Chapter 925 - 874: Skeleton Mask

Chapter 925 - 874: Skeleton Mask

Dao Feng also nodded. "Indeed, Sharp Sword is an unfathomable character. I’ve fought him before, though it was merely a probing exchange. Even his normal attacks are completely different from ours. Fighting him feels like a nightmare."

"This is good news! Now that Sharp Sword has joined our legion, the stronger he is, the greater the help we’ll receive!" Xiao Chunzi clapped her little hands and spoke with childlike simplicity.

"Indeed, this is good news. Now we’ll see if he can intimidate those super first-class experts in the sky. There are only 14 hours left until tomorrow. If Sharp Sword can keep them subdued for 14 hours, that will be enough." Huang Yi said as he looked upwards at the group of Heavenly Domain top-notch experts among the enemy forces, silently counting down the time in his heart.

In fact, everything they’ve done so far was merely a tactic to delay. Whether it was Dragon Spike initiating the formation earlier, or Sharp Sword now attacking the enemy’s super first-class guilds—it was all to stall this battle until tomorrow.

Outside the Heavenly Curtain Barrier, aside from Fuchan Fenrao still relentlessly attacking the barrier, the enemy’s Heavenly Domain top-notch experts seemed to have been intimidated by Sharp Sword and were now discussing amongst themselves.

"Sharp Sword has reached the vicinity of our guild’s main battle flag! He has the ability to teleport across continents, and with God of Slaughter having forces on every single continent, their collaboration is simply terrifying! Next, none of your guilds will be spared! Hurry, make your decision!" Dante urged nervously, as if already envisioning his guild being trampled effortlessly by Sharp Sword—the painstakingly built guild on the verge of ruin.

The crowd hesitated in the tense atmosphere. If breaking the Heavenly Curtain Barrier led to the destruction of their guilds, then such a victory would be utterly meaningless.

"Let’s stop!" Finally, Heavenly Dao took the lead, made a painful decision, and sheathed his Eastern Sword, being the first to cease aggression.

"We should halt and observe for now," Ganges echoed, agreeing to stop as well.

"Such a pity! If it weren’t for Sharp Sword, why would we care about all this!" Pope Eiffel reluctantly withdrew his Magic Wand.

Soon, with the sole exception of Fuchan Fenrao, the other seven Heavenly Domain top-notch experts all stopped attacking.

"God of Slaughter, we’ve already ceased our efforts. Shouldn’t you fulfill your earlier promise and have Sharp Sword stop as well?" Dante loudly shouted down towards Huang Yi, fearing he would go back on his word.

"Don’t worry! He’ll stop soon. I have someone sending him the message." Huang Yi nodded, letting out a slight sigh of relief inside.

Sharp Sword’s appearance indeed played a deterrent role, but how long this intimidation could last remained uncertain. The enemy army had mobilized aggressively, and it was impossible they’d abandon their full-scale attack just because of Sharp Sword. But for now, every minute of delay was worth it; every little effort would contribute to surviving the next 14 hours.

Reporters on the scene quickly received the latest updates and relayed them to global audiences: "Dear viewers, after the invading army’s top-notch experts announced their pause, we’ve received the latest information—Sharp Sword has indeed ceased his attack on Dante’s Divine Tune Guild, but he hasn’t left the area and continues to exert a deterrent force. Additionally, God of Slaughter’s widespread global influence has created shocking pressure on the enemy. Before this full-scale assault began, no one anticipated that so many nations’ renowned guilds, numerous masters scattered across the world, and even national leaders would turn out to be under the command of God of Slaughter. It’s simply incredible. If the invading army fails to find a way to protect their own guilds, this entire assault may well become a laughingstock..."

At this moment, an eerie scene unfolded on the battlefield. Only the regular armies continued fighting, with cannon fire booming in the distance, one warship after another struck, billowing with heavy smoke, and inevitably sinking. Countless players engaged in fierce combat; some fell on the battlefield, while others earned significant merits and experience, steadily advancing in rank. Occasionally, players triggered Heavenly Realm phenomena.

However, the super first-class experts had stopped fighting, leaving only Fuchan Fenrao tirelessly attacking the barrier. Yet her solitary efforts were insufficient to damage the Heavenly Curtain Barrier powered by the Holy Crystal Stones.

