Chapter 904 - 854: Eye of the Underworld

Chapter 904 - 854: Eye of the Underworld

But the way this potion was spawned was far too bizarre; an eye suddenly appeared out of nowhere and shed a tear right in front of Huang Yi.

Just the appearance of this potion alone already surpassed all the other potions Huang Yi had previously encountered in this medicine bottle.

Huang Yi stared carefully at this tear. It was a faint blue, crystal clear, rolling at the bottom of the bottle, exuding a sense of purity without the slightest impurity.

With anticipation in his heart, he checked the attributes of this potion—

[Tear of the Underworld King] (S-class, Magical Item - Potion)

Drip the Tear of the Underworld King into an eye, and it will transform into the Eye of the Underworld. The Eye of the Underworld can only be possessed by the original body; incarnations, clones, replicas, illusions, and other forms cannot inherit the abilities of the Eye of the Underworld.

Tear of the Underworld King! Underworld!

Seeing the introduction of this potion, Huang Yi was instantly stunned.

The Underworld is one of the most mysterious places ever known. For centuries, countless people have wanted to find out where the Underworld actually is, but no one has ever succeeded; no portals or teleportation circles leading there have ever been found.

However, the function of the Underworld is widely recognized—it collects souls of the dead.

For any creature, after dying for a period of time, if its soul is not absorbed or taken away, it will automatically go to the Underworld and become one of its Heroic Spirits.

Previously, outside the Dragon Tomb in the Demonic Beast Mountain Range, Huang Yi had personally witnessed the mother of the Little Dragon’s soul being pulled into the Underworld.

Some individuals with special means are able to procure powerful Heroic Spirits from the Underworld; Huang Yi knows of several people with such abilities.

For instance, Ni Dongde, whose name in The Second World is "You Know It." Huang Yi first saw him on the day the Heroism Religion was established. In a narrow alley in Dragon City, he saw Ni Dongde, wearing a bamboo hat and a straw coat, fishing for Heroic Spirits from the Underworld using a fishing rod.

Then there’s the famous super-first-class expert, Indonesian player-leader, and third annual gala’s Best Charisma Award winner—Fuchan Fenrao—who has certain ties to the Underworld. Her mount is a War Beast from the Underworld, equipped with various unique capabilities that enhance her strength considerably.

On the NPC side, the illustrious King of Hell, Yanmo, also has deep connections to the Underworld. The overwhelming strength it possesses is partly due to absorbing the Heroic Spirits of various Dragon Clan members from the Underworld.

As for the dead heroes in Huang Yi’s Heroes’ Prison, only their corpses remain. Their souls have also journeyed to the Underworld and become Heroic Spirits there.

One can truly say, the Underworld is the most enigmatic place in The Second World.

Now, Huang Yi has come across a tear tied to the Underworld—a single drop that can grant him the Eye of the Underworld!

This tear’s value surpasses that of any S-class potion; perhaps only the legendary SS-class items could exceed its worth.

Huang Yi immediately tilted his head back, opened the bottle’s cap, and let the Tear of the Underworld King fall into his left eye.

In the next instant, a sensation of coolness enveloped his left eye, like a drop of icy water, incredibly refreshing, completely relaxing his whole left eye.

"[System Prompt]: Your left eye has absorbed the [Tear of the Underworld King], granting it the [Eye of the Underworld] ability, which provides various powerful visual capabilities within the Underworld. The Eye of the Underworld can only be possessed by the original body; incarnations, clones, replicas, illusions, and other forms cannot inherit the abilities of the Eye of the Underworld. Using [Eye of the Underworld] will consume energy, with the consumption amount varying depending on specific circumstances."

Upon receiving this message, Huang Yi immediately activated his Eye of the Underworld ability to test out the power it possessed.

But he quickly received a failure notice—

"[System Prompt]: You are not currently in the Underworld, so the Eye of the Underworld cannot be used."

The Eye of the Underworld can only be used within the Underworld! That means this ability is essentially useless for now and cannot provide any immediate assistance, making it far less practical than his Eye of Time.

Huang Yi temporarily set aside his curiosity about the Eye of the Underworld. Since the Underworld exists, it is bound to be discovered one day.

Nonetheless, with the addition of the Eye of the Underworld, Huang Yi’s visual abilities have become even more versatile.

Previously, his race and profession bonuses had already given him superior vision, enabling him to see easily in total darkness.

Later, after consuming the eighteen eyeballs of Hydra Death Scale, he gained the ability of the Eye of Time, allowing him to peer into the past and the future.

Then, upon evolving into the Eyeless Demon, he obtained Heart Eye capabilities—using his heart to observe surroundings, disregarding fog and dust obstructions, as well as immunity to blinding effects and other negative states.

His incarnation also possessed the Third Eye, which granted him clairvoyance, enabling him to see through objects to what lies behind.

