Chapter 11 Xiaotian: Who is more obedient, me or her?
Chapter 11 Xiaotian: Who is more obedient, me or her?
After spitting out the houttuynia cordata, Liu Haochun still had the fishy smell in her mouth. She secretly glared at him. This guy was too bad. He knew she had never eaten it before, yet he still conspired with Tian Xiwei to trick her.
As she was pondering this, she saw him walk over. She quickly lowered her head and pretended to tidy up the script, but she couldn't hide the resentful look in her eyes.
"It's normal not to like it." He sat down next to her, his tone slightly amused. "Many people feel this way the first time they eat it."
Liu Haochun remained silent, his fingers unconsciously fiddling with the script cover.
"But remember this feeling." The tone shifted, "There's a scene this afternoon where your character discovers that 'Brother' is actually quite annoying, always meddling in everything. That feeling of being teased and wanting to roll your eyes is similar to how you feel right now."
Liu Haochun was taken aback, looked up at him, and realized he hadn't been deliberately teasing her? Was he just getting into character for the role? Most of her resentment dissipated instantly, and she whispered, "Oh, thank you, Brother Feng." But she couldn't help muttering, "But you and Weiwei lied to me together, that's bullying."
She puffed out her cheeks, her eyes showing a hint of defiance. Seeing her like this, I couldn't help but laugh: "Okay, okay, I won't tease you next time. Consider it my apology. I'll treat you to milk tea tonight."
"real?"
"real."
Tian Xiwei, standing nearby, witnessed the entire scene and felt a surge of annoyance. "Hmph, they offered to buy me milk tea, but not me?"
She pouted, and the roasted sweet potato skin in her hand didn't smell so good anymore. But then she thought that she had just been praised during filming that morning, so there was no need to throw a tantrum now. She suppressed her displeasure and muttered to herself: "Favoritism."
Liu Haochun was in excellent form during the afternoon filming. The scene she was playing involved her best friend discovering that her "brother" was always nagging her, complaining that she walked too slowly, controlling her snacks, and even going through her diary.
According to the script, she was supposed to gradually change from "It's so nice to have a brother" to "This brother is so annoying" and finally roll her eyes at him.
In the scene, Liu Haochun initially listened to "Lin Feng" nagging with a smile, her eyes showing a hint of dependence. However, when "Lin Feng" said for the third time, "Your backpack is too heavy, let me help you carry it," she suddenly frowned and took a step back.
He muttered, "It's none of your business, I can take it myself." The disdain in his tone was exactly the same as the expression he had when he was choked by houttuynia cordata at noon, so natural that it seemed like he was really annoyed.
"Cut! Perfect!" After calling "cut," he led the applause, "Haochun's acting in this scene was so spot-on, the emotional transitions were so natural, that's exactly the feeling!"
Liu Haochun blushed, feeling a little smug. It turned out that the feeling of being teased could actually be useful. Although Brother Feng was mischievous, his methods were quite effective.
She glanced at Tian Xiwei furtively, wanting to share her joy, but saw that Tian Xiwei was looking down at the script, her expression blank.
Tian Xiwei felt a little uneasy. He'd just praised her, and then turned around and showered Liu Haochun with praise—wasn't Feng-ge being a bit too fair?
No, when it's my turn to film, I have to act even better and show him who's the best. She gripped the script tightly, a surge of determination welling up inside her.
Soon it was Tian Xiwei's turn to act. In this scene, Shi Miao saw her "brother" helping her best friend open a bottle again, and even said with a smile, "Drink slowly, don't choke." The jealousy of having something taken away was about to burst out of her eyes.
As the clapperboard fell, Tian Xiwei's expression changed instantly. She stood not far away, looking at "Lin Feng" and Liu Haochun, her lips pressed tightly together, her eyes filled with a mixture of resentment and grievance.
When "Raymond Lam" turned to look at her, she immediately turned her face away and deliberately kicked a pebble loudly at her feet. Her sour tone didn't seem like acting at all.
