Chapter 65 Oda: "Little Monster Shi"

During a break, she ran up to Li Yitong and complained, "Sister Yitong, this is even more tiring than teaching! And I have to manage my social media accounts too, how am I supposed to interact with my fans in the future?"

"The company will assign someone to manage it," Li Yitong explained patiently. "It's not that we don't want you to interact, it's just that we're afraid you'll say the wrong thing. Once you're familiar with it, you can post it yourself."

"real?"

"Really." Li Yitong ruffled her hair. "Study hard, and when you become famous, these things will be nothing."

In the afternoon in Hangzhou, Lin Feng, wearing a black mask and with his hat pulled low, walked briskly toward the security checkpoint. He had just received a message from Li Yitong on his phone: "Come back early, we're waiting for you to come back for dinner."

"Got it." He replied briefly, his fingertip swiping across the group chat on the screen called "Happy Superman Super".

This morning, Tian Xiwei insisted on changing his group nickname to "Big Strange General," arguing, "Who told you to always exploit us during training!"

He laughed and retorted, changing her nickname to "Little Monster Corporal," only to be "attacked" by three girls for half an hour at noon.

Jiang Wei's assistant was already waiting at the exit. "Director Lin, Director Jiang asked me to take you directly to the film set."

The film crew was stationed in Xiaosan District. On the mottled wall was a clapperboard with the words "Hunting Ground" on it. As soon as Raymond Lam walked into the set, he heard Jiang Wei's voice coming through the loudspeaker: "Brother Hu, tone down your emotions a bit more."

He stood in the shadows beside the monitor, watching quietly. Hu Ge was wearing a dark suit, his brows furrowed, his fingers unconsciously stroking his briefcase. The camera precisely captured the confusion and resentment in his eyes.

"Cut! That's a pass!" The moment Jiang Wei called "cut," everyone breathed a sigh of relief. He took off his glasses, rubbed his temples, and turned around to find Lin Feng standing beside him. His eyes lit up: "You're here?"

"Teacher," Raymond Lam said, taking off his mask and smiling, "I hope I didn't disturb your filming?"

"What are you saying?" Jiang Wei patted his shoulder, his voice booming, "Everyone, stop for a moment, let me introduce you. This is Lin Feng, my student, the director of 'The Beginning' and 'Take My Brother Away'."

The crew erupted in excitement. Someone exclaimed, "It's Director Lin! My mom watches 'The Beginning' every day!" "I saw the movie, it was so moving!"

Brother Hu walked over, smiling and extending his hand: "Director Lin, I've heard so much about you. I've finished watching 'The Beginning,' the loop setting is brilliant."

"Mr. Hu, you're too kind." Raymond Lam quickly grasped his hand, adopting a very humble posture. "I grew up watching your shows, and it's an honor to meet you."

Jiang Wei then pulled over the female lead and introduced her: "This is Guan Renzhi, who plays Luo Yiren."

"Hello, Professor Suga." Lin Feng greeted him politely, though he didn't have much of an impression of the person.

"Hello, Director Lin." Guan Renzhi nodded with a smile, her eyes filled with curiosity. It had already spread throughout the industry that this young director was not only a good director, but also an exceptional screenwriter. The script for "The Beginning" was regarded as a model by many of her peers.

As they were chatting, crew members walked in carrying more than a dozen bags of milk tea. "Director Lin ordered the milk tea, everyone, thank you for your hard work, come and get it!" they called out, instantly enlivening the set.

"You rascal, you're here now, why are you being so polite?" Jiang Wei complained, but his eyes were full of laughter.

"It's nothing," Raymond Lam said with a smile. "The teachers are working hard filming here, so this little token of my appreciation is nothing."

The group chatted under the shade of a tree, discussing everything from the workplace drama in "The Hunting Ground" to the cyclical setting in "The Beginning".

Hu Ge remarked, "Young directors these days are too daring. They're using the same subject matter repeatedly, and it's easy for things to go wrong if they're not careful. But you've managed to make the logic so smooth."

"I also encountered a lot of pitfalls," Lin Feng admitted frankly. "Just modifying the triggering conditions of the loop caused several versions to be overturned."

Listening nearby, Guan Renzhi suddenly asked, "What kind of subject matter does Director Lin want to film next?"

"I might try making a campus youth film," Raymond Lam said. "I'm already working on the script."

When someone suggested taking a group photo, Raymond Lam quickly stood next to Jiang Wei, with Hu Ge on his left and Guan Renzhi on his right.

After chatting for less than half an hour, Lin Feng checked his watch and said, "Teacher, I have to go now. I have things to do at the company tonight."

"Why don't you stay a little longer? Let's have dinner together," Jiang Wei urged.

"Next time," Lin Feng said. "By the way, the profit sharing from 'The Beginning' should be deposited into your account tomorrow."

"You silly child, bringing this up with me again." Jiang Wei waved his hand. "Keep the money for your new play, don't keep thinking about this old man."

"That won't do. We agreed on a profit-sharing arrangement, and not a penny less," Lin Feng insisted. He then said goodbye to Brother Hu and Guan Renzhi, "Teacher Hu, Teacher Guan, I'm sorry to have bothered you. Let's keep in touch."

"Have a safe trip." Brother Hu waved and looked at his retreating figure, saying, "This young man is no ordinary person."

Even after Raymond Lam left, the crew on set were still talking about it.

"Director Lin is so low-key. He came wearing a mask and had no airs at all."

"I heard his movie grossed over 200 million in four days? That's an achievement that many big directors would envy."

"The key is that he's still so young; his future is limitless."

"Director Jiang taught well. Look how respectful he is to his teacher. Even after he became famous, he still made a special trip to visit the set."

Sitting in front of the monitor, Jiang Wei listened to these words, and a slight smile involuntarily appeared on his lips. Seeing his students recognized by so many people filled him with even greater pride than if he himself had won an award.

On the way to the airport, Raymond Lam posted a photo of himself with Hu Ge in the "Happy Superman" group chat, tagging Tian Xiwei: "Little Corporal, look who I took a photo with!"

The message had barely been sent when Tian Xiwei's messages exploded: "Wow! It's Brother Hu! Brother Feng, you actually met Brother Hu?!"

This was followed by a series of exclamation marks, and she added, "Don't call me Little Monster Corporal! I'm Happy Superman! You're a Big Monster General!"

"Sure, sure," Raymond Lam replied with a smile. "I just visited the set of 'The Hunting Ground' and took a picture with them."

Liu Haochun: "Teacher Hu is so handsome! Feng Ge and him together are both incredibly handsome!"

Li Yitong: "Looks like your trip wasn't in vain, you even got a photo taken with them."

Tian Xiwei: "Great General! When are you coming back? Should we prepare something?"

"We're boarding soon," Lin Feng replied. "The three of you can prepare dinner and wait for me."

Tian Xiwei: "Understood! Happy Superman, Sweetheart Superman, and Love Superman will go prepare a sumptuous dinner right away! We guarantee General Big Monster will be satisfied!"

Liu Haochun: "Shall we go to the supermarket to buy some groceries? Does Sister Yitong know how to cook?"

Li Yitong: "I know a little bit; simple home-style dishes are no problem."

Two hours later, the plane landed in Beijing. Lin Feng walked out of the airport and saw Li Yitong's car in the distance. He got into the passenger seat, and as soon as he fastened his seatbelt, he smelled a faint aroma of food.

"Where are the two of them?" he asked.

"I'm cooking in the apartment," Li Yitong said with a smile. "Xiaotian insisted on showing off his skills, and I bet he's fighting with Haochun for the spatula right now."

Lin Feng couldn't help but laugh as he imagined the scene.
