His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 110

Chapter 110

"I heard from Leonard that you just went to the hospital. Are you feeling unwell?" Connor asked.

Annette shook her head and said, "No, I went to visit a friend."

  "Your colleagues?"

Annette did not want to lie. She said, "It was Kyle."

  "Is he in the hospital?"

  "Yes."

  "Is he sick?"

Annette shook her head. "A car accident."

"Judging from your expression, he seems to be seriously injured."

"I don't know. I didn't go in to see him. Roxanne told me that Kyle was in a car accident and that he might be crippled. That's why I went there."

"Why didn't you go in and ask about his condition?"

Tears welled up in Annette's eyes.

  Connor was a little displeased.

  "What are you thinking about?"

He thought that he could see through people's minds, but Annette was an exception.

Annette looked at him. She didn't know who else could ease her worries.

Now that Connor was in front of her, she thought that she should grasp the chance.

She reached out and grabbed Connor's sleeve. "It was my fault."

Her voice trembled a little. "It was because of me. That day, he came to me and asked why I did not tell him that I was the illegitimate daughter of the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack. I was angry because he investigated me secretly. I said a lot of harsh words. He had a car accident after that. Kyle had always been a sensitive person. If I had not said so much that day, he might not have had an accident. It was all my fault. Leslie is right. I am a jinx. Whoever gets involved with me will end up hurt."

Annette tried to control herself and suppress her sorrow.

Connor frowned. What a vicious woman Leslie was! She spoke ill and hurt Annette deeply.

His eyes were filled with anger. He pulled Annette into his arms.

"Kyle's accident had nothing to do with you. You also said harsh words to me. But I'm fine, right? Put away your sadness and don't take all the blame on yourself. Kyle has crossed the line, and it's normal for you to say a few harsh words. Otherwise, should you smile at him? That won't make sense," Connor said.

  Annette still couldn't calm down.

Connor let go of her and held her face. "Don't convict yourself just because of others' words. Their words are not important. Tell me, do you want him to end up like this?"

  Annette shook her head firmly.

  Connor nodded. "That's enough."

Annette was grateful that he was standing behind her and comforting her.

The next morning, while Annette was busy at work, someone knocked on the door.

Sara was about to go out and opened the door. She said in surprise, "Fiona."

It had only been a few days, but Fiona looked haggard.

She looked at Annette and said, "Annette, are you free? I'd like to talk."

Annette stood up and walked to the door. "Let's go downstairs."

They went downstairs and walked to the pavilion in front of the office building.

Fiona sat down and sighed, "Annette, I thought that you were a kind-hearted girl."

"Fiona, don't beat around the bush. Just tell me why you are here."

"I heard Kyle say that you are a member of the Black Thorn Pack."

Annette frowned. Before she could say anything, Fiona continued, "I'm sorry for insulting you as an orphan in the past."

"No need. I don't think we will have anything to do with each other in the future. You don't have to apologize to me," Annette said coldly.

"Annette, I know that I have gone a little too far before. But I hope that you'll pay a visit to Kyle at the hospital. After the car accident, he is self-abandoned now. Maybe you can cheer him up."

Fiona's face had aged. She looked more like a heartbroken mother.

After a moment of silence, Annette said, "I will go. But, just don't come to me again."

She stood up and was about to leave the pavilion.

Fiona sighed, "If you had told me earlier that you were a member of the Black Thorn Pack, I wouldn't have made things difficult for you."

"Whatever. I don't like the way you guys handle things, the Crystal Pack." Annette left after saying that.

Fiona frowned. Even now, she still doesn't like Annette. She was so proud, probably because she never received any affection from others.

Lena was still there when Annette arrived at the hospital.

However, Lena was not in the ward and was just standing at the door.

When she saw Annette, Lena was on guard. Her voice was cold as she stepped forward to block Annette. "Annette, you have no right to visit Kyle. You make him like that. Get out of here."

Annette said coldly, "Kyle's mother asked me to come. If you are dissatisfied, go and argue with her. Don't shout at me. I don't want to say a single word to you."

When Annette walked past Lena and was about to push the door open, Lena said through gritted teeth, "He is crippled. Do you still want to rob me of the identity of Luna of the Crystal Pack?"

Annette frowned and turned to look at Lena. "You came to him for the identity of Luna of the Crystal Pack?"

"Otherwise, I would not try to please a cripple who doesn't like me. I am not crazy!" Lena said coldly, "Annette, you don't have to pretend to be lofty. You were with Kyle at that time. Do you dare to say that you didn't do it for status and money?"

Annette glanced at her coldly. "I'm not."

  Of course, she was not.

She ignored Lena and walked into the ward.

As soon as Annette closed the door, she heard Kyle's violent roar. "Get out! All of you..."

Kyle's voice stopped abruptly when he saw Annette.

Annette stood by the door for a moment. Then, she walked to the bed.

Kyle said coldly, "Why are you here? Are you here to mock me? I betrayed you, and the Moon Goddess helped you take revenge on me. I am now a cripple. Are you satisfied?"
