Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 576: Divorce!

Chapter 576: Divorce!

A month later, Daisy Ginger and James Shelton quietly got their divorce certificate at the civil affairs bureau.

In the golden autumn of October, the weather was already chilly. James walked out of the civil affairs bureau and looked at Daisy frowning ahead of him.

She wasn’t wearing business attire today; instead, she had on a loose brown sweatshirt in a very laid-back manner. The neckline was somewhat large, revealing her delicate collarbones and slender neck.

Her steps seemed light, and she walked forward for about ten steps, seemingly noticing he hadn’t caught up, so she paused and looked back.

"James?" she called out, "What’s wrong?"

For some reason, he felt sad, somewhat unable to face her.

James didn’t speak, he continued to stand at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau. Many couples were here to get married today, and his outstanding appearance caught the crowd’s attention.

Daisy saw his uneasy expression and walked up to tug him, "Come on, let’s talk in the car, okay?"

James remained silent, only looking down at Daisy holding his hand. After a while, he finally asked, "When are you leaving?"

"After the company goes public," Daisy replied softly.

"In half a month?"

"In half a month."

James lowered his head and suddenly reached out, gently enveloping her in his embrace.

Daisy was slightly stunned, feeling James’s restrained breath but didn’t push him away.

At the entrance of the civil affairs bureau, a couple stood in a happy embrace.

This was the scene in everyone’s eyes.

"Will I still get to see Erin?"

"Of course." Daisy patted this stepfather on the back, understanding he was reluctant to part with Erin, "Let me know whenever you come by, and I’ll bring Erin to meet you."

"That little brat Erin probably won’t be all that thrilled to see me," James replied, his voice sounding a bit muffled, "brat."

Insulting her son as a brat right in front of her, this guy certainly had some guts.

Daisy couldn’t help but laugh, "He’s not, he really likes you."

"Really?"

"Honestly." Daisy chuckled softly, "He just enjoys teasing you."

"..."

Daisy gently patted James’s back, "I need to go back to the office, what about you?"

"Going home to rest a bit. It’s quite a blow...I’m feeling a bit dizzy," James looked up, seeming rather dispirited.

Daisy acknowledged, "I’ll drive you home then."

"No need, I’ll grab a cab," James shook his head, "You have things to do, go ahead."

Releasing him, Daisy took a step back, looked at James for a moment, then nodded to him, "I’m leaving then."

With that, she truly turned and left.

The faint scent of roses gradually faded away. James stood there, watching Daisy’s car disappear in the distance, and then took out the stamped marriage certificate from his pocket, looking at it for a while.

He didn’t feel much when he first received it, but now that it was gone, the sense of loss hit hard.

He opened the marriage certificate and glanced at their wedding photo, feeling a faint regret.

If he hadn’t insisted on the divorce, he and Daisy could have...

He sighed lightly.

Better to part on good terms; they could still be friends in the future. Otherwise, it could be so bad they wouldn’t even remain friends.

The day Daisy left was also the day Royal Entertainment successfully went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

While everyone at the company was congratulating each other, Daisy and Elena had already reached the airport.

"Jin Jin," Elena’s eyes were still red, and she had been quietly shedding tears along the way.

"Why are you crying? It’s not like we won’t see each other again." Daisy hugged her, "If you miss me at night, we can always video chat. I’m still in the country, after all, there’s no time difference."

"I’m just feeling sad," Elena sniffled, raising her red eyes that indeed resembled a bunny, "We won’t be able to see each other every day anymore."

"It’s alright, just call me when you miss me." Daisy felt very affectionate towards the young girl she had mentored. She stroked her hair and gently said, "Stay close with Genvieve; with her connections, you’ll have a bright future."

At that time, Daisy didn’t know how much achievement this weeping little girl in front of her would have in the future.

Standing on the world’s grandest award stage, the Oscar-winning actress would feel immense gratitude towards her first agent.

Elena sniffled, squatted down, and softly said to Erin, "Erin, I won’t be able to stay by your mom’s side anymore, so remind her to eat well."

With a serious expression, little Erin nodded.

Daisy smiled, glanced at the time, and said, "I need to go through security now. Sweetie, you have a variety show to shoot this afternoon, head back early and don’t keep Genvieve waiting."

Elena nodded, her voice hoarse, "Go on."

She stood still, watching Daisy leave with Erin.

Her eyes were stinging, and only after they had walked far did she turn around, just to see a silver sports car quietly parked a few meters behind her.

When she turned around and saw the man inside as the window rolled down, Elena was startled.

"Mr. Shelton..." She knew this young man was Daisy’s ex-husband, and actually her rightful boss.

"Have they gone?" James removed his sunglasses and asked.

Elena nodded, walked over, and said, "Just went in. Do you want to see her off?"

James shook his head.

The man’s gaze dropped, and beneath the sunlight, his handsome face looked somewhat stern, not at all happy.

Elena always thought that Daisy’s marriage was in name only, but seeing this man secretly come to see Daisy off made her realize—he probably... loved Daisy.

Still, for some reason, he couldn’t bring himself to express this to Daisy, not even showing up when she was flirting with Edward Stephens.

"Are you going back to the company?" James had regained his composure, "Get in, I’ll give you a ride."

Elena didn’t have the courage to have her superior drive her to work and immediately refused, "No, no need, Mr. Shelton, I can just grab a cab."

James had already opened the car door, "What are you afraid of? Why are you acting like a rabbit? She told me to take good care of you, saying you’ll be the future moneymaker for our company, I’m counting on you to make big money for me, so how can you be so timid?"

Elena cautiously climbed into the passenger seat and quietly asked, "Has Daisy ever spoken of me?"

"Of course," James replied as he drove, "She speaks highly of you. She always compliments you in front of me."

Elena lowered her eyes, and hearing James’s words, she smiled slightly with a bit of shyness.

James glanced at her face and was slightly stunned by her smiling demeanor.

Being around Daisy all the time, and overshadowed by Daisy’s beauty, he had always thought that this young girl looked quite plain. But now, away from Daisy’s aura, he realized that Elena was indeed attractive.

Attractive and memorable, already winning over eighty percent in the entertainment industry.

Daisy wasn’t wrong; she indeed left him with a real gold mine.

The future entertainment mogul James now pondered.
