Heroes' Prison

Chapter 282 - 277 The Seriously Injured Velociraptor

Chapter 282 - 277 The Seriously Injured Velociraptor

Huang Yi charged down towards the other end of the mountaintop, where there was a forest that stretched as far as the eye could see, and occasionally the roar of an Earthwalking Dragon could be heard. Gradually, he delved deeper; Earth Dragon Valley was boundless, seemingly a world of its own, and he was still far from reaching its edge.

"Swoosh!" Just as Huang Yi had come down from the mountain, he suddenly caught a flash before his eyes as a huge shadow swiftly passed by, disappearing into a small valley nearby.

Huang Yi caught only a glimpse of the shadow. It was an Earthwalking Dragon more than two meters tall, its body a dark green that almost perfectly matched the foliage, making it extremely well camouflaged. Strong hind limbs and a slender tail gave its body an appearance of perfect streamlining; it was slender and robust, moving so fast it was nearly invisible in the blink of an eye.

This was the fastest Earthwalking Dragon Huang Yi had seen in his time in Earth Dragon Valley, and it was very likely the legendary Velociraptor.

Huang Yi looked towards the small valley where the Velociraptor had disappeared. It was overgrown with grass, obscuring the inside, while a faint purple miasma hinting at deadly poison faintly emanated from within.

After some thought, he decided to go in for a look. He was still in his Agile Cat Form, which meant he was quite nimble, allowing him to quickly rush into the valley and move through the dense grass. The grass, reaching two to three meters high, seemed like a forest from Huang Yi’s perspective as the petite Treasure-Sniffing Cat, with his vision shrouded in chaos.

Soon, Huang Yi had passed through the dense undergrowth and entered a clearing; he had reached the entrance of the small valley. No animals were in sight, and the area was filled with a light purple miasma. However, after absorbing the essence of the Half-Beastmen form, he had very strong disease and poison resistance, so the miasma posed no threat to him.

At the entrance of the valley, there were two huge rocks with only a gap slightly more than a meter wide between them. The slender Velociraptor could just fit through here, while the larger Earthwalking Dragons could not, making it an ideal nest.

Huang Yi immediately dashed into the valley. Inside, a huge, ten-plus meter boulder blocked his view. He circumvented the boulder and was suddenly greeted with a new sight.

Before him was a small meadow, scattered with many broken eggshells that gave off a rancid smell. At that moment, a Velociraptor stood in the middle of the meadow, holding a dragon egg in its mouth and slamming it on the ground, savoring the egg yolk with relish.

Now, Huang Yi had a clearer view of the Velociraptor. Its body was more gracefully sleek than he had imagined, perfectly streamlined in form, a stark contrast to the typically ungainly and fierce appearance of other Earthwalking Dragons. Merely looking at it gave one a sense of speed akin to rapid lightning.

Huang Yi was very pleased with this Velociraptor; it would serve as an excellent means of transportation, saving a great deal of time on long journeys. He decided to capture this Velociraptor!

While Velociraptors might have weak Attack Power when compared to Tyrannosaurus Rex, Raptors, and other Earthwalking Dragons known for their offensive capabilities, they could still be quite terrifying when facing players. This Velociraptor, being a Level 75 BOSS and a high-level pet of Advanced Fourth Rank, was something current stage players could not overcome alone. Even in Huang Yi’s powerful state, facing the Velociraptor alone was a sure path to death, as their strengths were simply not on the same level.

Huang Yi surveyed the terrain around him. If he could block the entrance, it would create a perfect closed environment where he could let out the criminals from Heroes’ Prison and have the Criminal Incarnation fight the Velociraptor. He would swoop in after they had both sustained injuries.

Huang Yi glanced back at the entrance, where just above the boulders, there lay a slightly smaller round boulder that seemed easy to roll. Pushing it down would firmly block the entrance.

He silently retreated to the mouth of the valley, transformed into the most Agile Cat Form, and climbed up the rock face to the round boulder in a few strides.

He then shifted form again into the strongest Beast King’s Human form, picked up the legendary Ghost Axe, and summoned all his mightiest Strength to strike at the round boulder!

"Boom!" A thunderous roar erupted as the round boulder was set in motion, tumbling down into the valley below with a loud rumbling noise like an Earthquake.

"Crash!" The boulder rolled fiercely and landed right at the narrow entrance, blocking it completely.

With that, the small valley became a completely sealed environment.

The Velociraptor, startled by the noise, instantly looked up alertly towards the entrance, its tail straightening out, ready to make a run for it at any moment.

Upon seeing Huang Yi on the rocks above, the Velociraptor’s gaze turned fierce, emitting a roar as a warning, then continued to lower its head and lick the dragon egg on the ground.

