His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 229

Chapter 229

"I won't return to the Blood Moon Pack."

"Why? Do you still want to go to the Black Thorn Pack? Don't even think about it. I won't agree this time," Connor refused without hesitation.

"I want to go back to my apartment. Roxanne is still waiting for me there."

Connor took out his phone and was about to make a call. "I'll let her go."

  Annette frowned and said, "Don't."

"I asked her to come to take care of you, but now I don't need to bother her anymore."

Annette said resignedly, "You are being so unreasonable. Why should Roxanne listen to you? Besides, I don't want to go back to the Blood Moon Pack yet. I need some time to think."

Connor said in a low voice, "Didn't you forgive me? Is there still a need to calm down?"

"When did I say I forgive you?"

"You promised me that you would tell me whatever happens in the future."

"Yeah, but does it have anything to do with forgiving you?" Annette thought Connor was being too optimistic and said, "You made me so angry that I couldn't sleep for days. Should I forgive you just because you said a few words? Anyway, I'm not going back to the Blood Moon Pack, and I will continue to live separately from you."

"Alright then. How many days do you suggest we separate? Three days or five days?"

  "It depends."

"You only have two options, three days or five days."

Annette glared at Connor and said, "You are being unreasonable once again."

Connor nodded and said, "You're right. Have I ever been reasonable? I call the shots."

Annette thought, 'Connor is an Alpha, but how can he be such a rascal?'

Connor urged, "Have you made your choice?"

"No! And I'll stay in my apartment for a week."

"Deal." Connor called Dwayne and said, "Pick me up in the hospital."

Seeing how readily Connor agreed, Annette knew she had been fooled again.

Her answer was clearly acceptable to him.

And that was why he agreed right away.

Annette glared at Connor angrily, feeling quite upset.

When they were back at the apartment, Roxanne was excited and insisted on cooking for her.

Annette stopped her hurriedly, "Roxanne, it's OK. Connor asked the chef in his house to prepare the food.'"

Connor didn't know why Annette said so, but he followed her words and sent a message to Dwayne to have someone deliver dinner there.

While Roxanne was in the bathroom, Annette said to Connor secretly, "We'd better not eat the food she cooks."

Connor asked her with his eyes.

Annette glanced toward the bathroom and said, "Otherwise, we may need to get some anti-diarrhea pills."

  Connor couldn't help but laugh.

In the evening, Dwayne brought dinner to the apartment.

During the meal, Roxanne kept exclaiming, "The food is so great. Alpha Connor, your chef is awesome."

Annette snickered and said, "Thanks, then please have more of it."

"I will. Please invite me again. In fact, please invite me more often."

"Okay, I will. I hope you can come to my house often to eat with us."

  Connor raised his eyebrows.

He didn't hear it wrongly. Annette said "My house".

Connor turned to Roxanne and said as if he had just thought of something, "Roxanne, Annette has been discharged from the hospital, and I will spare more time taking care of her. If you are busy, you can go back tomorrow. I will ask Dwayne to book a ticket for you."

Roxanne was dumbfounded and upset. She thought, 'Does Connor think I am useless and want to send me home?'

Annette was also anxious. How could Connor say so?

Roxanne came all the way here for her visit, and how could she let Roxanne go home so hurriedly?

"No. Roxanne, you have to stay a few more days to accompany me," Annette pleaded.

Connor said to Annette, "Roxanne's family is also running a company. Recently, the Norman Group signed a contract with them. Roxanne's family should be busy, and she should go back to help. You have so many people to take care of you. So, you should let her go."

Roxanne asked in surprise, "Alpha Connor, do you mean that the small company of my family is collaborating with the Norman Group? How is that possible? Did you go easy on the terms with my family?"

"Since you are Annette's best friend, let's make money together. This way, Annette will be happy, and my life will be better."

Roxanne was amazed in her heart and thought that her family would be thrilled about the cooperation.

"Alpha Connor, although our company is not qualified to cooperate with your group when it comes to your effort in pleasing your wife, I still have to praise you."

After that, Roxanne turned to Annette and said, "Ann, on behalf of my family, thank you."

Annette was a little embarrassed. After all, she hadn't done anything.

During the meal, Connor asked Roxanne, "So, when do you plan to return home?"

"Tomorrow. Anyway, I don't think I'm needed here. I don't want to be the third wheel here."

Connor looked at Dwayne and ordered, "Book a ticket for Roxanne."

After dinner, Connor asked Annette to go back to her room and rest.

Annette tugged at his arm and whispered, "What's going on? When did you cooperate with Roxanne's family's company?"

  "Today."

"I get it. You are just going to urge Roxanne to go home, right?"

"It is just one of my purposes."

  "What are the other purposes?"

Connor said, "Roxanne is the kind of person who supports me today and then helps you scold me tomorrow. I am angry and want to deal with her, but you always protect her, so I can only drive her away. Let's solve our problems by ourselves."

Annette was fed up with Connor's overbearing aura.

She pulled the blanket up over her body.

  "You can go now."

Connor said discontentedly, "You kick me out again after using me."

Annette turned her back at him.. With a slight smile at the corner of her lips, she whispered, "Remember to close the door."

After kissing her on the back of her head, Connor finally left.

Not long after he left, Roxanne finished her shower and went into the room.

She got into Annette's bed and said, "If I leave tomorrow, will you miss me?"

Annette said seriously, "Of course, I will."

"I feel a little embarrassed. I was actually paid by Alpha Connor. To be honest, I think Alpha Connor wanted me to leave," Roxanne said.

  Annette couldn't help but laugh.

"How could it be? Didn't he say that he wants to make money together?"

"It's impossible. I made Alpha Connor angry a few days ago, but it's not all my fault. He didn't do a good job himself, did he?"

Annette quickly nodded and said, "Speaking of that, I'm on your side."

"However, I think Alpha Connor's affection for you is real. There may be some things that you care a lot about, but you can't be too stubborn. If you can feel how much he cares about you, why not change your attitude and look at it from a different perspective? You can't keep holding a grudge against him just because he made a mistake with good intentions. What do you think?"

Listening to Roxanne's words, Annette nodded thoughtfully.

Roxanne said with some joy, "So, you take what I said seriously?"

"Actually, I understand everything you mentioned, and I can feel it from Connor. I even believe that he helped Alina hide her mistake from me for my own good. However, every time I think of Alina or see her, I feel upset."

"It proves that you have fallen in love with Connor." Roxanne smiled, "Only when you love someone truly will you feel jealous."

Annette said with a bitter smile, "The point is, the person who makes me jealous also lives in the Blood Moon Pack."

  Roxanne said, "That's annoying."

  Annette nodded in agreement.

Roxanne sighed, "Anyway, it's your life with Connor. As long as Connor doesn't mind, isn't that enough? I think you can give yourself some time to accept it."

  Annette responded softly.

She was willing to change for Connor.
