Chapter 779 - 743: Deep Sea Demon Beast

Chapter 779 - 743: Deep Sea Demon Beast

"By the way, why don’t our guild join your legion!" At this moment, Dugu Lengcang spoke and withdrew his guild from the Desire Legion, immediately joining Huang Yi’s Hero Legion.

The Hero Legion had no requirements for joining. As long as you were from the Hero’s Continent, you could join without needing anyone’s approval. The threshold was set to its absolute minimum.

Huang Yi took a sip of tea, his mouth filled with a refreshing fragrance. Sitting by the window, he gazed out at the vast expanse of heaven and earth outside. The distant mountains undulated endlessly, seemingly the perfect place for cultivating immortality and seeking enlightenment.

"You’ve got a great place here!" Huang Yi exclaimed in admiration, feeling his body and mind noticeably relaxed.

Dugu Lengcang also took a sip of tea, looking at the undulating mountain range outside the window and said, "Actually, there’s a vein of World Stone here—a vital foundation for our guild. Every day, we worry about invaders discovering this place." As he spoke, he turned his gaze back to Huang Yi and said, "God of Slaughter, how confident are you about taking on this national battle and driving away those invaders?"

"It’s impossible relying solely on me." Huang Yi shook his head slightly, gazing into the vast heavens and earth outside with a distant look. "But if we can gather Sword Emperor, Sword King, and Dragon Emperor, along with me, Thunder God, and Gentleman, six super-first-class masters in total, we’d have absolute certainty."

Dugu Lengcang nodded slightly, thinking for a moment before saying, "Sword Emperor shouldn’t be an issue; as long as you find him, he’ll most likely agree to join the battlefield. But Sword King and Dragon Emperor—that’s another story. The former is mysterious, hard to track down; the latter doesn’t care about anyone’s life or death and is almost devoid of compassion."

"Let’s fight first and see how things unfold! The future is still long; anything can happen..." Huang Yi replied faintly, his gaze returning to the magnificent landscape outside the window.

...

In the blink of an eye, a few days passed.

The invading legion had quieted down somewhat over the past few days, refraining from launching large-scale operations. The Hero’s Continent was relatively peaceful. However, the enemy was undoubtedly brewing a fiercer battle, with even more meticulous planning than before.

The Hero Legion had made a decisive stand earlier, attracting many players to join. Some guilds even withdrew from the Desire Legion, turning their allegiances towards the Hero Legion.

Others remained cautious and observant, as the Hero Legion’s overall accomplishments still couldn’t compare to those of the Desire Legion. Yet, the Hero Legion was brimming with hope. If signs appeared that it might surpass the Desire Legion, it would inevitably attract even more guilds.

On this particular day, Huang Yi’s physical body was aboard a ship heading towards the Central Continent. Reclining comfortably in the shade of the deck, he was absorbed in reading a book.

"Still reading ’Overview of the First World,’ huh?" Just then, a woman’s voice rang out. Huang Yi turned his head to look; it was none other than the Tidal Calling Siren Princess Nami.

"Yeah! I need to study this book carefully." Huang Yi nodded. He had spent the past few days diligently poring over this book whenever he had some downtime.

The Tidal Calling Siren Princess glanced around at the endless ocean and said, "The Compass of Elemental Spirits is showing signs of activity. The Spirit of Thunder and Lightning should be somewhere close by. But this area is dangerous; we must remain cautious."

"Oh?" Huang Yi immediately closed the book, his expression turning serious as he perked up.

During the martial arts tournament, he had exchanged stones in the Reward Vault for a disposable item called the Compass of Elemental Spirits. It revealed the location of a Spirit of Thunder and Lightning, and this voyage to the Central Continent was based on the compass’s guidance. Now, they finally had a lead.

Once he obtained the Spirit of Thunder and Lightning and collected the other Thunder Guard Bracer in the Central Continent, he could upgrade it into Epic Equipment.

"If we’re getting close, I’ll have someone search!" Huang Yi said, summoning a brand-new contracted creature.

The creature was a giant octopus with eight long tentacles covered in round suckers. Its bloodshot eyes emitted a sinister red glow, looking menacing and terrifying, akin to a legendary sea monster.

It was a new Demonic God Clone—Water Demon—crafted during Huang Yi’s leisure time in the Reincarnation Cycle on Singapore Continent.

Water Demon (Demonic God, ranked 95th)

The Water Demon was a God Sealer originating from the Third World. Its true form was a deep-sea octopus that achieved Divine Enthronement after consuming an SS-class treasure called Deep Sea Jade Paste, unlocking tremendous power. It entered the Demon Realm and became one of the 108 Great Demon Gods. The Water Demon excelled in Water Magic, wielding unparalleled combat prowess in aquatic environments, utilizing various water-based abilities.

