Chapter 367: Level 199 Guardian Mecha

Just at this moment, a mage dressed in a blue and white magic robe resurrected in a corner of the respawn point in Tiantai City; he was none other than Ice Wind Water Soul.

At this very moment, standing amidst the noisy crowd, he was surrounded by uproar, and lifting his head, he couldn’t spot a single familiar face.

"Damn, I thought following Ice Wind Water Soul would give me an advantage, but I ended up losing my life instead."

"I’m even worse off, my girlfriend has reincarnated!"

"Why can’t Instakill ever be killed for good? How many times has he encountered situations that should’ve been certain death, yet each one was somehow resolved by An Ran? Can’t the Half-Beast Holy Land send a Celestial Realm Expert to deal with this scourge?"

"Sigh, following Ice Wind Water Soul leads to nothing grand."

The conversations of the crowd around him included some who were pointing fingers at Ice Wind Water Soul; these words clearly rang in his ears, marking the moment when those who were once under his command had become an existence he could no longer face. He could only hurriedly lift his sleeve to cover his face and lower his head as he stepped out of the respawn area, in order to avoid being recognized.

"Fluttering Maple Leaf, tally up how many of our guild brothers have reincarnated," Ice Wind Water Soul sent a message to the leader of the Wind Kingdom’s Battlefield Group, Fluttering Maple Leaf, as he left the respawn point.

"Around thirty thousand, including Feifei," Fluttering Maple Leaf replied.

Ice Wind Water Soul’s heart sank; the "Feifei" mentioned by Fluttering Maple Leaf was the Wind Kingdom’s vice guild leader— even the vice guild leader had reincarnated.

A sense of powerlessness towards Huang Yi rose in his heart. He had had conflicts with Huang Yi twice, but each time, he was defeated so thoroughly without Huang Yi even making a move; he died amidst the aftershocks of the battle, without even the chance for a head-on fight.

He suddenly recalled the words Huang Yi had previously said to him—

"With such petty ambition, laughing contentedly at a plan so despicable; it’s no wonder you’re always being manipulated by others, a puppet for those true villains behind the scene."

These words echoed in his mind like a curse.

He thought of Lv Bu, of Zhuge Liang, and those behind the scenes; they hid behind the curtain, neither clear nor distinct, occasionally tossing out a word or phrase, commanding him from their lofty perch, and he did indeed very much resemble a puppet now.

"I refuse to become a puppet! Even a cornered dog will bite!" Ice Wind Water Soul clenched his teeth and balled his fists.

"Ding!" Just as he was brooding, he received a message from the personnel left in charge at the Wind Kingdom’s Guild City.

He immediately opened it to see.

After reading it, his face turned pale.

...

"Instakill, we’ve finished off all of them," Sand King raised a trail of dust all the way to Huang Yi’s side outside of Dragon City.

"Thank you for your efforts," Huang Yi nodded. Now, within his line of sight was nothing but equipment and corpses, the air heavy with the stench of blood—as many as fifteen million players had fallen here.

"Brother Yi, we’ve finally avenged our massive grudge with fifteen million people dead; it’s all over," said Light Demon, looking at the vast expanse of corpses and feeling a sense of poignancy.

"No," Huang Yi shook his head, a chilling smile crossing the corner of his mouth, "this is just the beginning."

At this very moment, his incarnation had already returned to the gates of the Wind Kingdom’s city.

The gates of the Wind Kingdom were now shut tight, impassable from the ground.

Scaling the walls or flying over them was impossible too, since the Heavenly Curtain Barrier blocked the way.

The city had become an impregnable turtle shell, and Huang Yi couldn’t enter by any means. This place was not his territory; he couldn’t release the Criminal’s original body, only its incarnation. But Criminal Incarnation wouldn’t follow his commands and couldn’t be used to lay siege.

"Squeak!" Just then, a scraping noise came from ahead as the large, firmly closed city gates began to slowly open.

Through the gates, one could see the clean, tidy streets and the multi-layered skyscrapers in the distance. The Guild City that the Wind Kingdom had built with great effort was now exposed before Huang Yi, available for his taking.

Inside the city gate was a solitary figure, none other than Lang Ge, who looked outside at Huang Yi, covered his mouth with a chuckle, and said a bit sheepishly, "Brother Yi, come on in!" His every move was just like that of a girl.

Huang Yi nodded and stepped forward, entering the inner part of the Guild City in the Wind Kingdom.

Ice Wind Water Soul had activated various protective measures, defending the city gates staunchly, all to prevent his entry. Yet at this moment, he strolled in through the city gate without any effort!

"Sissy Bro, did you send away all the guards around here?" Huang Yi turned to look around but didn’t see anyone.

