Chapter 548: Do you think I am a dead person?

The curtains in the room were drawn, making the light appear dim.

Edward Stephens placed her on the bed, looking at her pale face, feeling a bit uneasy. He reached out to brush her cheek, speaking softly, "I’ll order some takeout for you."

Daisy Ginger said quietly, "I’m not really hungry."

It was true she had no appetite, her mind in turmoil. Under so much pressure, she felt the urge to escape.

"I’m hungry too." The man said steadily, "I haven’t eaten anything since this morning. Let’s eat something together."

With him saying that, Daisy couldn’t refuse any longer, so she agreed.

Edward went out to call a nearby restaurant and ordered a seafood noodle for Daisy, instructing the owner to send it over quickly. Then, after hesitating for a moment, he called Ryan Smith.

The call was picked up quickly.

Ryan’s voice sounded anxious and flustered, "Edward, did you see the news? A young actor from Royal Entertainment died, and Daisy she..."

"She’s with me." The man’s voice was low, "She’s not in a good mental state right now, can’t handle it alone. Help me contact the police; if they need any assistance, I can help here."

Ryan was stunned for a moment and immediately replied, "I understand, I’ll do it now."

Edward: "Thank you."

"... No trouble at all." Ryan paused, his voice slightly dry, "Thank you."

Some things didn’t need to be said between the two anymore. Edward said nothing further, and Ryan hung up. He stood at the door, waited for about ten minutes, and saw the delivery guy bringing the noodles he had just ordered. He thanked him, took the noodles, and placed them in the dining room inside.

"Time to eat."

He called to Daisy from her room, seeing her draped in a blanket sitting dazed on the bed, and went over to forcibly carry her out.

"I’ve asked Ryan to handle it." He handed her a pair of chopsticks, his slender fingers slowly unwrapping the plastic packaging, "Eat till you’re full, take a nap, and I’ll notify you if there’s any news."

Daisy took the chopsticks, hesitated, "But..."

The press conference, and Helen Hyde’s obituary, her family, and fans.

She had no time to rest.

There were still tough battles to fight.

"Is your company just you?" Edward shot her a cold glance, "No one to handle the PR crisis? Do they need you for everything, are they all just dead weight?"

"It’s not like that..." Daisy instinctively defended her company’s employees, "They are working very hard, it’s just that..."

"Give me your phone later, and I’ll contact your company people." Edward glared at her, interrupting, "You yourself need to see a psychologist, do you want to relapse and end up in a psychiatric hospital?"

"..." Daisy found herself speechless. She lowered her head, let out a soft "sigh," feeling a bit tired and helpless.

She felt she had become much more fragile than before, no longer as reckless and fearless, perhaps because she now had too many vulnerabilities, too many concerns.

In the past, she was alone, didn’t care about anything, but now, she feared if she fell, Erin would have no mother.

Edward sat down, picking out the seafood Daisy liked from the bowl while criticizing her, "You just have this bad habit, wanting to bear everything on your own, like you’re a savior or something."

Daisy couldn’t help but smile at his words, "Do I?"

"If you can’t bear something, why don’t you tell me? Do you see me as a dead person?"