Now, he has gained yet another ability, Eye of the Underworld, capable of tremendous potential within the Underworld.

Due to all these abilities, his eyes have now become even more enigmatic and mesmerizing, especially his left eye that absorbed the Tear of the Underworld King. If anyone were to focus deeply on his left eye, they’d notice that it seemed to contain a vast universe—a boundless space that could even draw in one’s soul.

Afterward, Huang Yi stowed away the medicine bottle. He turned and looked at Gibit, who was still asleep on the soft couch, with no indication of when they might awaken.

Huang Yi left the house and ventured into the nearby forest. Summoning Little Dragon, he mounted it and soared into the sky, circumnavigating the area in search of any unexpected encounters.

Little Dragon carried Huang Yi across the immense mountain and canyon landscape, the towering trees below them racing away at blinding speeds. The mountains were adorned with cascading waterfalls and rushing streams, which made for a picturesque scene. The air was fresh, but the area lacked vitality—void of wild animal cries. The Holy Giant Dragon, Georgia, was the sole proprietor of this domain.

In the vast canyon below the mountain, the enormous red pillar of light continued to bridge the heavens and the earth, endlessly channeling red starlight downward. The artifact’s Cui Guang process evidently wasn’t finished yet, and the timing of its completion remained unknown.

As they flew onward, Huang Yi suddenly spotted a simple straw hut perched on a cliff in the distance, shrouded in a faint red mist. Amid the secluded dusk of the valley, it radiated an air of sheer eeriness.

Huang Yi urged Little Dragon to descend, landing in front of the straw hut.

The hut’s door wasn’t closed, allowing Huang Yi a glimpse of its interior with ease.

Similar to the straw hut Huang Yi shared with Gibit, this one was desolate and simplistic. Inside, a woman sat cross-legged on a soft couch, surrounded by rushing streams of faint red energy that poured wildly into her body.

This woman was the Holy Giant Dragon, Georgia. It appeared she was absorbing the World Force to convert it into Divine Power, restoring her strength.

Huang Yi had previously seen the Demigod of Oskan Royal Academy—Divine Marksman Ica—absorbing World Force, but at the time, Ica’s surroundings were barren with no visible red ambiance. In contrast, the process Georgia was now undergoing was far more spectacular; even to the naked eye, the red mist highlighted the grandeur of World Force during the Eternal Ancient Era.

"You’ve arrived," Georgia suddenly noticed Huang Yi’s presence and immediately ceased absorbing World Force, opening her eyes.

A focal glint flashed across her eyes. Slowly rising to her feet, she gracefully exited the straw hut, stepping through the void to reach Huang Yi’s side.

She seemed to be especially interested in the Little Dragon beneath Huang Yi, extending her pristine hand to stroke its golden feathers.

Little Dragon stared at her docilely, appearing to find her aura exceptionally familiar and comforting. It didn’t shy away; instead, it squinted contentedly, letting out a "Woof Woof!"

"Has your Golden Holy Dragon undergone mutation?" Georgia asked when she heard Little Dragon’s barking.

Huang Yi patted Little Dragon, signaling it to stop making noise. He then replied, "Yes! It absorbed the Essence of Life from one of the King of Curses’ avatars, ultimately growing Phoenix feathers."

Georgia pondered for a moment before saying, "It absorbed the avatar’s essence without undergoing demonization. That indicates it can absorb Dragon Emperor Stones. You might want to seek out one for it—it will greatly strengthen Little Dragon. The Hell King’s avatar essence far surpasses that of the King of Curses’ avatar essence."

"Hell King," Huang Yi murmured upon hearing the name, his thoughts racing. He asked, "Do you think the Hell King might know the location of the Underworld?"

Georgia nodded, "It’s possible. The Hell King is currently the most closely connected to the Underworld among known individuals. If you’re seeking answers about the Underworld, the Hell King is the most practical breakthrough point."

"Discussing this King behind his back—well, that’s not exactly a good habit!" In that exact instant, a majestic and eternal voice boomed across the heavens and resonated throughout the canyon, reverberating in waves!

The voice was infused with an unmistakable strength, akin to divine decree; its words carried absolute power that no one could defy!

The voice’s origin was untraceable, as though it heralded from an incredibly distant realm, piercing infinite space, leaving the speaker’s location indeterminable.

Upon hearing this voice, Georgia’s expression shifted drastically. She clenched her fists tightly and spat out a name through gritted teeth: "Hell King, Yanmo!"

"Indeed, it’s me!" That imposing voice openly acknowledged its identity and said leisurely, "Georgia, it’s been a long time! The last time this King clashed with the Barbaric God, Split Sky, you were merely at Holy Domain Rank. But now, you’re close to Divine Enthronement and have forged such an artifact. This growth rate—I haven’t encountered much like it, not even in this King’s many years. I cannot allow you to continue progressing any further." (To be continued.