"Cut! That's a wrap!" Yin said with a smile. "Weiwei's acting in this scene was superb. That jealous look in her eyes was so perfect, it felt like it came straight from her heart."
Tian Xiwei couldn't hide her smugness; a smirk crept onto her lips, but she deliberately kept a straight face and said, "Of course, look who's acting in it."
But just a couple of seconds later, Lin Feng walked up to Liu Haochun, pointed at the monitor and said to her, "Look here, the timing of your eye-rolling was perfect, it would have been even better if it had been more natural..." The two were very close, and Liu Haochun listened attentively, occasionally nodding and smiling.
The smile on Tian Xiwei's face slowly faded. She watched the two figures disappear into the distance, and a sudden unease crept into her heart.
In the drama, the older brother becomes the best friend; off-screen, it seems Feng Ge is also becoming more and more interested in Liu Haochun. Could she... really steal Feng Ge away too?
As soon as the thought popped into her head, she quickly shook her head, trying to shake it off, but she couldn't suppress the bitterness in her heart.
After listening to Lin Feng finish explaining the play, Liu Haochun looked up and met Tian Xiwei's gaze. Seeing that her eyes were a little complicated, he smiled and waved to her.
Tian Xi was slightly taken aback, and quickly waved back, but the thought still lingered in her mind: What is she laughing at? Does she think she has won against me?
He also noticed Tian Xiwei's expression, walked over, and patted her on the shoulder: "What are you thinking about? Get ready for the next scene and try to get it in one take."
"I understand." Tian Xi lowered her head slightly, her voice a little muffled.
Looking at her, he deliberately said, "Haochun was just praising you, saying that your jealousy was so convincing that she was infected by it."
Tian Xiwei looked up abruptly: "Really?"
"Really, she said she wants to learn from you."
Tian Xiwei's eyes lit up instantly, the bitterness in her heart vanished immediately, and the corners of her mouth turned up again: "Of course, don't you know who I am?"
Liu Haochun watched from afar and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Tian Xiwei smile again. He had thought she was unhappy, but it seemed he had been overthinking it.
She glanced down at the script, pondering the details of the next scene, thinking that she must work even harder and not fall behind.
Sitting at her desk that evening, with the script spread out and a pen in hand, Shi Miao was pondering the emotional moments of the scene where the siblings reconcile the next day. She finally understood her brother's good intentions; she needed Tian Xiwei to capture that feeling of guilt and heartache even more precisely.
The pen tip drew a circle on the paper, and just as I was about to write a note, I heard a knock on the door. The knock was light and rhythmic, and I knew it was Tian Xiwei.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Tian Xi poked her head in, holding a math workbook in her hands, a slightly ingratiating smile on her face: "Brother Feng, busy?"
"I was just about to take a break." She put down her pen, pointed to the chair next to her, and asked, "Is something wrong?"
"Well..." She put the workbook on the table, opened it to a page, and said, "I don't know how to do these problems. Can you explain them to me? My math teacher is too fierce. I'm sure I'll get scolded if I ask her."
He glanced at the questions; they were all word problems about functions, not too difficult. He picked up his pen, about to speak, when he suddenly remembered something: "Where's Haochun? Wasn't he with you?"
"She's practicing dance in her room," Tian Xiwei waved her hand dismissively. "She practices every day, saying she can't neglect her basics. Who cares? Hurry up and explain the problem to me, or my mom will call to check up on me later."
She moved her chair closer to the desk, and a faint scent of shampoo wafted over.
He cleared his throat and began to explain: "Look at this problem. First, set up the unknown variable to express the total distance, then set up the equation based on the time difference..."
He spoke carefully, and Tian Xiwei listened attentively, but her eyes kept wandering, glancing at his profile from time to time.
After explaining a problem, she suddenly asked out of the blue, "Brother Feng, tell me... between me and Liu Haochun, who do you think is more obedient?"
He paused for a moment, then chuckled, "Why are you asking this? Focus on your problem."
