Chapter 539: Leader Finally Took It Seriously
Chapter 539: Leader Finally Took It Seriously
Sianor stepped into the arena without haste. The moment he arrived, the air shifted, no longer dominated by Pelion’s black flame.
Pelion watched him and grinned. "Well, well, well... the boss finally decided to show up, huh?"
His gaze dragged slowly over Sianor, almost mocking. "Should I feel honored... or worried?"
Sianor didn’t react. He simply relaxed his body and met Pelion’s stare.
"You should be worried," he said calmly, "because you’re going to die."
Pelion blinked, then laughed, clearly amused. "Straight to the point, huh, Sianor..."
He rolled his shoulders slightly. "I like that."
With a loose shrug, he added, "Let’s see if you can actually..."
"Before we start..." Sianor cut in.
Pelion frowned. "What? Are you going to beg me to go easy on you?"
Sianor looked at him and laughed.
"Easy on me? Haha... are you crazy?" His smile sharpened. "Even I think you should go all out."
He tilted his head slightly, studying Pelion. "But that’s not what I wanted to say... There’s something I’m curious about."
His eyes narrowed. "All of you... the so-called ’perfect chimera.’ Why does it all seem so... simple?"
Sianor continued, his voice steady. "Stronger bodies. More brute force. That’s all I see."
He lifted one hand slightly, as if weighing the thought. "Is it really worth it?"
Pelion let out a loud laugh. "You’ve got a sharp eye, Sianor. Most people don’t notice that."
He took a slow step forward, the ground faintly cracking beneath his weight.
"It’s simple because most demonic beasts they fuse with are ordinary."
His tone turned blunt. "They’re just raw power and instinct... so that’s what you get."
He stopped, locking eyes with Sianor. "But I’m different."
The flames around him pulsed once... heavier and denser.
Sianor’s expression didn’t change.
He spread his arms slightly, as if inviting what came next. "Then show me, Pelion... your real power."
A faint aura rose around him.
"If you can’t..." His voice dropped, cold and certain. "You’ll die."
Pelion’s smile stretched wider. "Perfect."
---
Sianor didn’t move at first, yet the space around him began to shift.
It felt as if the sun itself had decided to draw closer than it ever should, its presence pressing in with quiet, suffocating intensity.
Pelion felt it immediately.
His body weakened without warning, a sudden heaviness dragging at his limbs. "Huh... what’s happening?"
The black flames surrounding him flickered and dimmed, their once-feral energy faltering as confusion crept across his face.
At last, Sianor raised his hand. A faint golden glow gathered at his fingertips, soft but unmistakably dense with power.
"Now show me... the true power of a perfect chimera, just as you claimed."
Pelion ignored the unease and smirked, spreading his wings wide.
"Gladly."
The black flames around him surged again, but this time, they didn’t simply burn.
They twisted, condensed, and collapsed inward, devouring themselves.
Soon, his entire form resembled a writhing void wrapped in fire.
Then he moved.
Faster than before, he vanished and reappeared above Sianor, arm raised.
Black flames compressed into a single point in his palm, the air around it cracking under the pressure.
[Void Ember Collapse]
The space beneath the attack warped inward, as if reality itself were being crushed before the strike could even land.
But Sianor simply looked up.
He extended two fingers, and the golden light upon them intensified.
[Solar Anchor Descent]
Pelion didn’t hesitate. He unleashed his attack but at that same instant, a single point of light appeared above him.
His eyes widened. What the hell—?
The light dropped.
It slammed into Pelion with overwhelming force, driving him into the ground.
His attack collapsed with him, crushed into the earth before it could reach its target.
The ground shattered, caving under an immense, invisible weight that pinned him in place.
Pelion’s wings strained.
Black flames flared violently as he fought against the pressure, and slowly, painfully, he began to rise.
"Tch... What the hell is happening...?"
For the first time, his expression shifted.
Sianor lowered his hand slightly, gaze steady.
"Didn’t I tell you already, Pelion...?" he said quietly. "You could die here."
He pressed his hand forward, the golden light sharpening.
"My power is the bane of all corrupt forces... including your demonic flames."
Pelion growled, black fire surging harder as he forced one arm upward against the invisible weight.
"You think that’s enough to stop me?"
The flames around him twisted again, darker now, denser, as though collapsing into something far more dangerous.
He clenched his hand, compressing the energy into a single, unstable core that pulsed with violent intensity.
[Abyssal Phoenix Ruin]
With a sharp motion, he tore the energy outward.
It surged forward, a devouring force that clawed at the golden light, seeking to consume it entirely.
Sianor didn’t flinch.
Instead, he opened his other hand. A different kind of light appeared, brighter and purer.
[Sunbreak Judgment]
He brought his hand down.
The two forces collided, and for a single, suspended moment, everything stopped.
Then... the black flames shattered.
They splintered and scattered, dissolving under the overwhelming brilliance of the golden light.
The space itself seemed to reject them, an oppressive force pushing the two energies apart as if the darkness had no right to exist there.
Pelion staggered back a step.
Then he grinned. "This is fun."
He straightened, wings drawing in slightly as the black flames around him shifted once more, changing and refining.
"Let’s try this properly."
He lifted both hands, claws curling inward as black flames gathered and condensed along their edges.
The fire no longer raged wildly. It focused, compressing into something precise and lethal.
[Eclipse Talon Severance]
With a single motion, he slashed forward.
A razor-thin arc of black flame tore through the air, an absolute cut that erased everything in its path.
Sianor’s eyes narrowed.
For the first time, he moved.
The golden light around him surged upward, expanding into something vast and overwhelming, like a fragment of the sun descending into the battlefield.
[Radiant Sunfall Execution]
The moment the two attacks met, the world screamed.
Space twisted violently under the strain.
The black arc resisted, pushing forward with annihilating force, carving against the golden descent.
For a brief instant, they held.
Then the balance broke.
The black cut shattered.
It didn’t simply collapse; it was overwhelmed, consumed entirely by the sheer weight of Sianor’s radiance.
Pelion’s body slammed into the ground again, harder than before.
The impact drove him to one knee as an immense, invisible pressure crushed down on him.
"This...!"
Sianor smiled faintly, stepping forward through the fading clash of light.
"Didn’t I tell you already?" he said calmly. "I am your bane."
He clenched his fist.
The golden light surged, pouring over Pelion and sealing around him like an inescapable judgment.
Pelion’s grin flickered. He let out a short, breathless laugh. "Heh... you’ve got to be kidding me..."
The light intensified and in a single, decisive moment, Pelion was burned away into nothingness.
