Chapter 396 - 423 It Seems Like She’s Bullying Him

A soft sigh rose from the depths of Daisy Ginger’s heart.

If only...

Sadly, there is no if.

"I just went to get some medicine for you," Daisy said. "I’m not leaving, okay?"

The man leaned on the sofa, his eyes half-closed, studying her as if assessing the truth of her words.

Honestly, just half an hour away, and already drunk...

She couldn’t help but grumble inwardly, coaxing Edward Stephens to let her go, then heading out to find someone to get him some sobering medicine.

After feeding him the medicine, the man’s mind seemed to clear a bit. Holding her hand, he leaned on the sofa, the pink in his eyes faded, his lips curved slightly with a faint smile, gazing at her intently.

Daisy still needed to do her makeup; she wanted to take a nap first, but with Edward staring at her, it was unnerving—how could she sleep?

"Stop looking at me; we have one more night. You should rest a bit."

"I’m full of energy right now."

Seeing his indeed vibrant look, Daisy couldn’t help but say helplessly, "But I’m tired."

She had spent the morning in high heels, and the wedding dress was both heavy and cumbersome.

Edward wrapped his arms around her, guiding her to lie on his chest.

"You sleep on me."

Daisy couldn’t help but roll her eyes: "...Stop messing around."

She tried to sit up from his embrace, but his arm was wrapped around her waist, pressing her down, refusing to let go.

Daisy propped her hands against his chest, looking down at his eager expression, she took a deep breath: "If you keep this up, I’m going to get mad."

"I’m drunk."

"..."

"Daisy, thank you."

"Thank me for what?"

"Thank you for not refusing me."

"Not refusing this wedding?"

Edward didn’t answer; he just leaned against the sofa, holding her, smiling as he looked at her face.

Sigh.

Once again, a faint sigh surfaced in Daisy Ginger’s heart.

She didn’t want to see such an expression in his eyes—soft and vulnerable, as if she was bullying him.

Clearly, he was the one being more forceful towards her.

She lifted her head and tousled his neatly arranged hair into a messy nest, letting his bangs fall down to cover his eyes.

Edward swiftly turned over, pressing her down on the sofa, and leaned in to bite her lips.

As they were playfully tussling, the door suddenly opened.

The makeup artist appeared at the door.

"Daisy..."

Seeing the two inside, she widened her eyes, instinctively closing the door again.

"Bang!"

"..." Daisy and Edward both froze; Daisy was the first to react, hurriedly tidying her dress which had been unknowingly pushed up to her thighs, glaring fiercely at the man while doing so.

He sat on the sofa, brushing his bangs back, revealing an innocent look.

Daisy hastily tidied up and opened the door quickly; she was really worried that rumors of "being as fierce as wolves and tigers" would spread.

The makeup artist stood at the door, still waiting for her. They exchanged glances, both falling into a certain silence.

"..." Daisy took a deep breath, "Don’t misunderstand."

"It’s nothing," the makeup artist smiled. "This isn’t the first time at such an occasion, you’ll get used to it."

Daisy smiled awkwardly.

She’s different from those fierce brides and grooms, ahhhhhhhhh!

Edward lazily leaned over from behind.

He rested his chin on her shoulder, still slightly tipsy, his tone a bit languid: "Time to put on makeup now?"

"Yes," the makeup artist nodded, "There will be several outfits for the evening banquet, need to start matching the makeup now to avoid being rushed later."
