Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 435: Too cheap

Chapter 435: Too cheap

The man stood up from the sofa.

With long arms and legs, he took a few steps towards her and stood in front of her.

The faint scent of hormones from the man was so close that Daisy Ginger’s breath caught. She looked up at his face with a wary expression.

"Don’t understand?" He chuckled lightly, reached out, and pinched her jaw, leaning in slightly, trapping her in a position where she had nowhere to escape, enveloping her in his shadow. "Being touched by someone you don’t like is such a disgusting thing, you don’t understand?"

There was already a dangerous cold light in his eyes.

Daisy Ginger felt a slight suffocation, thinking about him and Charlotte Smith.

In essence, this matter really had nothing to do with her, but she had admitted it back then in order to divorce him, and now to deny it in front of him, he probably wouldn’t believe it.

Daisy Ginger looked away, but he clasped her chin and forced it back, making her have to meet his dark eyes.

His scent was close at hand; Daisy Ginger tried to hold her breath, preventing herself from continuing to sink into this aggressive atmosphere.

But he was too close, looked too deeply, and the hand pinching her chin slowly moved downward, with a caressing intensity, sliding across her throat.

Daisy Ginger couldn’t help but shiver, feeling Edward Stephens’s cold fingertips about to choke her throat and cut off her breath the next second.

It was truly terrifying.

Watching the changing colors of her face, Edward Stephens sneered. He said coldly, "Now do you understand?"

"Understand what?" Daisy Ginger was focused entirely on guarding against his actions, and suddenly hearing this sentence, she was a bit bewildered.

The man looked at her bewildered expression, his eyes narrowed slightly, and suddenly reached out with another hand to grab her waist and press her against the back of the sofa.

"!" Daisy Ginger’s eyes widened in shock, her whole body shivered, and she instinctively reached out to push against Edward Stephens’s chest pressing down on her!

The man didn’t move, just looked down at her coldly from above.

"Do you understand?"

He asked again.

What is there not to understand?

Daisy Ginger gritted her teeth, and for the sake of Royal Entertainment, she endured, stubbornly replying, "I don’t understand!"

Perhaps she was frightened by him; her mind was somewhat unclear, which led to her childishly arguing back with Edward Stephens.

The man’s eyes undoubtedly became even more dangerous.

He seemed to be seething with anger, eyes narrowing, scrutinizing her as if considering which part of her was easy to bite into.

He reached out his hand,

making this gesture without any expression on his face, like mocking her "lack of understanding."

Once touched by him, Daisy Ginger couldn’t help but let out an "ah," causing the man to pause slightly and glance over at her, his eyes seemingly filled with mockery.

Daisy Ginger shamefully bit her tongue and grabbed his hand through her clothing, trembling as she said, "You, you’ve done enough. I’m married now." She lowered her eyes and gently pressed her lips.

Upon hearing this, Edward Stephens’s demeanor didn’t change; he merely looked at her with eyes darkening slightly.

He had of course investigated her actions in Tsing City over these years.

Three years ago, she married a man named James Shelton in Tsing City, then worked as an agent in his entertainment company for three years.

Back then she was so relentless in wanting to divorce him, yet she easily married another man.

Edward Stephens’s eyes flickered with sarcasm, his expression cooled, and he released her, withdrawing his hand from her clothing.

"Get out."

He straightened up, no longer paying her any attention, issuing an order to leave.

In the crisp sunlight filling the room, the man’s silhouette was clear and upright, exuding a coldness that keeps people at a distance.

Daisy Ginger leaned against the back of the sofa,

her body’s natural reaction made her feel a bit ashamed, her face flushed, silent for a while.

Between her and him, it had been four years...

Daisy Ginger raised her arm to shield her face, not wanting the man to see her flushed cheeks.

This action, however, caused his gaze to become even darker; he no longer spoke, only turned and headed up the stairs.

As his presence faded, the faint scent belonging to Edward Stephens in the air also gradually dissipated.

Daisy Ginger slowly curled up her body, feeling weak, closed her eyes and let out a low breath.

Messed it up.

Facing her loss of control over Edward Stephens, it made her somewhat agitated.

Originally thinking four years would have made her completely calm, but now it seems the calm one is him.

Daisy Ginger let out another breath, turned her head, gazing complexly at the high stairs for a while, ultimately lacking the courage to go up and find him.

If Edward Stephens doesn’t agree, then let it be...

She’ll think of another way.

Daisy Ginger sighed softly, getting off the sofa, her legs weak, stumbling slightly, she steadied her mind before heading outside.

She lowered her head, sending James Shelton a WeChat message, telling him she’d return to his home tonight.

On the third floor of the villa, a slender silhouette quietly stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, its murky gaze falling on the slender back of the woman downstairs.

Only after Daisy Ginger got into the car and left did he slowly turn around and look at the file on the desk.

It was all the information concerning Daisy Ginger’s divorce over four years.

During the four years since their divorce, his heart was as calm as water, never once investigating her, nor even thinking much about her name.

Yet upon their first encounter after four years, her figure stirred a storm in his heart, irresistibly prompting him to investigate all her past experiences.

It was as if those years separated were nothing but self-deception.

Too despicable.

He sneered, pulling the curtains shut again, then tossed the file into the trash bin.

In the trash bin, documents printed with Daisy Ginger’s photos drifted to the top layer.

Daisy Ginger, married James Shelton, the third heir of Shelton Group, three years prior, and bore him a son.

...

Back then he longed so much to have a child belonging to them, yet she easily bore a child for someone else.

Edward Stephens’s gaze became icy, a sneering smile appearing at the corner of his lips.

She really knows how to torment his heart.
