Chapter 1 Forced
Chapter 1 Forced
"Beep...beep...beep..."
Zheng Hui, awakened from his sleep, opened his eyes to find the doorbell ringing. He nudged the girl still fast asleep beside him, and once she was a little more awake, pointed to the door: "It's been ringing for ages, is someone looking for you?"
The girl yawned and got out of bed to check the doorbell. As soon as she answered, she saw the screen and immediately stood up straight, her eyes lighting up: "What brings you here?"
Zheng Hui couldn't see the video doorbell, but he sensed a dangerous undertone in her words and didn't dare to move a muscle on the bed.
The doorbell rang indistinctly, but Zheng Hui clearly heard the girl's last words: "I'm going downstairs to throw out the trash and I'll pick you up on the way."
As soon as the girl hung up the doorbell, she hurriedly tidied up the room, saying to Zheng Hui as she did so, "This is my boyfriend. He came to bring me porridge, but the security door is blocking the way. Please help me tidy up quickly, and when you come down, pretend you don't know me."
Zheng Hui didn't care why she suddenly had a boyfriend, and immediately started tidying up the room with her.
I got dressed, opened the window, and cleaned up the leftover oysters and barbecue from last night. I took out the condoms, packaging bags, and other suspicious items from the trash can, put them in a tissue, and put them in my pocket. If I could get away, I would find a place to throw them away.
After tidying up, the two of them found nothing suspicious. Zheng Hui handed the takeout bag and the cleaned trash bag to the girl, and the two of them silently walked towards the elevator.
Down on the first floor, the girl went ahead to open the apartment door, with Zheng Hui following behind. As soon as she opened the door, she started talking to a young man wearing glasses and carrying a KFC delivery bag. Zheng Hui pretended to be someone from the same apartment building rushing to work and hurriedly brushed past them.
Looking back after walking a distance, I saw that the girl had probably finished throwing away the trash and was holding hands with the young man as they entered the apartment.
Zheng Hui found his car parked in the roadside parking space, got in, and breathed a sigh of relief. He turned on the air conditioner, took out a couple of tissues to wipe his sweat, and after regaining his composure, drove off to find breakfast.
Zheng Hui had known this girl for over a month. The two met on social media and, after a few meals and drinks together, Zheng Hui invited her to visit Wuzhen.
On the first night, the two of them had a few drinks at a small bar in the scenic area. After returning to the hotel in the scenic area, everything that was going to happen did happen. The next day, he changed to a double room.
Although they had done everything, the girl hadn't introduced him to any friends or posted anything on her social media. He understood that it was just another case of mutual benefit, so he didn't ask any further questions.
Last night, he took a girl to a hot spring resort in the suburbs. They soaked until around 8 PM, and were supposed to go upstairs to do some exercise and work up a sweat. The girl suddenly received a notification that her company had a document that they needed for work the next morning.
If they went back to the city the next morning, they would have to get up at four or five in the morning, otherwise, with the journey and traffic, they definitely wouldn't be able to arrive on time. So the two of them decided to go back to the city and stay at the girl's house for the night.
And that's how the scene at the beginning happened.
After Zheng Hui drove home around noon, he received a message from the girl.
It turns out she already had a boyfriend, and the two were in a long-distance relationship. She met Zheng Hui through social media just as they were having a minor argument.
She and Zheng Hui had a pleasant chat, so they went out for dinner. The trip to Wuzhen was also something Zheng Hui wanted to do; he had already arranged the flights, hotels, and itinerary. She had wanted to go there for a long time, and seeing how well Zheng Hui had planned it—even a twin room—she decided to go, hoping for the best.
After Zheng Hui succeeded in taking advantage of her, she didn't know what to say. In addition, her boyfriend quickly coaxed her back and promised to move to this city soon. The two reconciled, and she didn't know what to say. She just dragged it out day by day.
Unexpectedly, her boyfriend had annual leave and wanted to bring her a homemade breakfast today, so...
What could Zheng Hui say? He's just a blond guy, he has no right to say anything. Just delete and block him.
He tossed his phone onto the bedside table, and Zheng Hui lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
How many have you talked to in the past few years? Seven? Eight?
Aside from her first love, the others either treated him like an ATM or as a backup plan. The one this morning was even more outrageous; he actually became involved with a blond guy.
Perhaps the only advantage is that he is an orphan, and in Fujian, there are no parents pressuring him to get married.
"Am I a complete failure?" he asked the air, but no one answered.
