Chapter 776 - 740: Return to Bai Long Lake

Their third interaction came after Huang Yi’s reincarnation when he had just returned to Hero’s Continent. During a conference with Desire Arises from the Heart, tensions led Huang Yi to leave the meeting hall. A later report revealed that Gentleman criticized Desire Arises from the Heart after Huang Yi’s departure.

In these three encounters, Gentleman showed no hostility toward Huang Yi and even seemed to aid him instead. Huang Yi couldn’t help but remain suspicious of this character, believing Gentleman to be surrounded by secrets. His recent departure from the Desire Legion to join Huang Yi’s legion reinforced this impression.

Lin Yiqin couldn’t contain his grin and replied, "Perhaps the enemy felt threatened by you and Gentleman’s presence. All invading armies in our territories have just received orders to retreat temporarily! None of our territories have fallen; all are intact."

Yun Sihai nodded as well, his expression filled with hope. "Indeed! We’ve weathered this catastrophe! The national war on Hero’s Continent has reached a turning point! We might not lose this conflict, and our Hero Legion has gained tremendous fame, sure to attract more players to join."

"Hmm, but the enemy will be more cautious now. This national war is far from over! The enemy forces still outnumber us significantly—it’s imperative we remain vigilant," Huang Yi warned. Though he still had hidden tactics, like Thunder God’s impending attack on Heaven’s Guild on the American Continent.

Yun Sihai and Lin Yiqin left shortly to handle post-battle affairs.

Huang Yi decided to investigate the Harbinger of Doomsday further. The one who understood it best was surely the White Dragon King!

Years ago, the Harbinger of Doomsday had fought the Ancestor of White Dragon and lost its legs, which fell near Bai Long Lake. The Ancestor couldn’t destroy the legs and instead sealed them with holy aura from the Divine Realm. The White Dragon Clan descendants protected the seal over generations, down to the White Dragon King.

Following his father Beast God’s instructions, Huang Yi brought Xiao Chunzi to Bai Long Lake to absorb the holy aura and neutralize the threat of the legs. Bai Long Lake had tied his fate to the Harbinger of Doomsday; investigating there seemed fitting.

He arrived at the teleportation circle in Xuanyuan City and transported to one of the cities closest to Bai Long Lake—Hedun City, where the Mother Cat birthed him.

He recalled being born by the Mother Cat and endured abuse from his NPC owner; back then, he could barely stand and had to be carried into the forest by the Mother Cat to survive.

Now, he had grown to become the greatest master in the world. He couldn’t recount how many events happened during this period. Yet, oddly, the time he cherished the most was his early days, wandering the forest with the Mother Cat.

With these memories swirling, Huang Yi left the city quickly, heading toward Bai Long Lake.

Soon after, he reached a dense forest and passed by some ruins.

This was once Wind Forest Stronghold, now a wasteland overgrown with weeds and moss.

Huang Yi treaded through the forest, following the path he and the Little White Cat had once taken when escaping from Lord Man Lie of Wind Forest Stronghold as if retracing his steps in memory.

His pace far outmatched that of his past self. Before long, he crossed a mountain peak and saw a glistening, serene lake nestled among the wild mountains, resembling Shangri-la.

Huang Yi effortlessly made his way to a reed-filled dock, where he saw an elderly man fishing on a small boat near the shore, motionless like an eternal statue.

Huang Yi climbed aboard the small boat and sat down. He grabbed a nearby reed, placed it casually in his mouth, and asked, "Since the Harbinger of Doomsday’s legs were neutralized, nothing major has happened here, right?"

"Correct, our White Dragon Clan has lived peacefully here," the White Dragon King replied, nodding. Then, curious, he asked, "What brings you here suddenly?"
