Chapter 890 - 842 Skill Dispel

Chapter 890 - 842 Skill Dispel

The Fallen Envoy’s appearance was akin to that of a primitive man, stark naked, with sinewy muscles exuding a visceral sense of power. Only his private parts were shrouded in a mass of black mist, bereft of any semblance of civility or refinement.

However, his aura was vast and majestic, pressing down so heavily that the tree branches below bent under the weight, leaves trembling and falling to the ground.

The heavens grew heavy with dark clouds, casting the entire East Mountain Forest into a sinister chill. Even the temperature seemed to drop by several degrees.

"You dare to kill two of my most important subordinates! It seems you are oblivious to the terror of the Fallen Envoy. Today shall mark the start of your eternal nightmare!" The Fallen Envoy suppressed his surging rage and spoke coldly to the people below. His imposing voice reverberated throughout the East Mountain Forest, carrying visible white soundwaves. Some fragile birds were directly killed by the sheer force of it!

The crowd under the Net of Peace instantly looked up, gazing at the black figure in the sky above.

"The Fallen Envoy!" Huang Yi’s face immediately turned grave upon seeing that figure!

He was all too familiar with the Fallen Envoy.

Back then, in order to confront the Heavenly Domain expert Man Tian of the Half-Beast Holy Land, he had lured the latter into the Abyss and relied on the Fallen Envoy to repel him. Later, the Fallen Envoy had invited him to join the Demon Clan, but he had refused.

Afterward, when a Giant General from the Demon Clan sought to wreak havoc on the Hero’s Continent, it was Huang Yi and the Sea Dragon Emperor who stopped him in the Dragon Sea. At a critical moment, the Fallen Envoy arrived, and it took the Sea Dragon Emperor exhausting his full power to fend him off.

Later still, the Fallen Envoy led the Demon Clan in a second invasion of the Hero’s Continent via the Dragon Sea. Huang Yi had to summon the Ancient Giants to block them, but to divert the Fallen Envoy—this overwhelming threat—he had no choice but to abandon the Ancient Giants, letting them lure the Fallen Envoy and other Demon Clan experts toward the Central Continent instead.

Having witnessed the Fallen Envoy in action many times, Huang Yi understood deeply just how terrifying his strength was.

The Fallen Envoy was at the Intermediate Heavenly Domain level, and as a member of the Demon Clan, his power far exceeded that of an ordinary Intermediate Heavenly Domain expert.

Although Huang Yi had brought along four Heavenly Domain players, he was certain that, even combined, they were no match for the Fallen Envoy.

He turned his gaze toward T.N.T. and Miyamoto Musashi, not far off, almost immediately associating the arrival of the Fallen Envoy with the two of them.

"This man’s aura is so overwhelming! At the very least, he’s at the Intermediate Heavenly Domain level!"

"He seems like an expert of the Demon Clan—his appearance is identical to theirs!"

Both allies and enemies were murmuring about the Fallen Envoy, each filled with a sinking dread that today might mark their demise.

"Even such a powerful expert of the Demon Clan has shown up," Ronald muttered, looking up solemnly. He had no idea it was T.N.T. who had summoned this Demon Clan expert, thinking instead that it was a mutual adversary.

"This kind of powerhouse is beyond what we can handle with sheer numbers. Stop our reinforcements immediately; we must figure out our own escape!" The Pope added with feigned resolve. "Blending into the Hero Legion offers our best hope for survival—they are numerous and conspicuous."

At this moment, Yi Tian, ranked as the top expert among the invading forces, waved his hand dismissively, then turned to his seven other super-first masters with confidence. "Everyone, don’t worry. If the Fallen Envoy comes after us, I can hold him off for a while. Though I am one status level beneath him, I can still manage to delay him for a time. However, I’ll need some preparation; the longer I prepare, the surer my success."

The others, hearing Yi Tian’s words, felt significantly relieved. As the world’s only top-notch Heavenly Domain expert, Yi Tian’s strength was something they could trust.

"Very well, then let’s give the Hero Legion a parting gift!" Miyamoto Musashi sneered cruelly, a flash in his hand producing a scroll, which he immediately unfurled.

In the next instant, a deep blue glow suddenly spread outward in all directions, expanding to the horizon and enveloping the entire area covered by the Net of Peace!

The entire visible range was soon blanketed in a sea of sparkling blue light, drowning everyone in its midst.

Witnessing the scene, everyone found it eerily familiar. Not long ago, during the Night Rain Eastward Guild’s battlefield, the Hero Legion had used this very scroll to prevent the invading forces from teleporting away.

This was an Anti-Teleportation Scroll. Miyamoto Musashi’s intent in using it now was crystal clear: he meant to trap Huang Yi and the top-tier elites of the Hero Legion here to bear the brunt of the Fallen Envoy’s wrath.

Miyamoto Musashi clapped his hands, turning to Huang Yi with a malicious grin. "God of Slaughter, don’t you always find a way to turn the tables? What will you do this time? How will you protect so many of the Hero Legion’s elites?"

His taunting remarks caused all the Hero Legion members to instinctively look toward Huang Yi.

"God of Slaughter, do you have a way to protect the Hero Legion?" Dao Feng asked Huang Yi. He used team chat mode so that those outside the Hero Legion couldn’t hear him.

Dragon Spike, standing nearby, also turned to Huang Yi upon hearing Dao Feng’s question.

