Huayu: Don't force me to be a master

Chapter 124 One poke and it's broken

Chapter 124 One poke and it's broken

At 2 PM, Qian Lang entered the filming location for the first time.

The apartment is on the third floor of an old building in Brooklyn. It has two bedrooms and a living room and is fully furnished.

The living room wasn't large; the sofa was dark blue, and opposite it was a TV cabinet with a bookshelf next to it displaying several paperback books. The bedroom was at the end of the hallway, with a large bed and a lamp on the bedside table.

The curtains are off-white; when drawn halfway, the outside light shines in, casting soft patches of light on the floor.

There was a faint lemon scent in the air, probably from when the homeowner cleaned before leaving.

Qian Lang walked around the house, looking at every corner of the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.

Then he stood in the middle of the living room, closed his eyes, and imagined where the camera was placed, where the light came from, and where the sound came from.

Gradually, images began to unfold in my mind one by one.

He opened his eyes and said to Zhang Ying.

"This is it."

Zhang Ying nodded.

For the next three days, Qian Lang kept giving Micah and Katie acting instructions, while Zhang Ying translated.

On the first day, the two listened very carefully.

The next day, after Katie arrived, she said that she always felt like someone was watching her in the bathroom mirror at night.

Micah still didn't care.

On the third day, both Micah and Katie started to become suspicious.

Katie even said she regretted taking the job, and now she's afraid to go out at night.

Qian Lang wanted this kind of emotion.

Filming began on the third day.

Qian Lang didn't have a script, only a piece of paper with the general plot of what needed to be filmed each day written on it.

He told Micah and Katie.

"You don't need to memorize lines. Just know what happened, and how to react is up to you."

The plot of the first day is simple: a couple moves into a new home, feels something is going on at night, and decides to film it.

Qian Lang handed the camera to Micah and taught him how to use it.

Micah was filming inside the house with a camera, while Katie was tidying up her things.

Qian Lang sat behind the monitor, watching the screen. Zhang Ying sat next to him, responsible for translation and communication.

"Tell him to move a little to the left."

"Let him tap out the window."

"Make her turn around and look at you."

The picture quality is poor, the lighting is inconsistent, and the sound was recorded live, making it very rough.

But as Qian Lang watched the monitor, the corners of his mouth slowly curled up.

He knew that was the right thing to do.

On the fourth day, we started filming the "movements".

Qian Lang asked Zhang Ying to string a rope down the floor in the next room and mop it.

Micah was filming in the living room when she heard the noise, so she went over with her camera to check.

Zhang Ying pulled the rope, and Micah rushed into the room, but there was nothing there.

He turned to look at Qian Lang, who pointed to the ceiling. Micah looked up, the camera pointed at the ceiling—there was nothing there.

.......

The seventh day, the last show.

At three in the morning, everyone was sleepy.

Micah sat on the bed, holding a camera and pointing it at the door.

Katie was asleep, her breathing was very light.

Micah yawned and rubbed her eyes.

Then he heard a sound.

It came from the corridor, very light, like footsteps.

He sat up straight, and the camera was pointed at the door.

The sound was getting closer.

He swallowed hard and looked back at Katie.

Katie is still asleep.

He turned around—there was nothing at the doorway.

He breathed a sigh of relief and put down the camera.

Then he saw a person standing at the foot of the bed.

......

"Card!"

Qian Lang shouted.

Micah put the camera on the bed, stood up, walked to the window, and lit a cigarette.

My hands are still shaking.

Katie sat on the bed, hugging the blanket, looking down the hallway, without saying a word.

Zhang Ying looked at Qian Lang, her lips moved, but she didn't say anything.

Qian Lang stood up, walked over to Micah, and patted him on the shoulder.

"Good job."

Micah gave him a smile that was even uglier than a grimace.

Qian Lang turned around, looked at Zhang Ying, and smiled!

Zhang Ying rolled her eyes at him.

She wasn't afraid because she was a Party member.

However, she witnessed firsthand how the two actors were terrified.

She estimated that both of them would suffer psychological trauma.

By the time we finished work, it was already dawn.

Zhang Ying paid each of them $1000 and got rid of them.

The two then began to tidy up.

"Will this movie be any good?"

Zhang Ying asked as she cleaned the house.

A movie shot in 7 days?

She was very skeptical.

"I don't know, I'll just take the photos, how you sell them is your business."

Qian Lang was tidying up some tools.

"Alright, once you're done, I'll send it to Lionsgate. One of my senior colleagues works there as a senior executive."

"Yeah, I knew you had connections. By the way, this movie isn't going to be sold; it's going to be a revenue-sharing arrangement. You'll have to negotiate the revenue-sharing."

We'd lose a lot of money if we sold this.

Especially copyright.

He seemed to remember that a sequel was filmed later.

"You seem quite confident. Let's go, I'm exhausted."

"Um!"

The two cleaned the house thoroughly, and Zhang Ying even left a small gift for the host.

After leaving the house, I found a convenience store and had breakfast.

Go home and sleep!

The next day, Qian Lang entered the editing room.

Seven days later, the two found a screening room and watched the finished film together.

Horror movies, lonely men and women...

Zhang Ying soon snuggled into Qian Lang's arms.

It wasn't ambiguous; she was genuinely terrified.

Even though she was a materialist, she was really frightened this time.

"Zhang Ying, are you giving me a signal, or are you genuinely scared?"

Qian Lang said softly.

"Get lost, you scared me to death, don't talk."

As Zhang Ying spoke, her gaze remained fixed on the screen.

He's a typical person who has a huge craving for food.

By the time the movie ended, Zhang Ying's legs were still weak.

But his eyes were wide open.

These seven days of movies seem to have something special about them.

"Qian Lang, aren't you giving me too many shares?"

The two started a shell company, and Qian Lang gave her 20% of the shares.

Zhang Ying didn't pay any attention at first.

Now, however, a reassessment is necessary.

If even a D. member like her was so frightened, one can imagine how some Americans would react.

In other words, this movie has a high chance of being a success.

"Hey, what's our relationship? This little bit of money is nothing!"

Qian Lang said.

But he was holding something in his hand.

"Take your paws off."

Zhang Ying cursed and pushed away the strange hand in front of her chest.

She was scared just now, and soon she snuggled into Qian Lang's arms.

I never expected that this bastard would just start hitting me.

Fear, nervousness, shyness...

But now he's quitting.

"hey-hey!"

Qian Lang smiled and even put his hand to his nose to smell it.

Hmm, it does have a faint, pleasant fragrance.

Zhang Ying blushed and glared at him.

These past few days, the two have been inseparable, except when they're sleeping.

Some things are separated by only a thin sheet of paper; once you poke at them, the truth is revealed!

"When are you going back?"

Zhang Ying leaned back into Qian Lang's arms and spoke.

"In the next couple of days."

Qian Lang said.

He has been in New York for almost 20 days. Although nothing major has happened back home, he is still a little worried about it.

In particular, with the release dates for "Cellphone" and "Nightclub" already announced, he's going back to make waves.

"Um!"

Zhang Ying answered softly.

Then he looked up at Qian Lang.

Qian Lang slowly lowered his head.

Zhang Ying closed her eyes.
