Chapter 403 - 393 World Sensation (4th Update)

Chapter 403 - 393 World Sensation (4th Update)

Soon, the meteorite landed in front of Huang Yi and Black Demon. Its body abruptly stopped and morphed into a figure fully shrouded in darkness, with muscles coiled up like those of a primitive man. It was unmistakably the Fallen Messenger.

At the moment, the Fallen Messenger’s form bore a slightly chaotic aura, particularly around the arm where a wound could be seen, suggesting that he had gone through a formidable battle.

"I have seen the Fallen Messenger, my Lord!" Black Demon respectfully bowed, saluting the Fallen Messenger with utmost deference.

"Rise," the Fallen Messenger said blandly, waving his hand. His penetrating gaze shifted onto Huang Yi.

In an instant, Huang Yi felt as though he was severed from the surrounding world, isolated within that gaze, which pierced him like a dagger.

"You are ’Instakill’?" the Fallen Messenger asked, looking at Huang Yi with interest, his tone devoid of any hostility.

"Yes!" Huang Yi nodded, speaking evenly and meeting the Fallen Messenger’s eyes calmly, his thoughts inscrutable.

"Hmm, very good!" After observing Huang Yi for a while, the Fallen Messenger suddenly cracked a slight smile, "You are indeed among the best of Heaven Sent, keeping your composure under my pressure. No wonder Lord Yama has named you the Eighth Great Demon King."

"How is Man Tian doing?" Huang Yi shifted the conversation to his most concerning matter, Man Tian.

"I’ve beaten him severely; he won’t be stirring trouble for a while," said the Fallen Messenger, his face darkening slightly, "A pity I couldn’t capture that half of the Epic Equipment he possessed. In the end, he used a secret method to escape, vanishing without a trace. I couldn’t even detect his breath, let alone catch him."

"Severely injured?" Huang Yi pondered, his expression growing somber. Man Tian was a Celestial Realm Expert, and even in his wounded state, he had the power to kill him numerous times over. It was likely that Man Tian was now hiding somewhere abroad, ready to appear out of nowhere and end his life. From now on, he would have to live in constant fear.

"Are you worried that he might suddenly return to trouble you one day?" The Fallen Messenger seemed to read Huang Yi’s mind and asked the question before chuckling lightly, "You need not worry. By aiding the Sand Thief King to report this information, you have done us a great service. Although the Sand Thief King is weak, he has his uses. This continent is so barren that capable individuals are rare, and he is one of the few you protected; naturally, I won’t let your life be threatened."

As the Fallen Messenger spoke, a dark stone appeared in his hand, which he handed to Huang Yi, "This stone is called the Induction Stone. It can sense the presence of Celestial Realm Experts. Should a Celestial Realm Expert pursue you, you can use this stone to contact me at any time. I can appear beside you in an instant through this stone, always ready to protect you."

"Thank you very much!" Huang Yi nodded, accepting the stone.

The stone felt slightly cold to the touch, indistinguishable from an ordinary stone; it wouldn’t attract a second glance if tossed on the ground. But for Huang Yi, this stone was a lifesaver!

With this stone, it was as though he had a Celestial Realm Expert for a bodyguard. The only downside was that this bodyguard would not always be available, appearing only upon detecting a Celestial Realm Expert. The stone would be ineffective against Holy Domain Warriors, even those at level 199, pursuing Huang Yi.

"No need for thanks, you have earned this," the Fallen Messenger shook his head, "People abhor us demonic creatures, branding us all as treacherous and deceitful, none of us good. But in truth, we are clear about gratitude and grudge. Having aided us, it is only natural we repay the favor. On the other hand, those who constantly tout justice are the ones harboring sinister intentions, never matching their words with their hearts."

"Indeed! Indeed!" Black Demon chimed in just then, nodding repeatedly.

"Instakill!" The Fallen Messenger turned his attention back to Huang Yi, "I now invite you, in my capacity as an avatar of the Fallen Messenger, to join the ranks of the Seven Archdemons. Would you be willing? With your talents, joining the Seven Archdemons would ensure you receive focused cultivation, and your status would far exceed mine. Lord Yama has mentioned multiple times that should you join us, you would be the Eighth Great Demon King, ranking alongside the other seven Kings, even equal in standing with Lord Yama himself. This is an unprecedented opportunity. Whatever you desire, you shall have."

His words were rife with temptation, offering terms that would be irresistible to most. Huang Yi’s renown in the outside world was indeed significant, but it provided no tangible benefits. Joining the Seven Archdemons, however, would instantly elevate him to a position of power, capable of commanding influence and preventing occurrences like being hunted by Man Tian. With just an order, he could dispatch a host of demonic Celestial Realm Experts to slay Man Tian.

