Chapter 827: What Did She Say to You?
Charlotte felt a bit resentful in her heart, but when the maid handed over the ginseng soup, she couldn’t help but feel happy because of Robert Stephens’ thoughtful gesture.
The ginseng soup had a strong ginseng taste and was slightly bitter, but Charlotte still held her nose and drank it all up.
The maid smilingly handed her a candy, then went out with the bowl to report to Robert Stephens.
Charlotte sat on the bed, chewing on the candy in her mouth, the sweet taste of the fructose dissolving the bitterness in her mouth, and also lifting the lingering gloom in her heart.

In the evening, Robert Stephens returned very late.
He quietly opened the door and saw that Charlotte was already asleep. After taking a shower in the bathroom, he came out to find Charlotte sitting at the bedside.
The gentle light in the room bathed the woman dressed lightly in a warm orange glow, making her look very tender.
Robert’s voice was uncharacteristically gentle: "What’s wrong? Did I wake you?"
Charlotte shook her head, looked at him, and softly asked, "I haven’t slept. Why are you back so late?"
She had waited for a long time and almost thought he wasn’t coming home tonight.
Upon hearing this, Robert chuckled softly, walked over, and said, "Isn’t it because you were disobedient, causing me to waste a week?"
Although his tone seemed to be complaining, his voice sounded gentle.
Charlotte couldn’t help but look up at Robert’s eyes; they held a smile, soft and gentle, the hazy light in the room making his deep eyes turn gentle.
She couldn’t help but feel a bit moved, yet disgusted at herself for swaying so easily. Charlotte recalled what the maid had said in the morning, and she couldn’t help but bring it up now.
"Your relationship with Janet Madison isn’t good anymore?"
"Mm." Robert responded blandly, "Something happened."
"What happened?"
"Do you really not know?"
"Does it have anything to do with me?"
Robert was silent for a while, looking at Charlotte’s innocent expression, not knowing what to say.
This woman, should she be called naive or ruthless?
She caused such a deep cut on someone’s wrist, yet still isn’t aware of the trouble she’s stirred up?
Robert slowly said, "Janet Madison is the most beloved young daughter of the Madison family, and recently, while traveling, she was kidnapped by thugs, and someone even cut her wrist with a knife. Now the Madison family is searching everywhere for that kidnapper."
He paused for a moment, then said, "Though I’ve hidden that kidnapper, the Madison family’s resentment is now being borne by me."
After getting pregnant, Charlotte’s mind wasn’t as sharp as before. Robert’s explanation finally made her realize she seemed to have really gotten into a big, big mess.
Charlotte said, "She deserved it."
"What?" Robert thought he misheard her.
"She deserved it." Charlotte showed no sign of introspection, "If you want to get married, go ahead, what does it have to do with me? She came to threaten me, was I supposed to just wait to die?"
Robert couldn’t help but laugh, "When did I say I was going to marry her? Whatever are you imagining all day long, really..."
Charlotte was stunned for a moment, looked up at the man’s face, and Robert realized something too, laughed a few times, then gradually restrained his smile.
He frowned and asked, "What did she tell you?"
"..." Charlotte bit her lip, stared at Robert for a while, and said, "Aren’t you supposed to get married next month?"
