Chapter 523: What do you want to eat?
Chapter 523: What do you want to eat?
When Daisy Ginger arrived at the villa where Edward Stephens was staying with the food she bought, she found that this pig, Edward, was still sleeping!
Since all the servants in the villa were aware of the relationship between Edward Stephens and Daisy Ginger, she faced no obstacles when she went upstairs to look for him.
Daisy pushed the door open and saw the man lying on his side in bed, sleeping soundly.
Thinking about how he fell back asleep after answering her call, for some reason, made Daisy want to laugh.
She didn’t quite understand why she wanted to laugh, just felt that this man was quite adorable.
She tiptoed in, walked to his bedside, and studied his face, reaching out to gently touch the fine, almost transparent fuzz on his face.
Edward had actually woken up when she entered the room, but purposely kept his eyes closed, curious to see what she intended to do.
He thought Daisy might sneak a kiss, or at least give him a wake-up kiss, but didn’t expect her to just be enjoying touching his face.
Opening his eyes with a dark expression, he glanced at her with disdain—so clueless about romance!
For some reason, Daisy seemed in a great mood today. Seeing that he was awake, she greeted him with a cheerful smile, "Awake? Get up and eat. I got us the lamb ribs you like today."
The man looked at her bright and smiling face, squinting as he examined her closely, leaning back against the bed with an expression as if he’d seen right through her.
"Go on, you must’ve done something to wrong me again, right?"
"???" Daisy looked puzzled, "What?"
"Otherwise, why are you being so attentive today?" The man snorted, reaching out to pinch her face firmly.
"You’ve got a persecution complex..." Daisy couldn’t help but retort.
She rubbed her cheek, which was sore from being pinched, and gave him a reproachful look, "I brought you something tasty, and this is how you treat me!"
She seemed to be in an especially good mood today, very easygoing. Edward regarded her suspiciously, his fingers involuntarily pinching her face a few more times.
Daisy: "..."
"If you don’t remove your hand, I’ll chop it off!"
This is outrageous!
"Tch." Edward clicked his tongue dismissively at her change of expression, lazily pulling back the covers and getting out of bed, "Such a petty one."
Daisy felt speechless, unwilling to argue further with this irrational man, and urged him forward, "Go brush your teeth and wash your face! I have to work in the afternoon! Hurry up and eat!"
Edward allowed her to push him along, moving unhurriedly as he said, "Marry me, then you won’t have to work."
"...Get lost."
...
The two of them ate in the dining room.
The servant laid out the food Daisy had brought on the dining table.
Edward glanced over it, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"You remember all the things I like to eat?"
Daisy placed the lamb rib in front of him, "A reward for you today."
The man couldn’t help but laugh at her words, "What good deed did I do to earn a personal visit from you as thanks?"
Daisy took a bite of rice, then looked up at Edward, blinking.
"That night, you searched for me all night, didn’t you?"
"You’re only now thinking to thank me?" Edward chuckled lightly, "Your reaction is a bit slow, Joanne."
Daisy took a deep breath, placed a lamb rib into his bowl, and said, "Anyway, you suffered."
The man looked down at the little lamb rib in the bowl, then looked up at her, laughing softly.
Daisy has seen his sarcastic cold smile, got used to his playful teasing whenever they met. But at this moment, his smile was particularly gentle.
Sunshine brushed over his brows, every curve of his smile radiating tenderness, making him indescribably beautiful.
Daisy’s heart skipped several beats, wanting nothing more than to make him a little happier. Her mind went blank as she suddenly understood the meaning of "teasing the fire."
She quickly averted her gaze, focusing on her rice, preventing Edward from seeing her blush.
The man, however, was inconsiderate and reached out to tilt her chin up, examining her with narrowed eyes—"Daisy, you’re blushing."
Oh, this sly man.
Daisy couldn’t help but curse him in her heart.
Her cheeks pink, she maintained her composure, "You saw it wrong. It’s blush."
Edward looked at her, "Who are you trying to fool?"
He has never seen such an unromantic sly man!
Daisy’s face flushed even redder—this time out of anger!
The man, however, knew when to stop, not continuing to provoke her, but instead wearing a smug smile.
After lunch, Daisy sat on the couch with him for a while longer.
The man looked a bit tired, leaning against her shoulder, lazily flipping through TV channels.
Daisy ruffled his hair.
"Edward, I have to get back to the office now."
"Oh."
He showed no intention of getting up.
"I’ll come over after work."
Only then did he sit up.
Daisy looked at him, thinking he resembled a clingy little animal. She reached out and pinched his nose; the man watched her but didn’t move.
"Let’s go out for dinner tonight." She said with a smile, leaning in to give him a peck on the lips.
Edward’s eyes twinkled slightly.
"...Okay." His voice was slightly hoarse.
"Also," Daisy continued, "let Emma Magus off the hook."
The man’s expression turned slightly cold.
Daisy sighed, "Let it go. She’s already learned a bit of a lesson. Besides, aren’t you two friends? Don’t make things so awkward."
Edward neither agreed nor disagreed, replying only in a soft tone, "I’ll be mindful of the boundaries."
Mindful of the boundaries?
Emma Magus is almost entirely blacklisted from the entertainment industry.
"It’s unnecessary to ruin your friendship with her because of me."
Edward: "It’s necessary."
"..."
"You just wouldn’t understand how I feel when I come home and don’t see you." Just for this, Emma Magus had to pay for everything she’d done.
Daisy tried putting herself in his shoes. If that day, everyone had come back except Edward, she probably would have lost it too.
Poor thing.
She held his hand, "Aren’t I perfectly fine here?"
No wonder he jumped down that day and hugged her so tight, almost crushing her.
Daisy thought about it and realized he was indeed pitiful that day.
Sigh, let Edward vent a little.
"Will her family give you trouble for this?"
Edward snorted dismissively, "They wouldn’t dare."
That’s good.
She was still quite worried about causing him trouble.
"I’ll come find you after work." She said warmly, "What do you want to eat? I’ll bring it for you."
As soon as she asked this and met his eyes, Daisy regretted it.
Sure enough, the man looked at her mischievously and responded, "I want to eat you."
"..." Daisy kept a straight face, "Choose another."
"Hmph."
Stingy.
