Chapter 333: Never Feared Anyone
Chapter 333: Never Feared Anyone
After Shen Qinglan entered the door, she waved at Shen Qingping and Shen Qing’an, who were discussing their studies in the courtyard."Third Sister, is there something you need?"
The two looked up at her.
Shen Qinglan whispered, "Where are your friends?"
"Is Qinglan talking about Dashun and Xiaobao?" Shen Qing’an said, "They should have gone home."
Shen Qinglan said, "Can you help your third sister find them?"
"Of course we can!" Shen Qingping said, "But what does Third Sister want them to do?"
"I want them to help Third Sister with something!" Shen Qinglan said, "Don’t worry, once the task is done, I’ll give them red envelopes and food!"
"We’ll go get them right away!"
Shen Qingping pulled Shen Qing’an and said to her, "Third Sister, wait right here. We’ll be back soon!"
Watching as they left, Shen Qinglan quickly went back inside, packed some food into a basket, and sat waiting for the two littles to bring people back.
After about half a quarter of an hour, Shen Qinglan heard the noise of children talking outside the main gate.
She smirked slightly and quickly brought the food to the bamboo bed and placed it down.
"Did your third sister really say that?" Dashun said, "There will really be food and red envelopes?"
"Really!" Shen Qingping emphasized, "That’s exactly what my third sister said."
"Did she say what we need to do?" Dashun asked again.
"No!" Shen Qingping pushed open the door, leading everyone inside.
"Qinglan!"
The children saw her and immediately called out in unison.
After receiving food and red envelopes from her during the last New Year, their initial fear of Shen Qinglan had turned into fondness.
"Hmm!"
Shen Qinglan picked up the basket and handed out the food to each of them.
She glanced around; there were seven of them in total, of varying ages. The oldest were Dashun and Xiaobao, who were the same age as Shen Qingping and Shen Qing’an, and the youngest, at six, was Xiaodong.
The children from the village generally matured early, especially Dashun, who was especially adept at reading people.
After handing out the food, Shen Qinglan beckoned them over with a wave of her hand, indicating for them to come closer.
They approached with curious faces, and Shen Qinglan whispered a few words to them.
"Really?" Dashun’s eyes lit up, "As long as we tell, we each get one hundred coins?"
Shen Qinglan’s face darkened slightly, and she said in a soft voice, "Do you think I’m lying?"
"I wouldn’t dare!" Dashun swallowed, "Then we’ll go right away!"
"Go ahead, remember, don’t let anyone know that I told you to say it." Shen Qinglan said, "Once the task is complete, you and Xiaobao come to my house when no one is around to pick up the money and share it with everyone."
Shen Qinglan thought for a moment and added, "Remember, you can’t even tell your family members. If I find out someone talked, I’ll beat them."
They all hurriedly shrank back and shook their heads, saying they wouldn’t dare.
"But what if our family finds the money? What do we say?" Xiaobao asked timidly.
Shen Qinglan’s image of beating people in the drying yard was vivid in their minds, and even though she seemed much more "kind and benevolent" after the New Year, the children were still very afraid when they heard Shen Qinglan talk about beating people.
"If the elders ask, just don’t say that I gave you the money for doing something. Just say you came to our house to play, and I gave you a red envelope."
Anyway, when this gets out, Wang Li is sure to know she did it.
She’s just using the children’s innocent words to let Wang Li know the consequences of malicious words.
Even if it’s known that she instructed the children to say it, so what?
Didn’t Wang Li say that her mouth is her own and she can say whatever she wants? Well, she’ll let her experience what it means to be unable to defend herself.
Even if she wants to argue about this, she’s not afraid. Shen Qinglan, having lived two lifetimes, hasn’t been afraid of anyone!