"Water Demon, search the nearby waters for a Spirit of Thunder and Lightning. Be cautious, as this is a dangerous territory," Huang Yi instructed.

The Water Demon immediately obeyed, its eight tentacles whipping about as it leaped into the boundless deep sea, sending up massive sprays.

This deep-sea region was incomprehensibly vast and deep, with unknown aquatic creatures lurking in its depths. Observing it from above, one might occasionally spot huge shadows swimming beneath the surface, their actual species remaining a mystery. Just staring into the abyss could induce deep-sea phobia in most people.

Human beings were insignificantly small compared to such oceans, completely negligible!

For the Water Demon, however, the ocean was nothing short of paradise, enabling it to unleash its peak combat potential.

Once submerged, the Water Demon stretched its body comfortably before swiftly diving deep into the endless abyss, disappearing without a trace.

Meanwhile, Huang Yi and the Tidal Calling Siren Princess remained seated on the deck, waiting patiently.

At that moment, the ocean stretched out endlessly under a cloudless sky. The calm waters and serene blend of sea and sky exuded peace and tranquility. Lounging on the deck beneath the warm sun offered a surprisingly blissful experience.

Yet this tranquility was but a facade; the most perilous zones in the Second World weren’t on land—they were in the oceans!

With a surface area far exceeding that of all continents combined and its vast biodiversity still largely unexplored, the oceans of the Second World remain one of its greatest mysteries. Even after countless generations and exceptional biologists, the true depths of aquatic life remain an enigma, understood only as the tip of an iceberg.

The seas were rife with perilous zones—some plagued by perpetual storms, rendering nautical navigation impossible due to erratic compasses; others were home to immensely powerful magical beasts, their mere presence capable of triggering tsunamis. Encounters with such beasts spelled certain doom. Yet other sections were havens for pirates, their ships prowling the waters to ambush passing vessels. Some pirates possessed celestial-level strength, making them formidable foes.

Natural and man-made disasters plagued the expansive oceans. Over recent days, Huang Yi’s Cloud Sail Battleship had adhered strictly to relatively safe routes. They meandered, unable to take a direct path to the Central Continent, effectively doubling the time required to reach their destination.

"Boom!" Suddenly, a massive rumbling emerged from the depths beneath the ocean, as though something monumental had happened below!

The seawater surged violently, forming a rapid tsunami. Towering waves lifted the Cloud Sail Battleship high into the air before it came crashing down onto the ocean surface. Huang Yi and the Siren Princess were thrown to the deck!

Simultaneously, the cloudless sky became obscured by dense, oppressive clouds. The world darkened, with raging waves and howling winds creating an apocalyptic scene!

"This is bad! We’ve probably awakened some terrifying deep-sea monster!" The Siren Princess’s expression turned grim. "Back when I journeyed the oceans with Lord Sea God, I encountered countless sea creatures. Some were colossal, slumbering deep beneath the waves, rarely surfacing. Yet their strength was unimaginable—some rivaled demigods. Acting purely on instinct, these creatures’ awakenings could plunge entire regions into doomsday. Judging by these ominous signs, this beast’s power must be at least that of an advanced Heavenly Domain Expert, possibly even top-level Heavenly Domain Expert!"

Huang Yi’s stomach churned. If this truly were such an opponent, he’d struggle to handle it.

Although he possessed a Nefalem Skill named Dark Seal, it required Level 150 to activate, whereas he was only at Level 110 now, leaving him unable to wield it.

His only other option was to deploy advanced Heavenly Domain experts from Heroes’ Prison, but this wasn’t his territory. Summoning prisoners here would confine them to the ship—incapable of combating the deep-sea beast.

"I didn’t expect pursuing a Spirit of Thunder and Lightning would provoke such a monstrous entity!" Huang Yi exhaled deeply.

"Whiz!" Just then, a shadow shot up abruptly from the ocean depths, trailing a towering cascade of seawater!

Huang Yi focused intently and immediately recognized the giant octopus—it was none other than the Water Demon. Its tentacles clutched a glowing orb sparking with electrifying arcs—a dense concentration of Thunder Attributes!

"The Spirit of Thunder and Lightning!" Seeing the orb, Huang Yi instantly realized what it was.

The Water Demon descended quickly onto the deck, handing the electrifying sphere to Huang Yi with panic in its voice: "Master, this is the Spirit of Thunder and Lightning! But when I retrieved it, I inadvertently awakened an unfathomably powerful deep-sea monster. It’s now in a frenzy beneath the waves, rapidly approaching the surface. I’m no match for it."

"Then we escape, now!" Huang Yi swiftly stored the Spirit of Thunder and Lightning in his storage ring and prepared to issue a rapid retreat order.

"No chance of escape! A deep-sea monster’s speed far outmatches this Cloud Sail Battleship!" The Siren Princess interjected, her tone heavy with dread.
