　　Zachary said hurriedly, "Sara, honestly, I'm not ready for another relationship. You're a great girl, but I need more time to sort things out."

　　"At first, I didn't have such thoughts, but now, I have changed my mind," Sara said calmly.

　　Zachary asked in confusion, "Is it because of what happened a few days ago?"

　　"Just now, Jennifer made a scene at the entrance of my school, holding a handwritten board and accusing me of being the home wrecker who destroyed your relationship with her. She managed to gather a big crowd and I was considered a bad influence. So, Darren, the president asked me to resign."

　　Zachary looked guilty and said, "I'm sorry, Sara. I'm so sorry."

　　Sara frowned and said, "No, it wasn't you. You weren't the one who made a scene. Jennifer is your ex-girlfriend, and she should not keep pestering you."

　　"There's no need," Sara said calmly. "Annette has helped me out and put pressure on him. Because of Connor, Darren won't fire me for the time being, but he asked me to deal with it."

　　"Then I will go talk to Jennifer."

　　"What are you going to talk to her about? Are you going to beg her to stop embarrassing me? Do you think she will restrain herself because of your compromise? If she was reasonable, she wouldn't have been pestering me like that. She wants to warn me and make me stay away from you. Although she broke up with you, she still wants to control you. 　　Zachary looked at Sara and was shocked.

　　Sara blushed and lowered her head. "I never believed in love at first sight until I met you. That day, I met you at the school gate, picking up something for Annette from you. When I saw you, I realized what it meant by love at first sight. I know that you just ended a relationship and need time to forget about it. I also heard things about your ex-girlfriend from Annette. So, I planned to wait longer before telling you about my feelings for you. However, Jennifer went too far. If I gave in this time, she would think that she did the right thing. You always choose to cool things down and no woman has ever stood up for you. Jennifer may think that everyone is afraid of her crazy act, and she'll only get crazier. So, Mr. Joseph, be my boyfriend."

　　Zachary asked in confusion, "Pretend?"

　　As Sara spoke, she pulled Zachary's wrist. "I promised Annette that I would help you get rid of Jennifer once and for all, whether you chose me or not. So, just listen to me for once."

　　They went downstairs together, and Sara hailed a taxi. Zachary only realized that he was going with Sara to the university after he got into the car.

　　When they arrived at the school gate, Jennifer was still there.

　　However, the crowd was gone.

　　Jennifer saw Zachary and Sara get out of the car together. She tossed the sign around her neck and walked toward them. She looked at Zachary with a mad face and said, "What are you doing here?"

　　Zachary said unhappily, "I should ask the same question. What do you think you are doing at this university? Don't you think you're going too far? You can't just mess around with other people's lives."

　　"I won't target her if she doesn't try to get close to you."

　　Sara walked up to Zachary and held his arm.

　　"I have to thank you, Miss Burns. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have the courage to pursue Zachary. Thanks to you, I am with Zachary now."

　　Jennifer looked coldly at Zachary.

　　"What did she say? You're with her now? You said you had nothing to do with her. Zachary, you lied to me. When did you get together?"

　　As Jennifer spoke, she stepped forward and grabbed Zachary's collar.

　　"Zachary, say something!"

　　"Jennifer, stop making a scene. Your tantrums won't change anything. We have broken up, which means from now on, you and I are strangers. So, you don't get to tell me what I can or can't do."

　　"Well, I can. I will not allow you to be with someone else. Never."

　　Jennifer yelled hysterically, and Zachary knew he had no way out.

　　If he still chose to remain silent, both he and Sara would suffer.

　　After thinking through it, he finally made up his mind.

　　Zachary wrapped his arm around Sara's shoulder. His gaze was firm as he said, "Today is the first day that Sara and I are together. No matter what you think, Sara is now my girlfriend, and you have nothing to do with me. So, I suggest you not make a scene here anymore, or else..."

　　Sara turned to look at Zachary.

　　Zachary tried to look away.

　　Sara said, "Zachary hurts you? Ms. Burns. Speaking of hurting others, he can never be compared with you. You didn't want to get married and you put him in that situation for four years, ignoring what he wanted. You hurt all the women around him. It was you who didn't cherish Zachary. Do you expect him to be controlled by you forever? We..."

　　Before Sara could finish speaking, Jennifer raised her hand and slapped Sara.

　　Zachary quickly pulled Sara back, looking worried as he said, "Sara."

　　In Jennifer's eyes, he looked concerned about Sara.

　　She approached angrily and tore Zachary's clothes.

　　Sara came back to her senses and stepped forward to block Jennifer.

　　Jennifer's hand landed on Sara, but she didn't fight back and just shouted angrily, "If you don't let go of him, I will fight with you until the end. Even if I can't be with Zachary, I won't let you ruin his life. You are not worthy of it!"

　　Jennifer's hand stopped in mid-air as she was beating Sara.

　　Zachary took the opportunity to pull Sara aside.

　　He said angrily, "Jennifer, do whatever you want. We won't waste time with you here."

　　With that, he grabbed Sara's hand to leave.

　　After they walked away, Jennifer finally reacted. She wanted to chase after them, but their figures were nowhere to be found.

　　Jennifer pulled her hair with both hands like a mad woman.

　　She looked into the sky and shouted, "You can't abandon me and pursue your happiness! No way!"
