Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 451: Edward Stephens, we are already divorced.

Chapter 451: Edward Stephens, we are already divorced.

This remark has crossed the boundaries of our current relationship.

Daisy Ginger doesn’t like his aggressive and condescending tone.

She frowned and warned the man about his impertinence: "Edward Stephens, we are already divorced."

My business is none of your concern.

The man’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and as his gaze dropped, his eyes grew darker. He smiled faintly, stepped back to widen the distance between them, restoring their relationship to its original state.

Without saying another word, the man opened the door and left the room.

Daisy sat on the bed, watching his departing figure, and for some reason, felt a bit of annoyance in her heart.

She hugged her head and buried her face in her knees, taking a deep breath.

*

Dizzy and lightheaded.

The fever medicine worked quickly; the most noticeable effect was not the reduction of her body’s heat, but rather a drowsiness.

She forced herself to remain rational and called James Shelton, telling him to hurry over and take Erin Ginger back. Over the phone, the idiot was still clueless and asked her, "Didn’t you already go?"

Daisy felt the urge to strangle him.

He left the child with him, and yet he allowed Erin Ginger to sneak out with a drawing board in the middle of the night. What’s the point of having you!?

Suppressing her anger, she hoarsely said, "I have a fever and don’t have the strength to drive. Come over and take me and Erin back."

"Oh, oh." James responded twice, "I’ll come over quickly."

Daisy hung up the phone. The cold wind, laden with moisture, blew in through the window, and she shivered. Hot and cold alternations made her pull the quilt around her again and burrow back into it.

Maybe because James was coming soon, she suddenly felt at ease, hugged the quilt, and dozed off again.

*

When she finally woke up, she had no idea how long she’d been asleep, drenched in sweat.

The rain outside had stopped, and sunlight was peeking out from the clouds. Daisy turned her head and saw a round head resting on the edge of the bed. To her surprise, it was James Shelton!

"You..." Daisy started to speak, only to find her throat hoarse, unable to complete a sentence. She frowned and reached out to push him.

"Daisy, you’re awake?" James woke up with a push, his face imprinted with red marks; who knows how long he’d been sleeping like that.

"When did you arrive?" Daisy lifted the quilt, frowning, "Why didn’t you wake me?"

"I did try to wake you. You were sleeping so soundly, I couldn’t wake you." James glanced at her sleepwear, paused briefly, then looked away.

Daisy said nothing, only walked out with unsteady steps.

James followed her, "Where are you going?"

"It’s time to go home. It’s not good to stay in someone else’s house for too long," Daisy looked down at her white nightgown, hesitated for a moment, then said to James, "Give me your jacket."

James took off his jacket and handed it to her. Watching her put it on deftly, he then slowly said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you, Erin is not downstairs right now."

Daisy paused as she zipped up the jacket, furrowing her brows and turning to look at James.

The man coughed lightly and cautiously explained to her, "He said he doesn’t want to go back with you, and right now, Edward Stephens took him out to play."

"....." Daisy’s face turned blue and then white, looking like a color palette.
