Chapter 643 - 618: The Wanted Criminal on Par with Huang Yi

Chapter 643 - 618: The Wanted Criminal on Par with Huang Yi

Huang Yi quietly watched the man. Although the man was wearing a bamboo hat and a straw raincoat, and his equipment was far from fancy, Huang Yi’s Treasure-sniffing Ability clearly sensed that the man was wearing four pieces of Legendary Equipment. Among them, the bamboo hat, straw raincoat, and fishing rod were of that Semi-Epic Tier of Legendary—ones that had the potential to evolve into Epic Equipment!

Originally, upon seeing the man’s bamboo hat, Huang Yi immediately thought of Gentleman, who also wore a bamboo hat. However, Gentleman possessed five pieces of Legendary Equipment whereas the man before him had only four, an inconsistency in number. Moreover, Gentleman was usually accompanied by a woman clad in white with a bamboo hat, but this man was alone.

The most important difference was the aura. Gentleman exuded the dignity of someone in a high position, as well as the presence of a general due to the armor he wore. The man before Huang Yi, on the other hand, seemed like an ordinary fisherman by the sea, without any imposing presence.

"God of Slaughter, may I have a word with you?" Just then, the man, without lifting his head, asked Huang Yi. He wore the bamboo hat that covered all but his chin, which was sharply contoured, suggesting he was probably in his twenties. His voice was thin, akin to a breeze.

Huang Yi was taken aback. To avoid drawing attention, he had deliberately left the temple through a side door with Xiao Chunzi and Qin Shiyu; it should have been impossible for anyone to detect him. Even Tracking Skills were ineffective against him, because he possessed an Anti Surveillance Passive Skill that made him immune to enemy Tracking Skills.

Clearly, the man before him knew his whereabouts and had been waiting here on purpose. His bizarre dress, coupled with three damaged Epic Equipment pieces and his strange act of spectral fishing, shrouded everything about him in mystery.

"Alright," Huang Yi nodded and then turned to look at Qin Shiyu and Xiao Chunzi. "You go ahead first!" he said.

"Okay, be careful," Qin Shiyu glanced at Huang Yi and then at the straw raincoat-clad man, eventually leading Xiao Chunzi away by another path.

Suddenly, in the quiet alley, only Huang Yi and the man in the straw raincoat were left, aside from the gentle sunshine and the soft spring breeze.

"I know you have many questions. Now, you may ask me three questions first," the man continued, still without raising his head.

"How did you know I would come here?" Huang Yi asked his first question.

The straw raincoat-clad man said nothing, but slowly lifted his head, revealing his face.

At that moment, Huang Yi finally understood.

The man was indeed young, probably in his twenties, with double eyelids, and a high nose bridge. What was most unusual about him was his forehead. On his forehead, he had a vertical eye that glowed with a faint red hue, appearing exceedingly eerie.

This eye was exactly the same as The Third Eye Huang Yi had become! No wonder the man was aware of his whereabouts. The other wasn’t using a Tracking Skill to determine his location but instead relied on visual abilities.

The Third Eye had the power of Clairvoyance, capable of Piercing through walls. Previously, everyone knew Huang Yi was inside the temple. As long as the man was near the temple, he could use The Third Eye to see where Huang Yi was inside. Since Huang Yi and his companions were walking slowly, chatting as they went, the man naturally could have taken a shortcut to wait for him here in this alley.

"What are you fishing for?" Huang Yi, seeing the man still fishing, couldn’t help but ask his second question.

"Swoosh!" Just then, the line on the man’s fishing rod suddenly tensed, and the rod trembled as if something had taken the bait!

But Huang Yi could clearly see that there was nothing on the fishhook; it merely dangled in the air!

"Got one!" The man muttered to himself and immediately reeled in the fishing rod!

Instantly, the fishhook was pulled up from the air! At the same time, an almost transparent fish, seemingly made of a wisp of smoke, was yanked out from the void!

The man took the transparent fish off the hook and brought it to his lips, devouring it in a few bites.

This scene was bizarre beyond words. The fish itself was strange enough, resembling smoke and seemingly intangible like a soul. How the man was able to eat such a peculiar fish was incomprehensible.

"I am fishing for Heroic Spirits from the Underworld." The man wiped his lips, savoring the taste, "My Rare Class is rather special; it requires the use of Heroic Souls from the Underworld."

"Do you know where the Underworld is?" Huang Yi was instantly startled and blurted out. The Underworld was a place shrouded in mystery where the souls of beings from this world, if not bound by others, would go upon death. Not long ago, when he was exploring the Dragon Tomb in the Demonic Beast Mountain Range, the Heroic Spirit of Little Dragon’s mother was compelled to leave Little Dragon and dissipate from this world due to the pull of the Underworld.

But no one knew exactly where the Underworld was or how to enter it. It was a secret that had eluded countless strong beings over countless years.