They were all super-first-class experts, capable of extraordinary feats, and could theoretically escape from the Fallen Envoy’s clutches. This included the four Heavenly Domain experts—Yang Yuheng, Quick Spike, and the others—who were equally capable of fleeing. However, such escapes would merely save their own skins. The larger issue was the multitude of Hero Legion elites on the field who had no chance of survival without protection. Leaving them behind would deal an immense blow to the Hero Legion.

"Big Brother God of Slaughter, how about I risk my life holding off the Fallen Envoy while you all flee? After all, I’m of an Advanced Class and can level up quickly. Losing one level won’t impact me too much," offered Quick Spike heroically.

The rest of the Hero Legion, moved by his words, cast him looks of admiration.

Huang Yi shook his head, patting Quick Spike on the shoulder. "You’re an important figure; don’t sacrifice yourself. The Fallen Envoy is too powerful to be easily delayed. Your plan carries too much risk."

"Then, Big Brother God of Slaughter, could you use Judgment to drag the Fallen Envoy into the Void Battlefield? That way, we can retreat safely," suggested one Hero Legion player.

"I’m afraid not," Quick Spike responded immediately, shaking his head. "Heavenly Domain experts possess a class ability called Skill Dispel, which allows them to negate any non-absolute skill. Big Brother God of Slaughter’s Judgment is not an absolute skill. The Fallen Envoy can simply dispel it. Moreover, the number of dispels depends on how many status levels the expert surpasses their opponent by. Since Big Brother God of Slaughter is merely in the Holy Domain, while the Fallen Envoy is in the Heavenly Domain, he has five dispel opportunities."

"Exactly! Skill Dispel truly is overpowered. Many exceptionally strong skills are rendered useless against Heavenly Domain experts. This class ability is far superior to any ability granted at the Holy Domain level," Yang Yuheng agreed with a nod.

Class abilities are inherent to each level attained.

The class ability of the Holy Domain level is Eternal Clone: one can expend their primary form’s strength to create a clone with 1% to 50% of the parent’s attributes. This clone remains indefinitely unless reabsorbed into the main body.

However, this ability is nearly useless in combat. Since the clone depletes the primary form’s strength, it takes a long time to recover that strength if the clone is destroyed.

In contrast, the Heavenly Domain’s class ability, Skill Dispel, is incredibly practical. As the name suggests, it enables one to render an enemy’s non-absolute skill ineffective.

For example, if Huang Yi activates Judgment against a Heavenly Domain expert, the latter can dispel the skill, rendering it null. Likewise, if Huang Yi uses the Nefalem skill "Dark Seal" against them, they can dispel it unless their dispel attempts are exhausted. If that happens, even top-level experts in the Heavenly Domain would be sealed for an entire day.

Meanwhile, absolute skills like Absolute Invisibility cannot be dispelled by Heavenly Domain experts. Yet the truth about which skills are absolute remains unknown to outsiders and only becomes apparent after testing. Miyamoto Musashi, for instance, is deeply worried that Huang Yi might use Dark Seal to trap Yi Tian. In reality, one test would reveal that Dark Seal is not an absolute skill and could be dispelled by Yi Tian.

The number of dispels is determined by the disparity in status levels: surpassing an opponent by one status level grants one additional dispel attempt, while surpassing them by a full status hierarchy grants five dispel attempts outright. Since the Fallen Envoy is at the Heavenly Domain level while Huang Yi is merely in the Holy Domain, there’s a full status hierarchy difference, giving the Fallen Envoy five dispel attempts, making this an essentially insurmountable battle.

"My abilities can’t stop the Fallen Envoy; after all, my Reincarnation is not yet complete," Huang Yi admitted, shaking his head.

Hearing this, the Hero Legion members immediately grew despondent, their faces shadowed by despair as though confronting their inevitable doom.

Even the God of Slaughter, who had miraculously turned around countless crises, claimed to have no solution. How could there be any hope left?

Dao Feng cast a skeptical glance at Huang Yi, unwilling to believe that he truly lacked a way to stop the Fallen Envoy. In his eyes, Huang Yi was practically omnipotent—the kind of person who thrived amidst dire circumstances. There was no reason this would be the end for him here.

Suddenly, Dao Feng’s expression shifted slightly as an idea occurred to him. "You just said your abilities couldn’t stop the Fallen Envoy. Does that mean someone else can?"

"Yes!" Huang Yi nodded, his eyes glinting with deliberation.

"Oh? Who?" Yang Yuheng immediately asked.

Every other Hero Legion player also turned their full attention to Huang Yi, fixating on him as they anxiously awaited his answer. They couldn’t fathom who among them could possibly stand against the Fallen Envoy.

In the next moment, Huang Yi uttered two words: "Dragon Spike."

——

Today is my birthday. As I mentioned a few days ago, I went out with friends and stayed out pretty late, leaving less time to write. This Chapter involves explaining the class abilities of the Heavenly Domain as well as setting up a brand-new crisis for Huang Yi, so the thought process was a bit jammed—it took this long just to write this.

Yesterday, I mentioned that if I got into a good rhythm today, there would be three updates. Seeing as this rhythm is clearly not smooth, three is out of the question. However, just one update would feel unfair to everyone, so I’ll stick with the normal two updates today. Another Chapter will be finished around 2 AM. (To be continued.
