His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 121

Chapter 121

After Annette left, Alanna said to Melissa, "Your tone made Annette feel awkward just now."

"What's wrong with my tone? Others are talking about it. Can't I ask about anything?" Melissa raised her eyebrows and asked.

"But you sounded jealous," Alanna shrugged and said.

"Alanna, you gossiped about Annette the most before. She gave you a scarf yesterday, and you forgot everything?"

"What do you mean?" Alanna was displeased.

Melissa snorted. She stood up and walked out of the office. "You know what I meant."

She slammed the door. Alanna cursed, "Crazy woman. You're jealous, yet you still blame someone else for it."

At noon, the school announced the candidate who would take part in the shooting of the brochure.

Annette was not on the list. Instead, the campus belle was chosen.

The rumors about Annette disappeared all of a sudden.

Then, Annette received a call from Darren.

  "Hello, Mr. Crace."

"Annette, did you see today's notice?"

"Are you talking about the brochure?"

"Yes," Darren smiled, "I thought highly of you, but Alpha Connor recommended someone else to me, so I agreed."

Annette thought, 'Darren was more active in making things difficult for me. I can't be bullied for nothing.'

She sighed, "I feel sad about it. I was happy for a long time after I discussed it with Marcus yesterday. I even planned to find a photographer to take some photos for me. I didn't expect things to turn out this way."

"Annette, I have no choice. Alpha Connor invested so much money into the school. We can't offend him. I must keep him happy. Will you let it go this time?"

"I know. The school's interest is most important. Don't worry. I am not a stingy person. I won't fight with the students for an opportunity."

"Great. By the way, have you heard Marcus mention that Alpha Connor has anything to do with our campus belle?"

Annette was speechless for a moment. She said, "No."

"That's strange. Why would Alpha Connor recommend her?"

"Mr. Crace," Annette warned, "Alpha Connor is an upright person. You'd better not talk nonsense. I'm in the middle of something. Bye."

No wonder Connor said that Darren was sophisticated and good at flattering people.

However, the relationship between Connor and other women had nothing to do with him.

Darren was unhappy. How dare a student instructor hang up on him! If not for Marcus, he wouldn't forgive Annette.

At noon, Annette went to the cafeteria with Sara and Alanna.

Alanna said mysteriously, "Let me tell you a piece of big news."

Sara smiled, "You always know the big news."

"Sara, don't laugh at me. This time, it is super big. Alpha Connor of the Blood Moon Pack is coming to our school to be a lecturer. Do you know how many students signed up for his class?"

Annette smiled faintly. She could imagine that there must be quite a lot.

Sara asked in surprise, "Is it true?"

  "Of course."

Sara looked at Annette. "Annette, will you attend Alpha Connor's class?"

Annette did not want to be a lofty person in others' eyes. She said, "Of course. But I'm afraid that there will be a lot of students in the classroom. Even Alanna was surprised by the number of applicants."

Alanna nodded. "There is indeed a lot."

Sara sighed, "It seems that we don't have any chances. We can't stop the students from studying hard for private purposes."

Alanna shook her head and said, "No, I want to go. And that day, I will dress up beautifully."

Sara smiled, "There will be a lot of people. Unless you dressed up as the Moon Goddess, Alpha Connor wouldn't notice you."

  Alanna sighed.

"Just stop daydreaming for now. What happened between you and Melissa? Did you get into an argument?"

Alanna pursed her lips. "Yes. I am a little pissed off. It is not the first time we quarrelled. It will be fine in a few days."

Annette's phone rang. She took out her phone and found that it was a call from Zachary. She stood up with a smile and said, "I'm done. I'll go and answer a call. Enjoy your meal."

She jogged out of the cafeteria with her bag. Alanna looked at Annette's back and asked, "What's going on? Annette has a boyfriend?"

Sara thought of the hickeys on Annette's neck that morning. She shrugged. "I'm not sure. I haven't heard of it."

Annette went to the entrance of the cafeteria and picked up the phone. "Hellos, Zachary."

  "Are you busy?"

"No. I was having lunch. What about you? Are you busy?"

"I'm not busy either. I just finished lunch. I told my parents that I ran into you. They asked me to invite you over for dinner. Are you free tonight?"

"Yes. But, will that be too much trouble for them?"

Zachary smiled, "No. They are curious about what you look like now. After all, they haven't seen you for so many years."

Annette smiled faintly. "OK. See you later."

When it was about time to get off work in the afternoon, Annette texted Leonard, telling him not to pick her up.

  After that, she called Connor.

As Connor picked up the phone, Annette said, "Connor, I won't go back for dinner tonight. I'll go to Joseph's house. Zachary's parents invited me over for dinner."

"How long will you stay there?" Connor was unhappy. It was Zachary again.

  "I'll be back after dinner."

Connor didn't say anything. Annette said, "I've got to go now."

  "Wait a minute."

Annette stopped. "Is there anything else?"

"Ask Leonard to drive you there."
