Chapter 459: Daisy Ginger, what qualifications do you think you have to feel aggrieved?

Chapter 459: Daisy Ginger, what qualifications do you think you have to feel aggrieved?

"What unnecessary things have you done again?" Edward Stephens directly interrupted her.

"Brother Edward, what are you talking about?" Emma Magus pouted, aggrieved, "It was Daisy Ginger who deliberately messed with me and made me fall into the water. I can’t swim, I nearly drowned!"

Edward Stephens stood at her bedside, gazing coldly at her, silent.

Facing his cold and stern gaze, which instilled some fear, Emma Magus bit her somewhat pale lips, looking pleadingly at Ryan Smith standing not far away.

Ryan Smith innocently spread his hands, taking a step back, indicating he wouldn’t get involved.

"Brother Edward, I’m the one on your side, why are you being so harsh with me?" Emma Magus puckered her beautiful red lips, with a hint of grievance in her tone, "You can check the CCTV footage — Daisy Ginger deliberately avoided me, causing me to fall into the water. I knew she was up to no good when she said she’d be an understudy for Elena Raven."

"She’s not the type to provoke others unless provoked herself." Edward Stephens looked at her with a heavy gaze, stiff in demeanor, and appeared quite intimidating.

Under his cold gaze, Emma Magus turned away fearfully, and Edward Stephens didn’t pursue the matter any further, only saying, "Your family shields you so you can act recklessly in the circle, but be careful not to risk your life."

"..." Emma Magus lowered her head, lightly biting her lips.

Edward Stephens said nothing more, pushed the door open, and walked out.

As soon as Edward Stephens left, Emma Magus’s eyes reddened immediately, and she raised her head, crying, "Brother Ryan, isn’t Brother Edward too much? I’ve been bullied, and not only does he not help me, but he also scolds me like that?"

Ryan Smith walked over, handed her a tissue, and stood at her bedside looking at her. He said gently, "How did I advise you a few days ago? Who told you to provoke Daisy Ginger?"

"I just can’t stand it," Emma Magus gritted her teeth, resentfully saying, "Why does Brother Edward have such a miserable time, but she can have everything her way? Everyone who has manipulated the Stephens can’t escape unscathed; what’s so special about Daisy Ginger? She hasn’t known Edward longer than I have!"

Ryan Smith glanced at her, "I warn you first. If you really cause a disaster with Daisy Ginger next time, I can’t save you."

"Brother Ryan!"

"I’m not joking with you. Since you know Daisy Ginger is the only one who schemed against the Stephens and managed to get away unscathed, you should know how special she is in Edward’s heart." Ryan Smith raised his hand and tapped her on the head. "Usually, you seem quite clever; why get stupid at critical times? Edward spared her; who are you to deal with her?"

Emma Magus ground her teeth, saying angrily, "I don’t understand..."

"Who needs you to understand?" Ryan Smith shook his head, "Just remember, you can’t afford to provoke Daisy Ginger."

"..."

"Enough." Ryan Smith patted the bed, "Once you’ve rested, tell your fans you’re fine, and then go back to filming."

"Just let this thing go?"

Ryan Smith chuckled, "What do you want? Emma." He sighed lightly, "Do you know why Edward is the lead producer of this film?" He ruffled her hair, looking at Emma Magus, "Do you know why Edward asked you to come and act in this film?"

Emma Magus blinked, then shook her head.

"It’s fine if you don’t know." Ryan Smith said, "Take good care of yourself, and don’t add trouble for Edward, okay?"

"Brother Ryan, explain it to me; why speak half and leave the rest?"

Ryan Smith tucked her blanket corner, letting her lie down to rest, then calmly said, "Just know you can’t provoke Daisy Ginger."

Edward Stephens found Daisy Ginger, drunken to the hilt, at a bar.

Under bizarre lights, the woman’s face was flushed, her eyes alluringly seductive, enticing yet unaware.

He walked over indifferently, pulled Daisy Ginger out from the crowd at the bar counter.

Daisy Ginger wobbled up, resting against his chest, squinting as she studied the man’s cold demeanor before her.

She asked, "Who are you?"

Edward Stephens held her, "I’ll take you home."

Daisy Ginger swayed, fixing her gaze upon him before she suddenly chuckled, "I know who you are."

The man watched her silently.

"You’re the pervert from that day!"

After speaking, she appeared as if she’d finally caught the culprit, her smile triumphant.

"..." Edward Stephens felt a vein pop on his forehead. Her voice wasn’t loud amidst the noisy music of the bar, but he still felt numerous surprised glances directed at him.

With a stern expression, the man didn’t waste words, promptly pulled her out of the bar.

At half-past midnight in Tsing City, the temperature was a bit low. A woman in light clothing shivered in the cold wind, seeming to regain some clarity, curling up obediently beside him.

He pulled her into the passenger seat, secured her with the seatbelt.

The man got into the car, starting to fiddle with the navigation.

After a few minutes of peace, the woman began to fuss again, "I don’t want to go home."

The man turned his head, glanced at her, then returned his gaze, ignoring her.

Daisy Ginger unbuckled her seatbelt, reached out to open the car door.

Edward Stephens had already locked it, watching her struggle for a while, then coldly said, "What tantrum are you throwing?"

The woman turned, glancing at him. She was drunk, her eyes lightly red, and that glance glistened, captivating.

Edward Stephens’s breath hitched, watching her say nothing further.

Daisy Ginger slowly turned away, looking out the window, her reflection showed her slightly pursed lips.

She seemed to be unjustly wronged.

He found it amusing, let out a low, cold chuckle, secured her back in the passenger seat. With her lowered gaze full of grievance, he asked, "Daisy Ginger, what right do you have to feel aggrieved?"

She bit her lip, lowering her eyes meekly, looking pitiful.

Edward Stephens stared at her for a while, settled back into the driver’s seat, gazed ahead, then started the car.

After driving some time, he heard Daisy Ginger quietly say beside him, "I don’t want to go home."

He looked ahead, driving, "Then where do you want to go?"

"..." She pursed her lips, saying nothing more.

A drunk woman is hard to cope with; he would’ve opted to not seek her out had he known earlier.

The man clicked his tongue lightly, drove on, finally stopping at the entrance of a hotel.

He reached out, unbuckled her seatbelt, turned her head towards the window, "Make sure what this place is; don’t call me a pervert later."

"..."

"Besides, I didn’t do anything that night; don’t you remember clinging to me yourself?"

Daisy Ginger, with her dark eyes, stared blankly at him. Edward Stephens looked at her bewildered demeanor, chuckled lightly, "You’re cuter this way."

He reached out, carried her out of the car.