Huang Yi waited a while to make sure the Velociraptor was not paying him any more attention, then quietly leapt down from the rock, entered the valley, and summoned the entrance to Heroes’ Prison, rushing inside.

He was fast, taking only five minutes to obtain a key—

Dragon Blood Warrior Princess, Shivana (Level 151, ID No. 5072)

In the Near Ancient period, descendants of the Dragon Clan flowing with the mysterious Dragon Blood, attempted to absorb their dragon essence by slaying a Skeleton Dragon kept by the Death God’s Temple as part of their coming-of-age ceremony. Captured for this audacious act, they were thrown into this cell for life imprisonment.

The one key grabbed at random, incredibly, was related to a descendant of the Dragon Clan. Furthermore, this Dragon Blood Warrior Princess seemed very interested in the essence of dragon blood. The Earthwalking Dragon, though barely considered the lowest member of the Dragon Clan, should suit her taste quite well.

Next, Huang Yi arrived at the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess’s cell, following the map in the "Book of Heroes".

This cell was unlike others in the prison; it did not contain the shadow of a monstrous behemoth, but, conversely, housed a seductively beautiful woman.

She was dressed in red hollowed-out armor. The armor on her upper body was like a bra, barely covering her bosom as waves surged, while the lower part was a short skirt, revealing her slender and beautiful legs. Her figure was comparable to Qin Shiyu’s. If she were a player, being locked in this cell, set against the whips on the walls, who knows how many male players with particular tastes she would attract.

"I smell fear," said the seductive woman, turning her head to give Huang Yi a detached look, her gaze devoid of emotion, like an ice queen.

"No, what you smell is freedom," Huang Yi replied, glancing at her and waving the key in his hand.

The Dragon Blood Warrior Princess was momentarily stunned, then enthusiasm gushed in her cold eyes as she fixated on Huang Yi, her bosom heaving with excitement.

After countless years, she had finally seen the hope of freedom!

"Perhaps one day, I will release you completely, and then you may serve me. But for now, I can only offer you a bit of freedom," Huang Yi said as he inserted the key into the big lock of the cell, giving it a slight turn. He opened it to 1% progress, allowing an incarnation with 1% of the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess’s power to escape. This was the one-time chance offered by the Magic Gate.

Huang Yi dared not linger, promptly choosing to teleport out of Heroes’ Prison. Immediately after, he transformed into his Agile Cat Form and scuttled up onto the rocks to hide, ready to watch the impending battle below—fighting the dragon behind closed doors.

The entrance to Heroes’ Prison began to fade, and the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess’s incarnation gradually became visible. Her eyes brimmed with excitement as she faced the beautiful outside world, taking in a deep breath of the liberating air.

This incarnation, wielding only 1% of her strength, was slightly inferior to a level 75 Raptor. However, that didn’t mean 100 level 75 Raptors could defeat the full-strength Dragon Blood Warrior Princess; strength didn’t simply stack linearly. Each 1% increase in power geometrically enhanced her true combat power.

Eventually, the entrance to Heroes’ Prison completely vanished, cutting off the incarnation from her main body. Her eyes were now devoid of any emotion, in an instant becoming a killing machine driven only by the most primal combat instincts.

She began to wander aimlessly, but the exit of the small valley was sealed. She could only walk deeper into the valley.

By now, the Raptor had thoroughly filled its belly, contentedly licking the yolk left at the corner of its mouth, its long tail flicking lightly. Just then, it spotted the incarnation of the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess. Sensing the pure Dragon Clan bloodline within her, its dragon eyes widened momentarily with a fear reserved for higher-ranking dragons.

Soon, it realized that the aura of this Dragon Blood Warrior Princess was not strong, even weaker than its own!

A glint appeared in its eyes, and it licked its lips. This was a grand feast; if it could devour her and obtain the pure Dragon Clan bloodline, its own strength would experience a significant boost!

At that moment, the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess also noticed the Raptor. Her eyes turned a fierce red as she charged forward.

"Boom!" The Dragon Blood Warrior Princess fiercely collided with the Raptor, sending it tumbling backward.

Enraged, the Raptor roared and launched a brute force attack at the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess.

In an instant, the two giant beasts engaged in the most savage of brawls, kicking up dirt, leaves, and eggshells into the sky. It was the rawest form of struggle, void of any tactics, a clash of pure strength!

Neither of them was an opponent Huang Yi could contend with, and he stood atop the rocks, an onlooker across the water, watching the fight below turning the world upside down.

...

Gradually, the sounds of battle diminished. By now, the Dragon Blood Warrior Princess had reached her limit, her incarnation, with only 1% of her power, now paralyzed on the ground. The Raptor beside her wasn’t faring much better, bloodied and with a broken leg, it hobbled along, breathing heavily. (To be continued.
