Chapter 148: Return to Bai Long Lake

"Instakill, you’re here," said the old man on the ferry, turning his head to glance at Huang Yi before resuming his fishing with undivided attention.

"I’ve come to check on my sister," Huang Yi said, approaching. He had evolved since the last time and looked different, but the old ferryman still recognized him. It was evident that the ferryman possessed special abilities, able to see Huang Yi’s true identity, including his level and name.

"Your sister is doing well. Her constitution is very special, and she has no trouble absorbing the holy aura. I’ve never seen such a constitution before," remarked the ferryman as his fishing rod suddenly jolted. The old man on the ferry smiled faintly, placed the fish into the boat, and looked up at Huang Yi. "Get on board! I’ll take you to see your sister."

Huang Yi nodded and boarded the boat.

The ferryman rowed the flat boat gently across the lake covered in silver moonlight. A soft night breeze accompanied the slap of the oars against the water, soothing Huang Yi’s weary heart from the past few days. Bai Long Lake was a secluded place, free from battle, glory, and strife, where everything was serene.

When they reached the center of the lake, the ferryman stopped the boat and gave Huang Yi a look.

Understanding the signal, Huang Yi immediately turned and jumped off the boat.

With a shimmer of light, Huang Yi didn’t fall into the water but broke through a mysterious barrier and instantly arrived on a small island.

The island was filled with towering trees, each hundreds of meters tall, their tops invisible, not even the moonlight could penetrate here. Everything was the same as when he last visited, with no changes. Huang Yi walked into the Giant Wood Forest.

Along the way, he once again saw creatures opposite to those in the outside world: fish emitting blue light swimming in the air, elephants as tiny as mice walking through the grass, and monkeys that didn’t eat bananas fishing for their food...

"Squeak!" Just then, a monkey’s cry rang out from the branches above, and Huang Yi looked up to see a little monkey baring its teeth at him and cheekily wagging its tail.

This little monkey was the same one they had rescued on the shore of Bai Long Lake on their last visit. However, Huang Yi had evolved and no longer looked the same. The monkey, lacking the ferryman’s ability to recognize people, did not recognize him.

Huang Yi smiled slightly at the monkey and then continued on towards the front.

After walking for a while, he came across a small pond in the clearing with several leaves floating on the water. With a gust of wind, the leaves swayed gently, resembling tiny puddles after a rainstorm.

To outsiders, this small pond would seem insignificant, but Huang Yi, who had been here before, knew that this was the core territory of the White Dragon Clan. He took a leap and jumped right into the small pond!

They had been separated for less than a month, but upon seeing the Little White Cat again, Huang Yi felt a surge of excitement and couldn’t help but take a few steps forward, wanting to get a closer look.

At that moment, Little Wang suddenly noticed Huang Yi’s arrival. It immediately stood up, barking nervously, showing its ferocity and warning Huang Yi not to approach. However, upon seeing Huang Yi’s muscular body, it shrank back a little, subconsciously leaning towards the White Dragon King. Its bark seemed somewhat blusterous, betraying a facade of toughness.

By now, Huang Yi had evolved into a Half-Beastman. Little Wang, lacking the ability to recognize people, didn’t realize this at once and mistook him for a formidable opponent.

"Meow~" Just then, the Little White Cat seemed to notice something, stopped absorbing the Holy Aura, turned its head around, and saw Huang Yi.

In that moment, it was as if the surrounding waters stood still, and after a long separation, the siblings met eyes in the deep waters of the lake.

"Meow~" The next moment, the Little White Cat called out joyfully, its beautiful big eyes blinked, and then it swiftly pounced over, its form so quick it was almost a blur, and in almost an instant, it crashed into Huang Yi’s embrace. Following that, she stretched out her fluffy little paws, tightly wrapping around Huang Yi’s neck, and affectionately rubbed her small head against his chin as if she never wanted to be apart again.

"Sister, you actually recognized me." Currently, with Huang Yi appearing as a Half-Beastman, he extended his sturdy arms, cautiously holding the Little White Cat. His body was tall and strong, while the Little White Cat was petite and exquisite, yet they looked harmonious together.

Huang Yi held the Little White Cat tightly, pressing his face against her small head, then he closed his eyes, his resolute face filled with tranquillity.

Across mountains and rivers, he and she were finally reunited.
