Chapter 393 - 420: Accompany You for a Lifetime
On the way back, Edward Stephens did not return home immediately but took her for a walk around the commercial area.
This was the first time she closely observed the vast empire of the Stephens.
The enormous office building, centered around the Stephens, spread out to a dense assortment of malls and shops. On the outskirts were bustling streets filled with people, and the just-off-duty workers supported this economy, fueling the region’s prosperity.
To manage such a grand company must be quite an honor. Daisy Ginger turned around to look at the high-rise, quietly standing in the shining lights. No wonder Robert Stephens carried a sense of pride and disdain toward her.
No matter how hard she tried her entire life, she couldn’t build such a business empire that provides shelter for millions.
"Want to eat something?" Chicago is a city that never sleeps. Even though it’s not early, the streets remained crowded, and Edward Stephens walked with her, surrounded by open restaurants.
"I just had a cup of milk tea, not hungry yet." She shook her head, "Aren’t you going home?"
"I want to wander with you." he said lightly, "We haven’t had a good chat like this in a long time."
Daisy Ginger raised her eyes, looking at the man’s finely sculpted profile.
Indeed, ever since their conflict tore them apart, they couldn’t face each other calmly anymore.
Arguments don’t solve problems, but they are the best way to vent emotions.
But once Edward Stephens changed his attitude towards her, she found it hard to confront him argumentatively. The little stone in her heart seemed smoothed out, rolling endlessly within her, making her emotions turbulent.
Perhaps she was tired, which made it difficult for her to be harsh on him.
Or maybe she knew that her time by his side wouldn’t last, with the parting imminent; she didn’t want pointless arguments anymore.
These are the reasons.
Nothing more.
Daisy Ginger saw an ice cream shop and let go of Edward Stephens’ hand, going to get a cone.
Edward Stephens stood behind her with one hand in his pocket, saying, "Give her a chocolate scoop too."
Seeing the dark chocolate scoop added to her strawberry cone, Daisy Ginger quickly intervened, "Hey, wait a second!" She scolded Edward Stephens, "If you want to eat, buy it yourself, why put it on mine?"
"I’m saving you money." He took the handed cone, didn’t return it to her, and took a bite of the chocolate ice cream at the top, found it too sweet, clicked his tongue lightly, and nonchalantly pushed it back into Daisy Ginger’s hand, "Let’s go."
"..." Daisy Ginger stood still, staring at the cone marked by Edward Stephens’ teeth, couldn’t help but curse inwardly — Crazy!
Act your age, if you want it just say so, why find excuses!
Immature, totally immature!

After Daisy Ginger finished the two scoops of ice cream, the man took her back to the car.
The evening breeze came and seemed to blow away all the heaviness from a person. Daisy Ginger exhaled, still tasting the sweetness in her mouth, her face relaxed.
The man started the engine, saw her refreshed look, turned to her, "Sometimes going out like this is much better than being cooped up at home, right?"
He reached out and gently brushed aside Daisy Ginger’s fine long hair, his gesture considerate and tender, "Daisy, if you’re willing, I can walk this path with you for a lifetime."
