Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 467: Deliver Medicine

Chapter 467: Deliver Medicine

"Oh, oh..." Elena, half-asleep, stuffed a piece of grilled rib into her mouth. The man sitting across from her propped his face on his hand, watching her with eyes full of a smiling expression; his handsome features radiating with joy.

...

"...That’s Brother Ryan’s type indeed."

Not far away, Emma Magus, eating vegetables, softly remarked to Edward Stephens.

In front of Edward was a bowl of plain porridge, which he barely touched. He only cast a faint glance in Ryan Smith’s direction after hearing her words.

"Brother Ryan likes this kind of bunny type," Emma continued, only to see Edward stand up, taken aback, "Edward, are you done eating?"

"No appetite," Edward replied lightly, putting on his mask again and getting up to leave.

"..." Watching the man’s back, she couldn’t help but press her lips together.

There was a subtle sense of discontent.

Ryan’s words from a few days ago echoed in her ears— "Do you know why Edward called you to be in this movie?"

It was only a few days before the official filming started that she signed the contract with the crew.

In recent years, her career direction had long targeted the Western market. If it weren’t for the fact that Edward was the executive producer of this film, she wouldn’t have considered returning home to shoot a movie at all...

She came back for Edward. Now that he’s single, any age-fit woman around him has a chance to become his future wife. Although she couldn’t compete with Charlotte back then, Charlotte is clearly no longer eligible now... She held onto this hope, which is why she readily agreed when Edward called to invite her to film Director Carter’s movie back home.

But now, she understood that Edward called her just to pave the way for that young actress under Daisy Ginger’s wing. He didn’t want to show his favor towards Daisy too blatantly, so he twisted the issue, intending to use her own popularity to boost Elena.

The thought of being a well-established A-list star reduced to promoting an unknown minor celebrity made her furious.

But in front of Edward, she had to pretend to be very generous.

After Edward left, she lost her appetite as well.

When Ryan finished eating, he volunteered to take Elena back.

Emma and Elena were on the same floor.

After Ryan left, the two of them entered the elevator together.

Emma turned her head, glancing at the girl’s tender, delicate face.

At twenty-nine, despite regular beauty treatments, she couldn’t compare to the fresh youth of a girl in her twenties.

She was already stifled with anger; unable to vent on Daisy, she took it out on this little bunny.

She deliberately said in the elevator, "Don’t flatter yourself, Ryan doesn’t take you seriously at all."

Elena knew she was speaking to her and turned her head to look at her.

"Don’t think just because someone’s pursuing you, you can magically transform yourself. His exes are as common as grains of sand; you’re just a way for him to kill time when he’s bored here."

Elena nodded, "Oh."

"Ding-dong——" The elevator door opened.

Elena walked out with lively steps.

Emma frowned at her back and called out, "Hey!"

Elena stopped, showing a puzzled expression on her pretty face as she looked back.

Emma said, "He’s just playing with you."

Elena, with an innocent face, replied, "I know."

"..." It was like hitting cotton with a punch, leaving the breath in her chest stuck, even more frustrated.

What’s with her? How can she react like that after I’m saying this?

"Anything else?" Elena still showed respect to this senior, maintaining her humility as a junior.

Emma asked, "Doesn’t it bother you that he’s messing with you?"

"Why should I be upset?" Elena blinked in confusion, "I don’t like him."

She didn’t like Ryan.

No matter if he’s dated a hundred or thousand girlfriends, it’s none of her business.

Even if he’s fooling with her, it doesn’t matter to her either.

She’s not losing anything.

Emma was completely choked by her words.

Her chest heaved violently, unable to come up with a rebuttal for a long while.

"Ms. Emma, I’ll head back to my room to rest,"

Elena nodded politely to Emma and then turned around to head back to her own dorm room.

Emma watched her back, opened her mouth and stomped her foot in annoyance, cursing, "Freak!"

*

When Elena returned to the dorm, she saw Daisy crouched by a suitcase, rummaging through it.

Elena curiously approached and crouched beside Daisy, watching her search through her luggage.

"Daisy, did you lose something?"

Daisy glanced at her and grabbed her hand, "Do you know where the cold medicine I didn’t finish a few days ago went?"

After moving dorms once, she had no idea where a lot of her stuff went, especially that unfinished cold medicine, which she just couldn’t find.

"Are you looking for cold medicine? That’s with me." Elena stood up, quickly ran back to her room, and fetched a neatly organized pile of prescription medicines, "I packed it up for you. After your cold got better, I forgot to return it. Do you need it now?"

Daisy opened her mouth, looking at the bag of prescription drugs. She reached out and took it, staring at it in silence, lost in thought.

After a long pause, Daisy suddenly lifted her head, solemnly handing the plastic bag to Elena, patting her on the shoulder, "Darling, I have a challenging task for you now."

"..." Elena was baffled.

"Take this pile of medicine to Mr. Stephens across the hall," Daisy lightly patted her on the shoulder, speaking warmly, "Go on."

"Oh..." Given the order, Elena promptly and obediently grabbed the plastic bag and walked out the door.

Daisy breathed a sigh of relief and sat on the sofa, listening intently for any sound from the opposite side. Soon, she heard the sound of a door opening across the hall.

She heard Ryan’s voice.

What’s that guy doing in Edward’s room?

Daisy frowned. Before she could clearly hear what Elena and Ryan said, Elena had already returned.

Still holding the bag of medicine Daisy had asked her to deliver earlier.

"Daisy," Elena felt somewhat guilty about her failed mission and approached Daisy, saying, "Ryan said Mr. Stephens doesn’t want it."

"!"

"He said if you really mean it, you should apologize to Mr. Stephens in person."

Why?

Delivering medicine should’ve already been considered considerate, and now she needs to go personally?

Daisy wasn’t having it.

She snatched the medicine back furiously, stood up with a huff, and placed it on the balcony, "Take it or leave it."

Acting all high and mighty!

Elena scratched her head, not understanding Daisy’s reaction.

*

Daisy certainly wasn’t going to personally bring Edward medicine.

It was already quite a stretch to ask Elena to deliver it; going herself would make it seem as though— she truly cared about him being sick?

He was the one who refused to go to the hospital, making his cold worse by dragging it out. His own stubbornness, she wasn’t about to clean up after him.