"I don’t know either." The man shook his head, "I can only fish for Heroic Spirits from the Underworld. As for the location of the Underworld itself, that secret is not something we can access at this time."

After saying this, he put away his fishing rod and looked at Huang Yi, "Alright, you’ve asked all three of your questions. But it seems there is one more important question you didn’t have time to ask—my identity."

"I need not ask that question." Huang Yi shook his head, "Because you will tell me yourself."

"The number one criminal of Rose Prison indeed stands out! Never wastes even the slightest opportunity! No wonder the former Chairman of the World Federation lost his life by your hands," said the man with a sudden chuckle. Yet, the words he uttered completely shocked Huang Yi!

The number one criminal of Rose Prison!

This man actually knew Huang Yi’s identity in the real world! And his tone wasn’t one of guessing, but of absolute certainty!

Previously, some had speculated that Huang Yi was a member of Rose Prison, like the Poet, who had analyzed Huang Yi’s identity. But that was just ethereal conjecture and not to be taken with certainty.

However, the tone of this man was very confident that Huang Yi was indeed the number one criminal of Rose Prison!

Huang Yi’s facial expression remained unchanged, still maintaining the calm from before, and said without any sign of disturbance, "You have a rich imagination. Huang Yi is an assassin, and such people usually hide in the shadows. How could they expose themselves like I do?"

"There’s no need for you to test me any further," the man shook his head straightaway, "You can’t hide it, and you don’t need to hide it. An assassin can’t be seen in the light, but you can be. In fact, the highest realm for an assassin is not to seem like an assassin at all. You certainly aren’t one—assassins are merely killing machines that obey orders, but you’re not that. You’re a hero, or should I say, a leader."

"You have quite a way with flattery, but I’m short on time, so if you don’t have anything important, I’m leaving," Huang Yi issued his final ultimatum, not wanting to get entangled with this man on the matter anymore.

"It seems that to gain your trust, I must reveal my identity, which is fine, as I never intended to hide it," said the man, shrugging his shoulders. He then addressed Huang Yi, "My name is You Dongde."

"You Dongde?" Huang Yi frowned slightly upon hearing the name, finding it somewhat strange.

"Read it again, and you’ll discover my real identity," the man nodded, his tone somewhat mysterious.

"You Dongde, You Dongde, Ni Dongde!" Suddenly, Huang Yi’s heart chilled!

He had not expected to encounter this legendary figure!

Years ago, the World Federation issued a notorious Poker Card Warrant!

The World Federation turned the world’s top 54 most dangerous fugitives into a deck of poker cards, distributed globally in search of these 54 individuals!

These 54 had committed heinous crimes that threatened the safety of the World Federation, with each bounty exceeding one billion US dollars!

Originally, Huang Yi was also pictured on those cards, with his corresponding card being a king, representing the highest level of threat!

And the other king on that deck of cards was none other than Ni Dongde standing before him!

Ever since Huang Yi was incarcerated, the Poker Card Warrant only had Ni Dongde left as a king card!

However, what’s strange is that Ni Dongde is exceedingly mysterious, and despite how much manpower and money the World Federation spent, they could never catch him. He was like a ghost, drifting in the real world, beyond the reach of even the World Federation’s immense resources!

Plus, no one knew what crimes Ni Dongde had actually committed—that had always been a mystery, one that not even the organization behind Huang Yi could uncover.

Huang Yi had never expected to meet this legendary character here, someone who stood alongside him as one of the top wanted fugitives!

"What do you want?" Huang Yi steadied himself and continued to inquire. The other party’s word-of-mouth wasn’t enough corroboration of his identity.

Ni Dongde looked at Huang Yi and suddenly became very serious, saying, "I want to collaborate with you. The World Federation has become increasingly dangerous, and you together with Lei Shen are growing more and more powerful in The Second World. Don’t ask me how I found out about your relationship with Thunder God; you just need to know that it’s right to cooperate with me. Alone I can’t stand against the World Federation, but together we might have a chance. Outside of prison, there are many things I can do that you can’t."

"Of course, you might still not believe my identity," Ni Dongde said with a slight smile, "but I believe you will cooperate with me. In a few days, I’ll make the Ace of Hearts turn himself in. As per the habits of the World Federation, they’ll surely lock him up in the impenetrable Rose Prison to prevent any jailbreak. By the time he enters the cell, he’ll explain everything to you. He will live with you until the World Federation is overthrown."

"The Ace of Hearts!" With that code name, Huang Yi suddenly recalled another person—Zhang Yujian!

Zhang Yujian was also a key figure in that Poker Card Warrant of the World Federation, represented by the Ace of Hearts, hence his nickname, Ace of Hearts!

Huang Yi had not expected that Zhang Yujian would be Ni Dongde’s man. Ni Dongde surely played big, to gain Huang Yi’s trust by having such an important figure surrender and enter Rose Prison on his own initiative.
