Chapter 18 Issue
A tumultuous scene happened at the University of Cavite. Students were gathering with banners bearing the phrase "Expel that woman!" They chanted derogatory remarks about Kia, expressing their disapproval.
The news quickly spread, leading the university to suspend classes due to the uncontrollable student protests. A woman dressed in professional attire arrived in a white Toyota Hiace.
"That deceitful woman! She had the audacity to deceive me and then portray herself as the victim, fabricating a story about the two of us?!"
"Calm down, Nate. Letting your anger out won't help," the woman advised.
"Miss Yun, what's happening outside?"
Miss Yun was the Ramirez family's secretary, responsible for managing their affairs. "At the moment, there is a large student protest on campus, so it's not safe for you to leave the vehicle. Additionally, there are numerous online articles about the incident, with 236 new gossip pieces circulating. Don't worry; we are taking immediate action to address it. The public relations team has already initiated damage control, and the impact is expected to decrease by tomorrow."
"What do you mean tomorrow? That's too slow! It could tarnish my reputation. I can't afford to disappoint my father. Arrange a press conference on campus this afternoon. I will handle it personally!"
"The press conference cannot be arranged unless it is approved by the board of directors. The process typically takes a day and a half. I'm afraid we still-"
"Just arrange the damn press conference! The board of directors doesn't dictate my actions!"
Well, you've just dug your own grave, girl. I look forward to our next encounter, Nate thought to himself.

Upon arriving at the school's entrance, Kia was met with a chaotic scene. Students were shouting her name and causing a commotion. The security guard noticed her and quickly approached.
"Ms. Saavedra! Come over here! The dean is looking for you. I'll help you get inside without being noticed."
Kia followed the guard, taking a discreet route to enter the school. Once inside the building, they headed straight for the dean's office, where Miaree was already waiting.
"Kianna! Thank goodness you're here safely. How did you manage to get past those girls outside?" Miaree inquired.
Kia pointed towards the security guard and replied, "Mr. Guard here helped me avoid them. But what's going on? Can you fill me in?"
"Let's wait until we're in the dean's office. The dean is expecting you."
They entered the dean's office, and a heavy silence hung in the air. Two individuals were present in the room. The dean gazed solemnly out the window, while Vera, seated nearby, was absorbed in touching up her makeup. Upon seeing Kia and Miaree enter, she immediately stood.
"She's here, Dean!"
The dean slowly turned her attention to them and spoke, "Take a seat, Ms. Saavedra." They complied and waited for her to continue.
"I'm deeply disappointed by the reports I've received, Ms. Saavedra. Conduct like this within our school's premises is unacceptable. Have you considered the damage this does to the school's reputation? Moreover, he is the son of Chairman Ramirez, and he cannot be involved in any scandal. Yet here we are. However, I am willing to hear your side of the story. Explain everything, Ms. Saavedra, or I will have no choice but to expel you."
"But, Dean, she's already violated the school rules. Can't we just expel her or impose some form of punishment?" Vera exclaimed.
"Quiet, Eunice! Why are you even here? Did you have a hand in spreading those rumors?"
"I've told you a thousand times to stop using my second name, Miaree! Are you really that dense? And yes, it was me. I witnessed them in the girls' restroom. Dean, I saw Kianna flirting with Nate-"
"Enough! I requested Ms. Saavedra's perspective, so I need both of you to please... be silent. Ms. Saavedra, you may proceed."
Kia took a deep breath before speaking. "Dean, there has been a misunderstanding. Vera was untruthful in her claims. I went to the restroom due to menstrual cramps and had an accidental fall. Mr. Ramirez kindly assisted me. Since I had no sanitary napkins and there was already a bloodstain on my skirt, he offered to help me purchase one. He also lent me his coat to conceal the stain. Vera's accusations are entirely baseless. I have no connection with Mr. Ramirez. I would never engage in such behavior. Dean, my husband and I are married, and I am a faithful wife. There is CCTV footage outside the restroom, which should clearly show Mr. Ramirez entering the women's restroom with a bag of sanitary napkins."
"Is that so? If your account is accurate, it is the university's responsibility to clear your name. We will have the security personnel review the CCTV footage. However, Ms. Ventura, if we find out that you have been dishonest, I will be obligated to inform your parents and assign you to dishwashing duty in the cafeteria as punishment for spreading false information and endangering the reputation of the university. You are dismissed."
Vera rolled her eyes and stood up to leave the room, but before she could exit...
"Ms. Ventura, I need you to stay. I have more questions for you."
Reluctantly, Vera returned to her seat. After bidding farewell to the dean, Kia and Miaree left the office. They initially planned to go to Miaree's house, but an urgent matter required Miaree's attention.
"I can give you a ride home, Kia," Miaree offered, but Kia declined. "I'll just take a taxi back," Kia replied.
Once Miaree left, Kia opted to pass through the parking lot, as it was the least conspicuous route. She was quietly making her way when someone suddenly grabbed her hand and forcibly pulled her into a car.
"Well, hello again, Kianna Myst Saavedra."