Fuchan Fenrao continued attacking the Heavenly Curtain Barrier with all her might, angrily chastising the other super first-class experts: "You cowards, intimidated by Sharp Sword! Are you even real elites? You’re nothing but a disgrace!"

The Pope gestured calmly and reassured, "Don’t be angry. We didn’t say we’re giving up on the attack. We’re just pausing to observe for now. There are six days left until God of Slaughter’s Reincarnation ends. We have plenty of time, no need to rush."

After speaking, the Pope discreetly sent a message to T.N.T, saying, "Right now, there’s only one way to protect our guilds, and that’s to let the Demon Clan’s masters emerge. The Demon Clan has portals on every continent, enabling them to travel to any location at any time. If they’re willing to protect our guilds, we won’t have to fear Sharp Sword. Do whatever it takes to get the Demon Clan’s masters involved!"

T.N.T glanced at the Pope and immediately replied, "I’ve arranged for a Soldier of Annihilation to step in, but he’s currently assigned to another mission and will need some time to free himself."

Seeing the mention of "Soldier of Annihilation," the Pope visibly relaxed, as if he now had sufficient confidence.

...

The space where the Seven Archdemons resided was exceptionally unique, intricately linked to The Second World. They had built at least one Demon King’s Gate on every continent, with hundreds of gates scattered across The Second World’s numerous lands.

These Demon King’s Gates were concealed in incredibly remote or hazardous areas on each continent—places difficult for ordinary people to find, let alone destroy.

In the northern region of the American Continent lay a vast Primeval Forest stretching thousands of miles. It was a desolate place filled with danger, with fierce beasts lurking everywhere. Travelling through it for weeks yielded not a single trace of human presence.

Amidst this sprawling forest was a seemingly ordinary lake. On the surface, the lake appeared crystal clear and serene, a picturesque scene. Yet its surroundings were dead silent; not a single living creature dared to venture near. The reason for this was that the lake housed a powerful group of Thunderfish, all Advanced Holy Domain rank. Even a Top-level Holy Domain slayer entering this lake would be swarmed by these Thunderfish and devoured completely.

At this moment, the tranquil lake suddenly began to boil violently, as if something beneath was stirring.

Gradually, the lake water turned pitch black, as though someone had poured in a large amount of ink. What was once clear and pristine now became turbid and impenetrable.

Soon after, a mass of dead fish floated to the surface—all of them Advanced Holy Domain Thunderfish. Though they were the most dominant creatures here, their lifeless bodies now floated belly-up on the blackened water like ordinary fish.

"Splash!" Suddenly, a shadow burst out of the lakebed, soaring skyward, scattering water in all directions.

The figure was clad in black, his face obscured by a sinister black skeleton mask, exposing only his piercing eyes.

Those eyes held a slight sluggishness, resembling those of a zombie, devoid of human emotion. His movements were somewhat stiff, betraying a lack of agility.

Despite this, the masked man radiated an overwhelmingly terrifying aura, his tangible pressure bending the nearby trees slightly. The swath of Thunderfish had perished instantly upon his arrival.

The figure glanced around briefly, identifying his direction, before transforming into a streak of light, speeding southward. In moments, he vanished into the horizon.

Traveling at an astounding pace, the figure crossed an immeasurable distance and arrived at a bustling city.

The city was embroiled in a fierce war, chaos everywhere. Magic Cannons roared, players clashed violently. The Heavenly Curtain Barrier had been shattered, and battles erupted in the streets and alleys, deadlocking both sides.

Observing the scene, a hint of light flickered in the masked man’s otherwise dull eyes. Without delay, he plunged toward the city’s central region.

Numerous players fought in mid-air, blocking the path ahead.

Yet the masked man pushed forward unflinchingly, crashing directly into them. Each player struck by him exploded into clouds of blood mist!

The sky was marked with a distinct crimson streak tracing the masked man’s descent, leading all the way to the ground.

"Boom!" The masked man landed on a major street, creating a massive crater. A powerful shockwave expanded outward, dispersing dust in all directions. The battling players nearby were sent flying in disarray.

Many halted their combat, turning to stare at the figure who had descended from the heavens, unsure whether he was foe or ally.

The masked man surveyed his surroundings and uttered in a hoarse voice, "Sharp Sword, get out here and face your death. Don’t waste my time."

The commanding, gravelly tone echoed through the streets, bouncing back and forth, ringing across the entire city multiple times.
