (4)
Chapter 446: Snowpeak Fortress Cluster (4)
"Advisor Su Zhan!"
A chorus of exclamations rose from the city wall.
Just as the Frost Giant Ape and the Ice Golem thought they had succeeded and prepared to press the advantage, pouncing to send those two Mist Specters crashing into the retreating Su Zhan.
Time Remolding!
Mysterious power descended once more.
Spiritual Energy and mental strength within Su Zhan drained sharply like floodgates opening, his face paling another shade.
But the fracture in his right arm, the freezing across his chest, the severe internal frostbite— they all recovered at an astonishing speed.
Second one!
Third one!
Now!Ignoring the weakness coursing through his body from the recent recovery and the massive mental exhaustion, Su Zhan acted.
Future Vision captured the two Mist Specters that had broken concealment, eager to steal credit and therefore slightly exposed.
He forced in a breath, his fleshy wings behind him flapped violently, not retreating but surging forward toward the two Mist Specters.
Both palms struck out.
Two relatively smaller spheres of Flame of Destruction shot forth like arrows from a released bowstring.
The two Mist Specters clearly never expected Su Zhan, after such grievous damage, to instantly recover and launch such a ferocious counterattack. There was no time left for them to hide.
Sizzle! Sizzle!
The Flames of Destruction struck their heads.
The fire ignited them in an instant.
They gave shrill screams, their bodies twisting violently within the flames.
In the end they turned into two wisps of bluish smoke, leaving only spots of ash.
Second one!
Third one!
Two more surges of Life Essence, no weaker than those from the Blizzard Eagles, flowed into his body.
Su Zhan's spirit jolted sharply; the limpness in his aura was forcibly stabilized.
The barrier between Ocean Realm Fourth Stage and Calamity Fourth Stage loosened clearly, if only a fraction.
That sensation of plundering strength on the edge of life and death— it intoxicated him.
Broken bones healed rapidly under the nourishment of overwhelming vitality.
Su Zhan suddenly rose from the rubble, black-gray mist energy woven with Spiritual Energy swirling around him, his aura soaring, and his Golden Vertical Pupils burning with even fiercer battle intent.
This was the feeling!
To snatch!
To evolve!
But the four remaining Mist Creatures, especially the two Calamity mid-tier beings, obviously would not give him further opportunities to pick them off one by one.
"Roar—!!!"
The Calamity fifth-stage Frost Giant Ape unleashed an earth-shaking roar, furiously pounding its ice-armored chest with both fists, producing a drumlike boom.
With each strike, the ice armor on its body thickened at a visibly perceptible speed.
It condensed into a sharply-angled crystalline heavy armor over its massive frame.
Like a heavily armored infantryman, it advanced with steps that shook the ground, each footfall leaving a deep pit, radiating unparalleled oppression as it steadily closed on Su Zhan.
Every step sent cold shockwaves outward, interfering with Su Zhan's movement and balance.
The Calamity sixth-stage Ice Golem also altered its strategy.
It raised its gigantic arms, fingers spread, aiming at Su Zhan's position.
Hum—
Countless fine buzzing sounds filled the air.
The temperature around Su Zhan's space plunged suddenly to below absolute zero.
Countless ice-crystal dust particles—too fine for the naked eye to distinguish—materialized from thin air, filling hundreds of meters around.
Under the Ice Golem's control, these ice-crystal dust flecked along incredibly complex trajectories, cutting wildly at high speed.
Future Vision warned him.
In his perception, he had fallen into the center of a death storm composed of countless tiny ice blades.
A single ice-crystal particle might not be powerful, but their numbers were endless.
They penetrated everywhere, crazily slicing, wearing down his scales and eroding his Spiritual Energy shield.
Some even tried to get into his mouth, nose, eyes, and ears.
Su Zhan immediately opened his Spiritual Energy shield wider. The Flame of Destruction formed a thin fiery coat on his surface, burning the ice crystals.
But the number of ice-crystal dust particles was simply overwhelming.
They were precisely controlled by the Ice Golem, pressing forward in waves; some were vaporized by the flames, but more instantly replenished their ranks.
The light from his Spiritual Energy shield and fire coat dimmed at a speed visible to the eye.
These ice crystals contained intense cold, continually penetrating defenses and eroding his body, causing his movements to stiffen.
This was no longer a direct contest of raw power but a war of attrition on energy reserves.
The other two Calamity lower-tier monsters were busy as well.
The Calamity third-stage Burrowing Ice Worm kept darting rapidly under the ground around Su Zhan.
Its mucus-covered body rubbed the frozen earth, producing a maddening noise, while it spewed out huge gouts of paralyzing frozen mucus.
Where this mucus hit the ground, it immediately solidified into an incredibly slick ice surface, severely limiting Su Zhan's mobility.
The Calamity third-stage Ice Burrow Spider clung to the relatively intact remains of a distant fortress.
Its abdomen pulsed continuously, spitting out not webs but living-like ice-crystal larvae.
These larvae were finger-sized yet extremely fast.
They swarmed relentlessly toward Su Zhan.
They tried to crawl into gaps in his scale armor to release lethal frost toxins!
For a time, Su Zhan was trapped in a dilemma.
He had to constantly maintain a high-intensity Spiritual Energy shield and Flame of Destruction to resist the omnipresent micro-ice crystal slashes.
He had to divide attention to deal with ever-changing ice patches underfoot and the elusive burrowing Ice Worm harassment.
He also had to stay alert against the all-penetrating ice-crystal larvae.
Future Vision kept streaming attack trajectories; the volume of information threatened to overload his consciousness.
Su Zhan was forced to frequently use Time Acceleration for short-range dodges, to avoid the Frost Giant Ape's heavy, crushing charges or the sudden ice-blade storms condensing within the Ice Golem's domain.
Sssk!
One stray ice-crystal dust particle pierced a weak point in his Spiritual Energy shield and cut a wound on his cheek, the cold instantly numbing half his face.
Bang!
He barely sidestepped a savage collision from the Frost Giant Ape, but the ice-explosion shockwave it generated struck him, staggering him backward, blood and qi churning within.
His feet suddenly slipped—fresh frozen mucus spewed by a Burrowing Ice Worm—forcing him to expend more Spiritual Energy to forcibly steady himself.
A few ice-crystal larvae seized the opportunity to penetrate his dimmed fire coat, burrowing beneath the scale armor on his calf. Bone-piercing cold and numbness struck instantly.
Su Zhan's gaze turned icy. Without hesitation he channeled Flame of Destruction into his calves, incinerating the larvae along with the corrupted flesh.
The excruciating pain made blue veins bulge on his forehead.
Time Remolding!
He used his last life-saving trump card again, instantly repairing the facial wound, the internal injuries, and the calf wounds.
But this time he clearly felt the mental energy cost even greater.
A wave of intense dizziness hit him, his vision momentarily blacking.
He couldn't go on like this!
He would be ground down to death!
