Chapter 254 - 249: Creating a Guild
Chapter 254 - 249: Creating a Guild
By now, all of Huang Yi’s offensive modes had been destroyed!
And Belis’s health was down to the last 100 or so points!
Huang Yi waited patiently, staring intently at Belis. There was a "Burning" debuff on Belis, left by the Hunting Dog’s flames, which continued to scorch!
Belis frantically tried to extinguish those flames, its health dwindling further, death drawing ever nearer!
After completely extinguishing the flames on its body, only 32 points of health remained!
"Phew!" Belis let out a breath of relief.
But at that very moment, a sudden flash of a sinister claw light cut through the air, with Huang Yi’s figure reappearing and his cat claws fiercely sweeping across Belis!
Instantly, Belis’s last 32 points of health were wiped out!
"Boom!" The next moment, Belis’s massive body fell backward with a thud, crashing heavily onto the ground.
A token slid off its corpse, falling to the ground.
Huang Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief. This battle had been too hard-fought, without his Beast King Form, without his weapons, his strength had declined geometrically, reduced to a mere novice claiming victory through the skin of his teeth.
If this weren’t a secret realm, he could have summoned the Heroes’ Prison and used the criminal’s avatar to deal with it, much more easily.
If this were a secret realm like the Tower of Pantheons, Huang Yi could have transformed into a Spirit Cat in the last moments, using Life Sacrifice to blow it up and then come back to collect the spoils. But this was a Guild challenge secret realm, with different rules: die and get teleported out immediately, not even a chance to pick up the spoils.
This Guild challenge was still too difficult for players at the current stage. In the entire China region, up to now, only 10 people had succeeded and only 10 Guilds had been created.
Next, Huang Yi transformed back into his human form, walked over to Belis’s corpse, and bent down to pick up the token.
The token was iron-black, the size of a palm, with three words in the common tongue of the continents engraved on it—Guild Token!
This simple token represented the dreams of many, countless challenges in the Guild secret realms attempted for the sake of it, yet the number of successful claimants were few and far between. Now, Huang Yi had finally become one of those rare few.
After a long, arduous effort, he could finally create a Guild!
He immediately left the secret realm and returned to the Warrior Hall in Tiantai City.
"Respected sir, it seems you have failed, right? Would you like to try again? You can re-enter the Guild secret realm for another challenge for just 10,000 Gold Coins!" At that moment, the attendant saw Huang Yi coming out and said cheerily.
Huang Yi raised the token in his hand and said, "I want to create a Guild."
"Hmm? You actually succeeded?" The attendant was slightly taken aback, staring incredulously at the token, then looked at Huang Yi with reverence and said, "Then please follow me!" Saying so, he immediately turned and led the way.
Huang Yi promptly followed, exiting the room housing the secret realm’s Teleportation Formation.
Right then, a group of people was passing by outside the door, brushing shoulders with Huang Yi.
"Wu Daoli, do you think we could succeed today? We’ve challenged it more than ten times already, and it has cost us over a hundred thousand Gold Coins! If we keep this up, we’ll be out of money."
"What’s the rush? Haven’t you seen that Instakill hasn’t created a Guild yet? It’s normal for us not to complete the Guild challenge if even he can’t do it."
"Dragon Spike and Sharp Sword haven’t created a guild yet, do they not want to establish one?"
"Who knows! Maybe they’ve given their Guild Token to someone else and let their subordinates create the guild for them, so they can stay hidden and continue to enjoy their freedom."
...
As Huang Yi listened to their conversation, he walked on without showing any reaction. This was the first time he learned that the Guild Token could be given to someone else to establish a guild on their behalf, thus keeping one’s identity a secret. However, he didn’t plan to do that. Given his immense popularity, creating a guild himself would attract more people to join.
Following the envoy for a while, Huang Yi finally arrived at another room in the Guild Hall. There sat an old man with disabilities in a wheelchair, sporting glasses and hunched over an old desk, studying an ancient Elvish document. Although blind in one eye, he continued to absorb vast oceans of knowledge with his remaining eye.
Seeing the old man, Huang Yi almost immediately thought of Luo’an from the fifth floor of the Warrior Hall in Thornbush City. Both exuded the typical aura of scholars, tirelessly immersing themselves in the pursuit of knowledge.
"Lord Raphael, this gentleman is here to create a guild. He has successfully passed the secret realm challenge and obtained the Guild Token," the servant said with utmost respect upon seeing the old man in the wheelchair.