"Yes, indeed! I’m the person left in charge here, the temporary supreme commander. I’ve relocated all of them," Lang Ge nodded and smiled, "I’ll take you to the War Flag location!" Having said that, he quickly started walking ahead, leading the way for Huang Yi.

Lang Ge led Huang Yi through particularly concealed routes, passing along alleys bathed in the sunset’s glow, through garden after garden, until they reached an empty open space.

In front of the open space stood a fort that gleamed brilliantly, built entirely out of hard diamond, its exterior carved with magic runes. Bathed in the sunset light, it reflected a golden radiance. Just looking at it, one could estimate that it would take a mid-level Holy Domain warrior to break its defenses.

Outside the fortress were five powerful Guardian Mechas standing still in various positions, their mechanical war blades gleaming with a cold light, exuding a beauty of machinery.

Lang Ge stretched out his hand and pointed at the fortress ahead, saying, "Brother Yi, do you see that? Inside that fortress is the War Flag. The five Guardian Mechas outside are just for show, and I have the authority to control them. But inside the fortress, there are another ten Guardian Mechas. Once the fortress is breached and someone rushes in, they would immediately be subject to their slaughter. Only Ice Wind Water Soul has the authority to control them. However, he’s not here right now, so those ten Guardian Mechas can only fight automatically, which weakens them significantly."

"I understand. You control the five Guardian Mechas outside not to attack me. I’ll summon a powerful incarnation right beside that fortress, then you control those five Mechas to fight with the incarnation, and in the midst of the battle, destroy that fortress," Huang Yi said to Lang Ge.

Afterward, he walked forward towards the fortress. The five Guardian Mechas were already under Lang Ge’s control and did not launch any attacks; they were just like a pile of cold iron lumps.

Huang Yi closely approached the fortress and summoned the entrance to the Heroes’ Prison, then strode into it.

The sunset was about to descend, and the city was bathed in golden afterglow, like its final splendor.

The members of the Wind Kingdom in the city were all busy with their own affairs. Some were on duty on the city walls, some were strolling through the streets, and some were whispering sweet nothings in gardens. No one expected that their greatest enemy was right in the heart of their city.

Time ticked by second by second, with Lang Ge constantly watching the entrance to the Heroes’ Prison.

At last, Huang Yi reappeared outside and quickly fled the scene.

The entrance to the Heroes’ Prison gradually dispersed, and faintly one could see an Unmatched Swordsman emerging on the spot, his presence formidable. Although he stood there alone with a blade, his aura was invincible.

"Alright, you control the Mechas to fight against him!" Huang Yi said to Lang Ge as he sprinted swiftly to his side.

Lang Ge immediately nodded and maneuvered the five Guardian Mechas to engage in battle with the Unmatched Swordsman!

"[Territory Announcement]: [God of Slaughter] has invaded our territory, currently at the central area. Please hurry to support!"

The next moment, everyone in the territory suddenly heard the announcement! Although Huang Yi didn’t act personally, the Swordsman was summoned by him, so naturally, it was counted against him.

At this, everyone in the Guild City was simultaneously stunned!

They had been defending meticulously to prevent Huang Yi from entering, yet now he had already reached the center of the Guild – the location of the War Flag, the utmost vital point in the Wind Kingdom!

Suddenly, a mix of emotions bred in their hearts. Some were fearful, some were enraged, some were astonished, and some were at a loss, unsure of what to do next.

"Everyone, pay attention! Everyone, pay attention! Instakill has invaded our territory using some method; he’s too powerful. Don’t go there just to die. Stay where you are and wait; our Guardian Mechas will kill him!" At this moment, Lang Ge turned on the guild mode, while controlling the Guardian Mechas, he directed everyone within the city.

Hearing these words, everyone found a backbone, and they all stayed put, looking anxiously toward the direction of the central War Flag, yet they didn’t approach. They all knew of Huang Yi’s prowess; the tactic of sending masses of people against him was ineffective.

"Damn it, how could Instakill have gotten in?" a guild member suddenly cursed out loud, his tone filled with intense confusion.

"Yeah! Our Heavenly Curtain has been up all along, the city gates have been closed, the Teleportation Circle allows exit but no entry, and we haven’t given any teleport privileges to members of the Hero Guild. How on earth did that bastard Instakill get in?" another guild member also expressed his bewilderment.

"Instakill is a strange one. He always manages to do things we can’t understand. Maybe he used some kind of treasure this time! We don’t need to worry too much. Our War Flag is protected by a solid fortress, he won’t be able to breach it! And we have many types of Guardian Mechas, including the Bow and Arrow Mobile Armor. Even if he flies into the sky, he can’t escape!"