Zheng Hui picked up his phone, skillfully opened the novel app with the red icon, wanting to find a book to read and escape reality. He randomly opened one and read two chapters.
"What kind of crap is this?"
Zheng Hui cursed, exited, and opened another book.
"Is this protagonist out of his mind?"
He exited again and tried five or six more books, but he couldn't get into any of them.
"How about I write it myself? I can write something I enjoy, something I want to read."
Once the thought popped into his head, he couldn't stop it. Zheng Hui threw off the covers and got out of bed.
He walked to the computer desk and pressed the power button on the computer case. He opened his browser and typed in the search box: "How to write a web novel".
Press Enter, and a bunch of results will pop up on the webpage.
The three golden chapters, the cheat system, and the outline template.
Zheng Hui clicked on a few and looked at them, then scratched his head: "You need an outline? Then write an outline."
He created a new Word document, and the sound of typing filled the air.
Book Title: ...
Zheng Hui stopped. He decided to think about the title later and deleted that line.
"Rebirth, time point: 2002."
"02 was great! The Korea-Japan World Cup was happening, and there was also a sports lottery. Even the worst lotteries can't compare to the shady practices in Korea; no matter how you bet, the stakes are fixed, and you can easily win millions."
Zheng Hui became more and more excited as he spoke, his eyes fixed on the screen.
"What's the point of having money?"
"Going into real estate? Fine, you want to get into that? What are you thinking?"
"Get into the internet? I don't understand code."
He remembered the novels he had just been reading.
"Hua Yu, yes, go into the entertainment industry, it's full of beautiful women."
"Then what are you doing?"
Actors? Actors are also subject to unspoken rules. Even Little Li Flying Dagger had Aunt Ximen, right? The Wang brothers seem to have one who's into men, too dangerous, let's forget about it.
Singing? Piracy was rampant even before the millennium; what songs could he possibly sing? Besides, there aren't many easy women to date as a singer. Should he try to date Stefanie Sun?
"Go become a director. The director is the boss of the film crew; they can sexually harass whoever they want."
He typed a few lines into the document:
Career Path: Director
[Development plan: First, make art films to win awards, then move on to commercial films, finally Hollywood, and then buy some Tencent and hog farm stock.]
"It's not enough to just be reborn and immediately be able to make movies; there needs to be a cheat code to make it more believable."
"Golden Finger Setting: Omnipotent Director System"
"All directing skills are at their maximum level. Cinematic language, lighting and composition, color usage, mise-en-scène, editing, music composition, and scriptwriting are all at their maximum level."
"That's not enough. The most important thing is training the actors. Those pretty actresses with no acting skills have to rely on me to train them."
"How to train them? That's the art. Enjoy."
"If you can train acting skills, how can a director who doesn't understand acting teach actors?"
"Jiang Wen, Zhang Yimou, aren't they both Best Actor winners? I want to win Best Actor too."
Skill Supplement: Acting skills maxed out.
Zheng Hui looked at the words on the screen and nodded in satisfaction.
"That's unbeatable. Every movie he makes becomes a hit, and he wins awards left and right."
Those images began to appear in his mind.
Zheng Hui swallowed.
"You have to be in good health. Being a director is physically demanding; how can you do it if you're not healthy?"
He typed the following on the last line of the document:
[Body Enhancement: Maxed-out physical fitness, unlimited stamina.]
"Perfect."
Looking at the outline in the document, Zheng Hui felt like he had become a powerful director who could command the wind and rain. What did his low status in reality matter?
In this document, he is God.
Zheng Hui began writing the main text, pressing the Enter key and leaving a few lines blank.
Chapter One: Dream Back
He was about to write 2002, but before he could even type the year, his hand had just touched the numeric keypad when a horn suddenly blared.
Zheng Hui was so startled that his hand trembled, and he accidentally entered the number 98. He turned his head to look at it.
The instant he turned his head, a bright white light shone on his face, and Zheng Hui instinctively raised his hand to shield his eyes.
With a roar, he struggled to open his eyes and saw that outside the window was not a blue sky, but the front of a car.
The car has a red front and a five-pointed star logo.
Dayun Heavy Truck!!!
Zheng Hui felt like he was flying, and he saw the Word document he had just written.
Chapter 1: A Dream Back to 1998
Zheng Hui's consciousness began to blur, and the last thought flashed through his mind:
"Dude... this is the sixteenth floor... how did you get up here???"
