Chapter 885 - 837: Sunshine Season (Part 5)
Moreover, these three God Sealers were all Dragon Clan masters from the Eternal Ancient Era.
It was precisely because of the efforts of these three God-Sealing Dragon Clan masters that the Dragon Clan managed to solidify their dominance over the other races in The Second World for generations. Truly, they were figures who changed the course of history.
If not for these three God-Sealing masters, the future might have unfolded differently. For instance, when Huang Yi first arrived, he witnessed the terrifying scene of the Swallowing Pangolin devouring a Fire Dragon.
In the Eternal Ancient Era, countless powerhouses emerged, Primordial Behemoths roamed freely, and countless super-strong magical beasts like the Swallowing Pangolin existed. Back then, the Dragon Clan was not particularly powerful and often faced the fate of being hunted and eaten.
Mo Li continued, "Georgia has already reached the Demigod level; she is currently crafting her Divine Artifact. Once I finish refining the last trace of the Dragon Emperor Heavenly Stone’s energy for my child, you must take my child to Georgia immediately! Thank you! With her protection, I can truly be at peace. I will stay here to divert their attention for you."
"Why would Georgia surely protect your child?" Huang Yi asked further.
Mo Li’s face revealed a nostalgic melancholy as he spoke with a sense of aged weariness: "Because Jin Shenglin, Georgia, and I were childhood friends. When we were young, we often flew to the mountaintops on the world’s edge to play, wandering through this world on the wings of the wind. We explored the seabeds filled with glowing, blue water grass, chased the sun, and raced falling blossoms... Those are memories I will never forget."
Huang Yi fell silent. Historical records held limited information and did not document such details. He hadn’t expected the three God Sealers to have been childhood playmates.
Yet at some point, it was unclear when or how, Mo Li and Jin Shenglin began to diverge and, because of their growing differences, ultimately became mortal enemies, locked into the battle of life and death as it stood today.
Mo Li, cradling his child in his arms, suddenly let two lines of tears fall from his eyes. This once-brutal man now revealed his vulnerable side.
In the dim, flickering light of the room, it illuminated his rugged features, evoking the feeling of a hero at twilight.
Suddenly, he gently rocked the baby in his arms and began to sing a lullaby. His voice, filled with memory, soon drifted through the entire room—
"Goodbye, my friend, though it’s hard to speak,
We met when we were just nine weeks,
Climbed mountains and trees together we’d seek,
When all the birds sang in the sky above,
Everywhere blooming flowers of spring,
Now when you remember me, I’ll always be there.
The joys we had and the sunny days we cherished,
The mountains we climbed aren’t stars nor strong reefs,
Gone with time like footprints on a beach..."
The sorrowful melody floated throughout the room, as if Mo Li were recounting distant memories of his childhood.
The childhood playmates who climbed peaks with him were now outside attacking the Barrier, about to break in and kill him and his child.
The vivid contrast between the past and the present was strikingly poignant.
"Mo Li, will you die?" Huang Yi finally could not help but ask.
If Mo Li were to die, it would completely contradict The Second World’s original history. According to the historical timeline, all three Dragon Clan masters successfully achieved Divine Enthronement.
But from the current scene, it seemed there was little hope for Mo Li to survive.
"I don’t know. Only a miracle could save me now." Mo Li shook his head, then looked down at his child, Gibit, with comfort in his gaze: "But it doesn’t matter. As long as I know my child is alive, that is enough."
"Boom!" At that moment, a tremendous sound echoed from outside, causing the entire house to tremble violently, nearly knocking Huang Yi off his feet.
Mo Li instantly spat out a mouthful of black blood, his already frail body becoming even weaker. His grip tightened on one of the armrests of the Dragon Throne, and black energy surged forth from his body, flowing into the throne in greater volumes.
It became apparent that the Dragon Throne was tied to the strength of the Barrier outside. Mo Li was using his lifeforce to buy them precious time.
Finally, Mo Li took a deep breath and said, "I’ve finished helping my child Gibit absorb the final trace of the Dragon Emperor Heavenly Stone’s energy. Quickly, take my child and leave! I will distract Jin Shenglin and the others for you."
"Understood!" Huang Yi nodded, stepping forward swiftly. He climbed the steps and took Gibit from Mo Li’s arms.
Without hesitation, he retraced his steps, heading back out into the hallway, returning to the room, and once again entering the passageway.
"Crack!" As he stepped into the passage for the final time, Huang Yi heard a sharp cracking sound. It seemed the Barrier had been broken, and the entire Siege Army was pouring in. He even caught faint traces of Jin Shenglin’s commanding voice echoing through the chaos. Mo Li’s fate remained unknown.
