　　Annette quickly used her phone to check the company's forum. Then, she saw the post.

　　She looked at Catherine from across the table.

　　They looked at each other, and their eyes were full of resentment.

　　Annette didn't know that Catherine was so despicable. Her affair was exposed. Was that an excuse to slander others?

　　Amanda came back from outside at this time.

　　She walked behind Annette and saw her looking at the phone.

　　Amanda patted Annette on the shoulder and said, "Annette, come with me."

　　Annette got up and followed her out.

　　They went to the corridor where no one was around. Amanda said, "You saw the post just now. I'm afraid it will have a bad influence on you."

　　Annette nodded and said, "I know."

　　"I have reported this to Mr. Norman. The post will be deleted soon. So, don't think about it anymore, OK?" Amanda said.

　　Annette took a deep breath and said, "It doesn't matter. I don't care what others say about me. Anyway, my temporary work is about to end."

　　Annette forced a smile and continued, "Amanda, let's go back. Otherwise, they will talk behind your back because of me."

　　"I don't care," Amanda said with a smile.

　　"But I don't want to affect you." Then Annette turned around and went back to the office.

　　Shortly before Annette got off work, the HR director Daniel Baucom came downstairs.

　　As soon as Daniel entered the Training Department, he asked, "Which one is Catherine?"

　　Catherine's heart tightened. She stood up and said, "I am."

　　Daniel walked forward and said, "Pack up your things and go to the Finance Department to get your salary for this month. Today is your last day working here. Your temporary contract will end today."

　　When Catherine heard this, her face turned a little pale. Her voice trembled, "Why?"

　　"We found out that you maliciously posted on the forum this afternoon to smear others. Since you are not an official employee, we can ask you to leave now. We don't owe you an explanation."

　　Unconvinced, Catherine immediately said loudly, "But I am a victim, too. I was also slandered by a post."

　　"This afternoon, we called Melvin to the Human Resources Department to verify. You are having an affair with Melvin. So you were not slandered."

　　"What about Annette? I saw her with Mr. Fisher. Why do you say that my information is not verified?" Catherine glared at Daniel.

　　"Because we checked. Miss Hall and Mr. Fisher are friends who have known each other for a long time. They are not lovers."

　　"How did you verify the news? Why is your verification effective?" Catherine thought that Daniel was protecting Annette.

　　Catherine lowered her head and sobbed sadly. "You don't know what I have done to stay in the Norman Group. Do you think I am willing to be Melvin's lover? Do you think I am willing to be a homewrecker at the best time of my life? But I have no choice. My father has cancer. I need money to save his life. I was desperate at that time. To get money and save my father, I agreed to sleep with him. I wanted to stop seeing Melvin, but he came to me again. For the money, I compromised. I know that the Norman Group pays employees a high salary. So I wanted to get a job there, so I could support my family. Do you know how much I need this job? 　　Catherine's makeup was ruined by her tears.

　　Annette took out a tissue from her bag and handed it to Catherine.

　　Annette said in a softer voice, "Since you don't believe me, there's no point explaining it to you. However, I didn't post that photo. Austin is not my lover. I had no plan to stay in this company, so why would I ruin your future? No matter what you think of me, I haven't done anything harmful to you."

　　Catherine did not take the tissue from Annette's hand. She wiped her tears and looked at Annette coldly. Then she left.

　　Annette stood there and felt a little pitiful.

　　Though she didn't do it, she somehow felt guilty.