"Someone in Tiantai City has completed the guild challenge?" The old man named Raphael showed a hint of surprise before turning to look at Huang Yi and sizing him up.
"Young man, come in!" Raphael nodded to Huang Yi and then glanced at the servant, saying, "Dopan, you may leave us for now."
"Certainly!" The servant responded respectfully, bowed, and walked out, closing the door behind him.
"Creating a guild requires registering personal information. Please show me your business card," Raphael said as he opened the drawer of his desk, took out a yellowed, ancient ledger, gently flipped it open, and picked up a goose feather brush, dipped it in ink, ready to record.
Huang Yi immediately took out his business card and passed it over.
"God of Slaughter?!" Raphael took the card and was slightly startled when he saw the name, turning his head to look at Huang Yi once more, "I never expected it to be you! What a surprise!"
Then, Raphael turned back to the ledger, writing with the goose feather brush, the scratch of the pen filling the room. As he wrote, he said, "You remember Luo’an from Thornbush City, right? We’re old classmates. We caught up a few days ago and mentioned your exploits. He recently returned to the Oskan Royal Academy. The Academy now holds you in high regard, having inscribed your bestowed name in the annals of history and broadcast it across all continents. I hope you continue to strive hard; you may well be cultivated by the Oskan Royal Academy in the future."
"Thank you!" Huang Yi nodded politely. The Oskan Royal Academy, located in the Central Continent alongside the sacred lands of a hundred races, could be considered the world’s center – a place of highest authority. His current strength was too low to travel to the Central Continent unless a special opportunity arose.
"Now that you have a bestowed name, the next step is to reach Level 100 as soon as possible and undergo the Hero Trial at the Oskan Royal Academy. Then you could become the hero that everyone admires," Raphael said, setting down his brush and looking at Huang Yi: "Alright, your personal information is all set. For your guild, what name would you like?"
"Since everyone aspires to be a hero, I’ll name my guild ’Hero’," Huang Yi decided after a moment’s thought.
"Good!" Raphael nodded, continuing to write vigorously, registering Huang Yi’s guild.
Raphael finished writing quickly, put down the goose feather brush, and turned to Huang Yi, saying, "Next, please design your guild’s War Flag. This flag symbolizes the guild, and if it’s destroyed, the guild will have to disband. If you’re afraid, you can keep the War Flag in your storage ring forever, away from the light of the sun. If you wish to grow and strengthen your guild, find a place to plant your War Flag. The area around it will belong to you, and you may build cities there. But this also means your War Flag is at risk of destruction." He turned to look at Huang Yi again, "It’s like a ship; do you want it to safely harbor, or do you wish it to sail the seas?"
"A ship is safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for," Huang Yi stated, looking at Raphael, "I want the War Flag to fly high!"
"Good!" Raphael nodded again, "Then you should invest in the top-level War Flag, which has stronger attributes and covers a wider range. Of course, War Flags can grow; the more guild members you have and the higher their contribution to the guild, the stronger the attributes of the War Flag will become, providing higher bonuses for your guild members and making your guild more powerful. Once your Contribution Value exceeds a certain amount, you can use it to buy more Subsidiary Battle Flags and expand your territories. If a Subsidiary Battle Flag is destroyed, you’ll lose control of that area, but as long as your Main Battle Flag remains, your guild will survive." After finishing, Raphael pulled open the drawer and took out a long-sealed War Flag, unfolding it in front of Huang Yi.
The flag was entirely black, with a War Blade and a longsword drawn across it, exuding an air of indomitable spirit.
"How much for this War Flag?" Huang Yi asked.
"Ten million Gold Coins," Raphael said calmly, then looking at Huang Yi, his tone shifted "But since you are an esteemed Name Bestower, the price can be halved. Additionally, I’ll give you two Subsidiary Battle Flags as a privilege exclusive to a Name Bestower. If you were to use Guild Contribution Points to buy them, it would cost much more and take a very long time to accumulate enough points – a less sensible choice. You should know, even Dao Feng’s Xuanyuan Guild hasn’t acquired any Subsidiary Battle Flags."
Huang Yi furrowed his brows, deep in thought. He had nowhere near that amount of money; the only option would be to borrow from Dugu Lengcang, but he already owed him too many favors, and it felt somewhat embarrassing to ask for more.
"Of course, if you can’t afford it, you can buy the most basic War Flag for just one hundred thousand Gold Coins. Such a flag would be very fragile, though. For someone as renowned as the God of Slaughter, it would hardly be fitting, and more importantly, I wouldn’t give you any Subsidiary Battle Flags with such a purchase," Raphael added.