Huang Yi pushed himself to move at maximum speed, quickly climbing out of the passageway to reach the city above-ground.
The next segment of his journey was fraught with danger. Holding Gibit, such an obvious target, meant discovery would almost certainly result in countless people across the city hunting them down.
"Come on out, Little Dragon!" Huang Yi immediately summoned Little Dragon and commanded it to maximize its body size using the Holy Dragon Descent skill.
He concealed Gibit on Little Dragon’s back and mounted it himself, positioning his body to shield Gibit, improving their concealment.
Little Dragon instantly soared into the sky, speeding toward the outskirts of the city like a streak of lightning.
"Lightning Conductor!" Huang Yi activated his speed-boosting skill, increasing their flight speed tenfold, rendering them little more than a flash of light.
As he glanced back toward the city center, he saw the City Lord’s Mansion engulfed in dazzling radiance, with countless powerhouses continuously bombarding that area. He couldn’t determine whether Mo Li was still alive.
Huang Yi had already pieced together much of the identities of the Ten Great Deity Sealers of The Second World.
In the Eternal Ancient Era, there were four God Sealers in total.
The first was Wild God, Split Sky, an enigmatic figure who was the successor of the Yellow Emperor and the founder of the Winter Snow Festival. He ascended to the Heaven Realm via the World Tree and successfully became a deity.
The second, third, and fourth were the three Dragon Clan masters—Holy Giant Dragon Georgia, Dark Demon Dragon Mo Li, and Golden Holy Dragon Jin Shenglin—childhood friends from days long past.
Moving forward to the Primordial Era, there were three God Sealers.
The Sword Emperor and Sword Emperor Dao Feng, eternal rivals, sealed their divine statuses in a legendary duel that obliterated the already-wounded World Tree. Their legacies now live on in super-first-class masters Lijian (Sharp Sword) and Dao Feng (Blade’s Edge).
The third Primordial Sealer was Faith God Johns, revered by all priestly professions. He left behind the *Gospel of John,* as well as ten thousand sacred feathers known as the Feather of Johns. Each feather, when possessed, significantly amplifies one’s strength.
The Distant Ancient Era saw the rise of another two God Sealers.
The first was the Sea God, who, in his confrontation with the King of the Fallen, lost his Pillar of Sea God, scattering its fragments across the world. Part of his legacy now lies with the Thunder God, while the Sea Dragon Emperor wields the Sea-Calming Divine Staff, another fragment.
The second was the Thunder Empress, whose tragic romance with the Tide Monarch remains legendary. Her legacy has since been partially inherited by the Pope, as seen in the half-staff, and also in Huang Yi’s Thunder Guard Bracers, created from her severed arms as she attempted to defy the King of Curses.
The Ancient Era gave rise to the final God Sealer, Bloodhoof the Ascender.
This figure, frequently referenced in The Second World, has a mysterious death surrounding his divine status.
These ten figures all altered history profoundly. Each was an indispensable legend in The Second World.
If Mo Li perished, it would cause a severe historical paradox. This could even result in the trial being deemed a failure.
These thoughts, however, were beyond Huang Yi’s control for now. All he could do was focus on sending Gibit to the hands of Holy Giant Dragon Georgia as quickly as possible.
Huang Yi sped rapidly toward the outer reaches of the city, cutting a stark contrast to the frantic crowds rushing toward the city center. However, those he passed paid little attention to him. At his lightning-fast speed, they barely saw him, let alone the child hidden under his protection.
"Jin Shenglin, come on! Unleash your full strength and fight me!" From a distance, Huang Yi faintly heard the ferocious voice of Dark Demon Dragon Mo Li bellowing out!
Relief washed over Huang Yi. Thankfully, Mo Li was still alive. If that were true, history might remain intact after all. With no worries over Gibit, Mo Li should have some means to escape.
Finally, Little Dragon carried Huang Yi and Gibit beyond the city walls, reaching the vast expanse of the Primordial Land, where the primal and untamed wilderness engulfed their senses once more.
Their journey ahead would traverse an uncivilized terrain, riddled with countless Primordial Beasts and myriad dangers.
Mo Li had mentioned earlier that Gibit would enter a month-long sleep. During this period, Gibit would be a complete burden, offering no aid; Huang Yi would have to rely solely on himself to face and resolve all challenges.
The noises of the city gradually faded behind them, and its vast silhouette shrank into a mere dot on the horizon.
Looking down at the sleeping Gibit in his arms and surveying the ancient wilderness around them, Huang Yi’s expression grew heavy with resolve.
