How I Pampered the Tyrant Into Devotion With My Space

Chapter 361: Obsession

Chapter 361: Obsession

Shen Wanqing didn’t say anything unnecessary. She knew Shu’er wouldn’t abandon her, and speaking now would only distract Shu’er.

Zhen Xu was trailing behind leisurely, as if he was enjoying the process of the hunt.

Pei Shu’er quickly ran into the dense forest and hid with Shen Wanqing.

The two hid quite discreetly, yet Zhen Xu’s footsteps were gradually approaching them.

Shen Wanqing was becoming increasingly tense. Just as she was about to speak, she felt a pain in her neck; Pei Shu’er knocked her out again and left her in the spatial realm.

Zhen Xu’s shoes stopped beside the bush where Pei Shu’er was hiding. He reached out a white hand and slowly parted the grass.

His voice was like a clear spring: "Struggling is useless, you will return to the Western Paradise sooner or later."

"I mean no harm; I’m merely here to help you escape this filthy world."

As he spoke, he sounded as if he were a great benefactor, yet his actions aimed to take Pei Shu’er’s life.

The difference between them was too great, and Pei Shu’er wasn’t foolish enough to try to outwit him.

However, when he parted the bushes, there wasn’t a soul in sight, only traces of someone having been there.

Zhen Xu frowned. He noticed that whenever he was about to catch his destined opponent, that person could disappear suddenly.

He was sure that those two women were here just now.

Pei Shu’er, seeing Zhen Xu standing nearby deep in thought, couldn’t help but feel a bit speechless.

It wasn’t until the third day that Zhen Xu stood watch around the area, taking out dry food from his pouch and elegantly nibbling on it without much expression.

Zhen Xu was at leisure, which made Pei Shu’er even more so. In the vast space, she had all the daily necessities she could wish for.

While Zhen Xu could only eat dry food, she could cook all kinds of delicious dishes in her spatial realm, accompanied by white rice.

As for Shen Wanqing and the two others, she fed them nutrient solutions with a syringe.

Anyway, they wouldn’t starve, and their nutrition was assured.

It wasn’t until the fifth day that Zhen Xu left, but Pei Shu’er didn’t dare to show up; given Zhen Xu’s nature, who knew if he would ambush around.

Not until the tenth day did Pei Shu’er reappear.

Afterward, she hurried to the path she had found before.

She didn’t walk directly on the path but stayed around it. As long as she could see it, the direction would be right.

On the way, Pei Shu’er encountered Zhen Xu several times, but before he could discover her, she would retreat into the spatial realm.

Thus, after on-and-off traveling for ten days, she finally appeared within the borders of the Dazi territory.

Pei Shu’er disguised herself as a Dazi youth, bought a horse from the Dada people midway, and then rode towards the Gulan Military Camp.

She had been gone for nearly two months this time and didn’t know how things were at Gulan Military Camp.

However, along the way, as she passed by the Tazi Camp, she noticed a third of the soldiers were missing from drills, and most of the remaining bore injuries.

Pei Shu’er dared not linger and crossed the Gulan River, finally seeing the city gates of Gulan Military Camp.

From a distance, she released Shen Wanqing and washed off her disguise to reveal her true appearance.

Pei Shu’er positioned Shen Wanqing in front, while she sat behind. They reached Gulan Military Camp, where the soldiers stopped them.

"Halt, this is a military zone; unauthorized personnel are forbidden entry."

When Pei Shu’er dismounted, the guards were initially startled, then they were speechless.

Pei Shu’er smiled and said, "Surely, I can enter now."

The squad leader of the guards nodded repeatedly, his eyes a bit teary.

Such a good General’s Wife, was she resurrected from death?

They had all heard that the General’s Wife fell to the bottom of a cliff and was turned to ashes by lightning; how could she return now?

After the General’s Wife left, the General went mad, insisting on attacking the Tazi Camp.

Under his command, Gulan Military Camp’s soldiers did not suffer heavy losses, but facing the Tazi directly was terrifying for Gulan’s soldiers.

This month, Dayan Soldiers advanced rapidly; their combat strength and fighting quality improved significantly.

Yet, everyone suffered immensely.

Many martial arts experts were sent one batch after another to the cliff bottom to find the General’s Wife. Even though the General witnessed her vanishing into thin air, he refused to give up.

They felt their General had gone a bit mad.

He had turned from a normal person into a murderous maniac, always charging into enemy ranks, leaving Dazi corpses in his wake.

His whole aura turned chillingly cold, and during this period, no one could converse with him.

Apart from fighting and killing, he shut himself in the General’s Tent; no one knew what he was doing but noticed his hands were covered with countless wounds initially.

Later, the wounds healed, yet he became even more gloomy.

His state evolved from initial hysteria to becoming a cold-blooded maniac.

Anyone previously related to Pei Shu’er’s supposed death was captured and tortured brutally, skinned alive.

Listening to their cries of agony, he seemed to relish it, an odd peace momentarily crossing his face.

Moreover, his martial skills improved greatly, yet he always vomited blood after killing people. The army medic said it was due to extreme grief driving him insane.

He appeared abnormal, yet shockingly never made a mistake in military directives.

Just as Pei Shu’er was about to enter, she heard hoofbeats from afar, abruptly stopping nearby.

Pei Shu’er felt it was strange and quickly turned around, seeing that the lead was indeed Tang Zan.

His face was even paler, he appeared thinner, a visible chilling aura surrounding him.

He stood there, blankly staring at her back, until Pei Shu’er turned, causing his pupils to contract. He swiftly dismounted and approached her.

With each step, Pei Shu’er sensed an impending storm; instinctively, she wanted to retreat.

But upon seeing his face, Pei Shu’er realized she missed him more than she had imagined.

She swallowed, her throat moving, feeling a bit tearful.

Back then, she didn’t have time to communicate her plan to Tang Zan, so he must have believed her dead. He must have been heartbroken.

When Tang Zan finally stood before her, his dark eyes quietly fixed on hers, Pei Shu’er felt ensnared, suffocated by an unseen net.

She gently reached out to Tang Zan, her mouth forming a soft smile, while an ache rose at her nose.

Her voice was soft and tender, like a lover’s coquetry.

"Tang Zan."

She missed him dearly.

As these words escaped her lips, Pei Shu’er noticed Tang Zan’s body tremble. In his eyes, a storm seemed to be brewing.

When Pei Shu’er’s hand touched the edge of Tang Zan’s clothing, the violence in his eyes evaporated; his eyes turned bloodshot as he looked at her.

Tang Zan’s magnetic voice was hoarse, as though he hadn’t spoken in ages.

"You said you wouldn’t leave me, but you left me anyway."

Pei Shu’er opened her mouth, about to offer an explanation when Tang Zan grabbed her hand, an intense obsession and pain reflected in his eyes.

"I watched you get struck by lightning with my own eyes, but still I didn’t believe it. I searched for you for sixty days, a full sixty days."

His dark eyes were so bloodshot they seemed to drip crimson. Suddenly, Tang Zan smiled.

Strangely, Pei Shu’er found this more terrifying.

His voice was gentle, like a lover’s whisper, yet his words exuded madness to the core.

"Pei Shu’er, tell me, how do I keep you by my side?"
