Chapter 812: Driven Mad by Robert Stephens Long Ago
Janet let out a short scream, quickly frightened to the point where she couldn’t even make a sound.
In disbelief, she opened her eyes wide, looking at her cut wrist, the wound was deep, the flesh gaping, blood almost splattering, soiling Charlotte’s hands and even wetting the floor.
Her throat made a few gasping sounds, unable to scream, Janet had never gone through something like this before, her eyes rolled back about to pass out, but Charlotte pressed the blade on her wrist coldly threatening, "Stay awake, or I’ll cut your hand off."
Janet managed to hold on, staring at her wrist spilling blood, her face pale, helpless and despairing, looking at Charlotte holding the knife.
In her life, all the most terrifying experiences combined probably weren’t as real and horrifying as this moment.
"You better behave from now on," Charlotte pressed down on her wrist wound, she looked like someone used to blood, unaffected by the sight that would make anyone weak at the knees, "or I’ll really kill you."
"..." Janet tightly bit her lip, sobbing, but dared not cry out loud.
At this moment, she was just an ordinary twenty-year-old girl, no longer high and mighty facing Charlotte as when she first came in.
Desperately nodding her head, she attempted to win Charlotte’s trust, "I-I’ll behave."
Charlotte said, "In a moment, you’ll call your family to reassure them. I’ll make that call for you, if you dare say anything reckless, I won’t survive, then you can die with me."
"Okay, okay..." Janet, growing weaker, nodded, her lips pale, "I’ll do as you say, just stop the bleeding for me..."
Charlotte glanced at her coldly, set down the blood-stained knife, turned around and dragged out a medical case from the floor.
Her movements were unhurried, but Janet was already exhausted, her vision started to darken.
She was really going to die, killed by this woman...
Tears flowed even more fiercely from her.
Charlotte hadn’t severed her artery, after bleeding heavily, her wound was actually almost coagulated.
Intentionally leaving unsaid, she simply wrapped Janet’s wrist with a bandage, then handed her an anti-inflammatory pill.
Janet, fearing for her life, swallowed the pill immediately upon receiving it from Charlotte, then lay on the bed constantly trembling with chills.
Severe blood loss made her weak and cold, now she couldn’t even lift a bowl to smash at Charlotte, let alone tear apart the cloth to escape.
Charlotte paid her no mind, she grabbed a cloth to clean up the mess on the floor, sweeping away the leftover food and bloodstains.
"You’re out of food for today."
Charlotte said to Janet, "I’ll bring you food tomorrow."
Having said that, she turned and left.
Janet watched her back, terrified and fearful, and finally broke down sobbing as Charlotte closed the door.
Charlotte went to the room next door to take a shower, dried her hair, then stood before the full-length mirror to look at her own face.
She still had the appearance of a teenage girl, but within her eyes was already the soul of a mature woman.
She lowered her head, gazing at her still flat abdomen.
Inside there, nurtured an unborn child.
If she were clearer-headed, she would never choose to bring it into this world.
Yet...
Robert Stephens had already driven her insane.