"Thank you for your kind offer. I haven’t decided yet; this matter is of great significance, and I must deliberate carefully," Huang Yi feigned hesitation, seemingly moved by the offer, but it was all an act.

Seeing Huang Yi’s expression, a glint of satisfaction flashed in the Fallen Messenger’s eyes as he smiled faintly, "No worries, take your time. I am not asking you to join us immediately. It’s only right for you to ponder such an important decision. When you have made your mind up, come to the Abyss to find Black Demon at any time. He will receive you."

"Instakill, you’re welcome to seek me out at any moment!" Black Demon promptly nodded, addressing Huang Yi.

"Alright! After giving it some thought, I will come to find you." Huang Yi said, his eyes shifting before he looked up at the sky and added, "I have other matters to attend to, so I must leave now. We will meet again!"

Having said that, he gave a slight nod to the Black Demon and the Fallen Messenger, then transformed into a White Dragon Form and soared into the sky, quickly disappearing into the endless darkness.

"Lord Fallen Messenger, do you think Instakill will join us?" At that moment, the Black Demon gazed in the direction where Huang Yi had vanished and asked the Fallen Messenger.

Right then, the Fallen Messenger’s face had lost the smile he had shown while speaking with Huang Yi. With a solemn expression, he looked up into the distance where Huang Yi was growing smaller and shook his head, saying, "It’s hard to say with him. From his experiences, he doesn’t seem like someone who would easily succumb to temptation. But this time, the terms we’ve offered are quite generous; it would be difficult for him to refuse again. Let’s wait for his response. There’s still time before the king’s plan unfolds. If he agrees, it will save us a lot of trouble. He still has some value to us now, but once we are ready, he will become insignificant."

With that, the Fallen Messenger shook his head, rose into the air, and quickly disappeared through the wavering Demon King’s Gate, leaving no trace to be seen.

...

Huang Yi flew with all his might high above the Abyss, utilizing the Legendary Cloak’s Absolute Invisibility, which made him undetectable to the Holy Domain Beasts he passed along the way.

His heart relaxed slightly. For now, the chase had come to a temporary end. Escaping from Man Tian’s pursuit had been smoother than expected; with the appearance of the Fallen Messenger, the victory was practically announced, and he didn’t face any significant threats to his life.

However, this respite was only temporary. Man Tian had not been killed and was now hiding in an overseas region, potentially returning at any moment.

Although Huang Yi possessed the Induction Stone from the Fallen Messenger, he still felt uneasy. The Fallen Messenger seemed cordial on the surface, but his true motives were unknown. Huang Yi was reluctant to use the Induction Stone unless it was an emergency.

For now, his main priority was to advance to the Holy Domain Rank quickly. Once he broke through to the Holy Domain, his strength would reach a completely new level. By then, he should be able to retrieve the keys to the Heavenly Realm Experts in Heroes’ Prison, truly gaining the power to protect himself.

Currently at Level 90, he was the player closest to the Holy Domain Rank in the entire world and the one nearest to completing the world mission set by the Oskan Royal Academy. If he managed to be the first to break through Level 100, he would earn two National Honor Points in one fell swoop and receive the support of the Oskan Royal Academy to lead a team to the Fallen God Continent. There, they would investigate the mysterious death of the last God Sealer – Bloodhoof the Ascendant. This epic event had the potential to directly influence the ultimate direction of The Second World!

...

Gradually, night fell, and after a long day, Huang Yi decided to log off to have a meal.

As soon as he logged off, Huang Yi felt a chill. He got out of bed and went to the window to look outside.

It was night, and gusts of cold wind blew in through the window, the temperature extremely low. Unnoticed, winter had arrived, leaving behind a desolate scene in the world outside.

A year had passed, and the days Huang Yi spent in Rose Prison had been long. Spring had turned to winter, and it was unclear when this would end.

Huang Yi added a coat over his clothes and put it on. At the door of his cell, there was a bowl of food, specially prepared for him by his brothers from Rose Prison.

He immediately went over and began to devour the meal eagerly.

Holding the bowl, Huang Yi ate as he walked out of the prison. Most of the people in the prison were staying in their cells; the air was quiet as it seemed they were all adventuring in The Second World.

"Creak~" Just then, Thunder God’s cell door opened, and he emerged with a cigarette in his mouth. Seeing Huang Yi eating in the corridor, he cracked a slight smile and approached, saying, "Ah-Yi, it looks like you’ve escaped this chase, enjoying your meal so heartily."

"For the time being, I’ve managed to escape. Things should be relatively calm for a while." Huang Yi scooped up a big mouthful of rice, chewing loudly as he spoke in the echoed corridor.
