Chapter 33 I'll Do Everything
Chapter 33 I'll Do Everything
Ares and Kianna, lacking the time to prepare dinner, decided to dine out for the evening. The restaurant they chose boasted captivating green and red neon lighting visible from the outside. Upon entering, a stylishly dressed hostess with a welcoming smile promptly led them to their reserved table. The delightful aroma of freshly prepared dishes from the kitchen immediately piqued their appetites. The restaurant buzzed with activity, evident in the servers' interactions with diners. Accommodating and satisfying everyone seemed to be quite a challenging task.
As they walked, Kianna whispered to Ares, "This restaurant seems pretty expensive!"
"Don't worry," Ares reassured her. "I just received a bonus. Let's enjoy the night without thinking about the bill."
Families shared laughter, filling the room with a warm atmosphere. Seated at their table, Kianna admired the restaurant's charming decor, featuring wooden walls, floors, and ceilings adorned with artistic wall art. The lighting created a cozy ambiance. Soon, a friendly waiter handed them menus and inquired about their comfort, taking their drink orders, which arrived promptly.
Kianna took a sip of her cold drink to refresh her palate while considering the enticing menu choices. Mouthwatering appetizers were offered as they waited for their meals. Kianna noticed the excellent service, with waitstaff serving dishes and checking in with diners to ensure their satisfaction.
Kianna innocently asked, "Ares, do you have any outstanding loans? Your expenses seem higher than mine. Miaree mentioned she saw an expensive Italian suit in a magazine."
Ares chuckled, concealing his unease. "How could that be possible? If I could afford such a suit, I'd be traveling with you! I don't usually spend extravagantly. This time, I thought you needed a break from school pressure, so I wanted to treat you to a nice meal. Don't girls like high-end restaurants?"
Kianna laughed, "As long as the food is delicious, I'm happy. Take me wherever you want; I'm not picky."
Relieved, Ares scratched his head, deflecting the question.
He no longer wore well-known luxury brands and preferred custom-made suits that few recognized. How could her friend have noticed? He resolved to ask his secretary for more ordinary suits to avoid revealing his true identity to Kianna.
"Hon... What if I told you I suddenly became very rich? Would you still like me?" Ares asked out of the blue.
Kianna widened her eyes, then burst into laughter. "You're silly! How could someone become rich overnight?" She affectionately petted his hair. "I like you, whether you're rich or not."
Ares felt like telling her everything now, revealing his true identity and the fact that he had fallen in love with her eight years ago.
"Hon, I-"
Before he could continue, a voice interrupted them from behind.
"Hey, Kianna Myst! What a surprise to see you here!"
Ares halted his confession as a woman approached wearing a sleeveless, sexy red velvet dress with a side slit.
Asteria continued, "You just had an affair with Nathan Zac Ramirez, and now you're with another man. Aren't you married? You're quite the flirt. Aren't you worried about your husband catching you? Is this how you maintain your lifestyle, sis?"
The walls seemed to close in on Ares, his inner turmoil growing with each passing moment. His anger swelled, threatening to unleash chaos if he didn't regain control quickly. Ares stood there, his fists tightly clenched by his sides, and rolled his shoulders back, fixing a piercing gaze on Asteria. "Listen up! I don't condone violence against women, but I won't tolerate you mistreating Kianna. Cease your harassment, or I'll make sure your life becomes a living nightmare!"
Asteria was left speechless, captivated by Ares' striking presence. Even in anger, he exuded an undeniable attractiveness. He looked a hundred times better than Vince, perhaps even a billion times. How could Kianna Myst be dating someone so incredibly handsome? Asteria was utterly perplexed.
"Relax, I'm just concerned about my older sister," Asteria stammered. "She used to be involved with two people, but now she's married. I worry she might face consequences for being unfaithful to her husband-"
Ares interrupted firmly, "I am Kianna's husband. Do you have any issue with us dating? And please, mind your words unless you have evidence to support your claims."
Ares' response left Asteria feeling embarrassed. She collected herself before replying, "Oh, so you're my brother-in-law. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Please, enjoy your evening. I should get going." Asteria hurriedly exited the restaurant, murmuring to herself outside. "This guy is Kianna Myst's husband? How did someone so handsome and protective fall for her? Damn, I'm jealous! She can never surpass me!"

After finishing their meal, Ares and Kianna decided it was time to head home. As they drove in silence, Kianna mustered the courage to break the ice. "I'm sorry about what happened back there. I'm not on good terms with them. It's just that you appear so gentle, but then you intimidate people. It's a bit unsettling, as if you're two different people."
Ares glanced at her with a smile. "I'm gentle with you because you're special, my dear. I can be fierce when I need to protect you. You're my wife, after all."
"That's really sweet of you, Ares. Thank you."
"Well, I have to be good to my wife."
Kianna felt relieved after expressing her concerns but still had one more worry. "You see, Asteria might tell my dad about tonight..."
"What's bothering you?" Ares asked.
"My dad texted me, saying that now that I'm married, I should bring you to meet him at our house. But my family's situation is a bit complicated. I'm afraid you might feel uncomfortable. If you don't want to go, you don't have to..."
"Sweetheart, I must meet my father-in-law. Regardless of the situation, they're your family. Don't worry. I'll be respectful, unless-"
"Don't worry, I'll also stand up for you!" Kianna couldn't hold back her emotions any longer and felt tears welling up.
